Cheeky fckery

Queenie6655 · 16/07/2021 16:06

Hmmmm I have never come across much cheeky fckery before I must say

But my cousin is taking the fcking biscuit right now

Not heard from him in years
Random call few weeks back to ask if he could help to cut down some trees on my land (we never asked him to do so)

So few weeks later
He has made his way to one of our lovely areas of land with huge tractors - made a total mess

Got a random guy to come cut trees - no idea who he is but he throws his litter on the road every day for us to pick up

Now I would say he has cut down 40 trees
Looks like my cousin is building something and has seen the price of timber so tried to pretend he was doing us a favour

I'm raging with him
He has left such a mess

If I say something my elderly father will get upset but it just pisses me off so much I'm tempted to put a lock on the gate so he can't take the rest of the trees away 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Yes very very true

Do you still have livestock on the farm? if yes you need to really get your act in gear now and sort this out. This has massive potential for animal neglect/abuse written all over it as no one seems to be in control here.

If you no longer have livestock the situation is less urgent, but still of course something needs to change. I'm so sorry you are going through this, I appreciate it's horrible.

Budapestdreams · 16/07/2021 19:10

What a CF, I hope you get the wood back!

We do but we pay more in winter and autumn for them to be managed

It's unusual for me to be away this time of year

But yes we need to have a better grip on things

Good luck OP. I appreciate it's a shit time for you and it's horrible that people are taking advantage, I wish you all the best.

Queenie6655 · 16/07/2021 19:15

Thank you all

Wake up call we needed

Plan was to move soon so I guess we let go of things in a way

OP

I think you should involve the police and ask Age Action for advice.

Your father has dementia so don't bother him.

Report to the police.

It sounds like criminal damage, but check it out.

He said he had permission, didn't.

He said it was clearing some land not decimating an area.

Go further with this.

This is elder abuse.

Very true

I have spoke to to wider family now

I didn't want to shake the boat but there are so many factors here

My dad has 2000 acres
Huge amount of land

People take the Piss !!!!

My brothers all abroad so no interest in land

@Queenie6655 So what is your plan then OP? Thanks

HalzTangz · 16/07/2021 22:39

@Queenie6655

Yes true would not surprise me

If I say something I risk upsetting my dad

If I put the lock on I hope me may take the hint

Fcking walkovers here
I wish I had the guts to say no or check things out sometimes !!!!!!

Just text him, say thanks for helping out, we don't need any more cutting so will be locking the entrance now. Will let you know if need more cutting down in the future.

That way message is polite so shouldn't upset your father

GrandmaSteglitszch · 16/07/2021 23:40

HalzTangz - read the thread.

Queenie6655 Do you have a plan of action?

LittleRed53 · 17/07/2021 08:26

@Queenie6655 You said you might be able to have help to get back some of the wood this morning- has that worked out? Flowers

Whyo · 17/07/2021 08:28

You don’t need to martyr yourself honestly - the person that has created the situation to upset your dad is your brother.

If your dad is going to get upset over something so ridiculous that’s not for you to police yourself to stop it.

Set some boundaries with the pair of them.

Palavah · 17/07/2021 08:45

@Queenie6655

The wood is sitting out down the road from us at his friends house (his friend has a machine to cut it up) No idea how long it needs to be left out until it can be used

Should go down and take it back
Use it for our own solid fire ??!!

Of course take it back. It's your bloody wood!
GrandmaSteglitszch · 17/07/2021 08:46

Whyo her dad has dementia.
It's a cousin, not brother, who is the CF.

Not the case

It was a cousin

And my other neighbour had agreed to come with me to take the wood back
We will put it in his shed

Thank you all again xxx

Please take lots of photos of what he has done to the trees.

Were any of the trees special?

Could you also contact the environmental dept?

If the place is known for its natural beauty then lots of awful photographs being leaked onto FB on a community page might be useful.

I think this is a police matter.

Totally unacceptable op. A few years ago we had a tree surgeon in to cut back some trees on our land. It was very costly, all insured etc. I arrived back from work to see some guy loading all our wood onto his van. I immediately went over and told them to stop immediately. They were very red faced and apologised to me. They knew full well what they were doing was wrong, it was theft and that is why when I confronted three large men they backed down.

How does this work - I paid for costly works and they still stole my wood.

I am sorry you are so upset op. They will kick off about the wood, but it is your land and he misled you completely. It is theft. What a horrible person to take advantage of his own family in this way. So many entitled, greedy people about I would say that as the wood has been recovered now, you will not take matters any further and be firm.

Disgusting behaviour

Why do people do this

Do they think we are dumb and won't care ??

Any local paper that would do a story?

People rightly get VERY upset when they see lovely countryside decimated.

Especially as the owner is a vulnerable older man with family away.

Box clever OP.
You can very successfully mortify your cousin by quietly publising this.

This is elder abuse, criminal damage and theft.

Why would you let this go?

billy1966 · 17/07/2021 14:01

Do you know any good neighbour that you could ask would they upload pictures anonymously?

Same with a local paper.

Then you have deny ability with a great result.
