Just that really. Even if she has a few months to go to due date by the time of wedding shouldn’t she have told us?

@ViciousJackdaw

Methinks all the guests made a real fuss of the photographer and gave her the attention dear Bridezilla thinks should have been hers,
I hesitate to say that would make sense, because it’s madness. But I think you might be right!

Reverse?

tiredmama2020 · 13/07/2021 22:27

Why would that ever be something she had to declare? 🤔🤣 you’re booking her for one day. Lots of women work when they’re pregnant!

I booked a driving instructor and paid upfront for a block of 20 lessons and she turned up the following week for my first lesson 35 weeks pregnant and declared she was taking 6months off starting 2 weeks later. Now that I was pissed about as there had been no mention of it during our conversation about availability and she’d happily let me pay upfront for 20 hours!

EmmaGrundyForPM · 13/07/2021 22:28

I can see you might be concerned if she was due around your wedding date, but a few months away? YABVVU

FanOnCurtainsClosed · 13/07/2021 22:29

I think the OP is the photographer and a bridezilla is making trouble.

Am I right?

ELM8 · 13/07/2021 22:29

Depends when she is due.. our wedding photographer didn't tell us and gave birth three weeks before our wedding.

It was all fine and she did a cracking job but let's be honest it was pretty tight and if she had had a rough birth / c-section there was a possibility she could have been unable to come. That should have been our decision to take that risk not hers IMO.

Why? Are you the daddy?

melj1213 · 13/07/2021 22:30

@YouLikeTheBadOnesToo

I mean I could understand you being a little bit ‘concerned’ if her due date was the same time as your wedding. But since it’s not, surely it’s the same as your hairdresser being pregnant. It’s irrelevant.
Yeah, if the wedding was on Friday and the photographer's due date is the Saturday it might be an issue but if the wedding is this Friday and the photographer isn't due till October then I'm not sure where the issue is coming from
LemonRedwood · 13/07/2021 22:30

Who's voted YANBU? Come on, own up and explain why!

PTW1234 · 13/07/2021 22:31

You sound horrific op

NoPointInWednesdays · 13/07/2021 22:32

My photographer was 7 months pregnant at my wedding…. I don’t see the problem here am I honestly missing something??? She was pregnant, her arms didn’t fall off and make her incapable of doing her job FGS!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Thedogscollar · 13/07/2021 22:33

She has zero obligation to you other than to turn up on your wedding day and take photos.

You have no right to know if she is pregnant, her due date or anything else about her pregnancy.

Why on earth do you think you have the right to this personal information that has nothing to do with you???

Utterly bizarre.

FanOnCurtainsClosed · 13/07/2021 22:33

Oh come on. Please put me out of my misery and confirm you're the photographer

userxx · 13/07/2021 22:34

Of course she should have told you. It's been proven that professional pregnant photographers take out of focus photographs. I'd sue her pregnant ass.

Pebbledashery · 13/07/2021 22:34

How is this your bidnis🤔

LolaSmiles · 13/07/2021 22:35

I love a bridezilla thread, but hope the OP is the photographer and not the bride who is probably worried that their loved ones seeing a pregnant stranger might steal bridezilla's spotlight

TammyS86 · 13/07/2021 22:35

Hmmm I get it, actually. Babies come literally whenever, not always round their due date, sometimes very, very prematurely. Women can become very unwell when pregnant. I can understand your concerns but you're just gunna have to cross your fingers or find someone else

baddaughter2021 · 13/07/2021 22:36

THANK YOU

sorry all, one of those dreaded reverses. I’ve already done 10 weddings this summer with another 7 to go, not due until late Oct and several of the brides have expressed their disapproval of me having not told them because there’s an increased risk I won’t make it or that I won’t be working to my full capacity on the day. My last one is 2 months before I’m due and honestly the reception I’ve had to something I never considered having to tell people (because of past losses and quite frankly it not being any of their business) has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Just wanted to check I wasn’t wildly wrong with my decision

TheRebelle · 13/07/2021 22:36

Aren’t wedding photographers usually booked when you book the venue, at least a year in advance, unless it’s a shotgun wedding of course, perhaps it looked like a theme?

Wow! That's bad of her. I'd have cancelled and demanded my money back.
Porridgeislife · 13/07/2021 22:37

Mine was 8 months pregnant at our wedding, didn’t disclose it, and it was fairly obvious she didn’t have the mobility to do her job well. Our photos are shite and didn’t reflect the folio we booked her from.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 13/07/2021 22:38

Oh yes, I mean pregnant women are well known for being unable to take photos. The bump gets in the way Hmm

Seriously - it's none of your business whatsoever. Would you expect your accountant to tell you she's pregnant too?

amysaurus87 · 13/07/2021 22:39

Why would she need to...last time I checked pregnant women can still hold a camera and take photos...

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 13/07/2021 22:39

Just saw your post about it being a reverse. YANBU
