To not want to see any adult who hasn’t had the vaccine

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:15

I don’t feel like I want to hang out with anyone who has refused the vaccine. AIBU? It’s not only because I am worried they are carrying the virus it’s also because I resent them. I think they’re being selfish and also that they think they’re better than the rest of us!

You think you're better than they are so I call it even.

Northernparent68 · 15/07/2021 23:20

If you’re vaccinated you are protected

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:21

@Aquamarine1029 I think I’ve done the right thing yes. Not just for me but for everyone! What makes them think they’re so special that they shouldn’t have the vaccine?

OP posts:
Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:22

Like it’s ok for the majority to take any risk with being vaccinated so they don’t have to?

OP posts:
Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:22

While they are increasing the chances of more variants emerging

Sorry, I don’t get why you think they think they’re ‘special’ for being worried about the vaccine. Can you explain more?

XenoBitch · 15/07/2021 23:23

YABVU

What makes you think you are so special that you are morally superior to your friends who have made a different choice to you?

They will be 100% better off without you.

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:23

I feel like I want them penalised. Like refused entry to everything and not allowed to travel

But nobody HAS to have the vaccine. Including you. It’s called medical autonomy. They’re not saying you have to have the vaccine. They’re just deciding not to have it for themselves.

They are better off not associating with someone with such extreme views.

But why are you feeling so vengeful and controlling?

Peeceandquite · 15/07/2021 23:26

Your loss tbh

thepeopleversuswork · 15/07/2021 23:26

I agree with all of that OP.

I would add that also don’t really want to hang around with people with such limited intellectual capacity. Shoot me, but it’s how I feel.

Mrsfrumble · 15/07/2021 23:27

You realise that some people can’t have the vaccine for medical reasons, right? And neither can anyone under the age of 18 because it hasn’t yet been approved for them in the UK. So they would have to be “penalised” too, and their families.

onceivepostedidontcomeback · 15/07/2021 23:28

I don’t feel like I want to hang out with anyone who has taken the vaccine. AIBU? It’s not only because I am worried they don't have a mind of their own it’s also because I resent them. I think they’re being stupid and also that they think they’re better than the rest of us!

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:28

Is it my loss? I don’t feel I’m losing. I am surprised at people I thought were sensible and responsible

OP posts:
Totallydefeated · 15/07/2021 23:29

OP you do realise that 47% of the people who currently have the virus have been jabbed, don’t you? So should everyone be banned from travel?

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:30

I don’t include anyone in this that hasn’t had the choice. Those who are old enough and can have it but have refused are just winding me up

OP posts:
saveyourbreath · 15/07/2021 23:30

I kind of know what you mean op.

Vaccines are for the greater good in society so we are all protected. For example I’d be a bit uncomfortable with my kids playing with unvaccinated children (usual childhood vaccines) as measles, for example, can be nasty and no vaccine is 100% effective - but much better if both have the vaccine.

I feel the same way about Covid.

ilovesooty · 15/07/2021 23:31

I think the OP is referring to people who choose not to have the vaccine.

FWIW I wouldn't want to hang around with the wilfully unvaccinated either.

Fthisshitimdone · 15/07/2021 23:32

What I mean about penalising, is anyone who could have the vaccine and has refused, should be refused things in return while the rest of us get back to some kind of normal. Yes I know we can’t force people to have it but if they couldn’t travel or go places they wanted to I bet many of them would change their tune!

FrangipaniDeLaSqueegeeMop · 15/07/2021 23:33

Hid what a different life I lead - I couldn't tell you who is and isn't vaccinated of my friends and I'd never ask

Tinpotspectator · 15/07/2021 23:34

One of the very unpleasant things about a lot of the refusers is that they are openly saying they will have it if it helps them personally eg to go on holiday. Lovely!

Mrsfrumble · 15/07/2021 23:35

@Fthisshitimdone

But then if they were banned from travelling and entering places, those doing the banning would have to admit that it was about revenge and not safety.
