Penis-haver

AIBU to start referring to all men as penis-hackers (inspired by the absurd NHS policy re people who menstruate thread)?
Hi, here’s my penis-haver X who I’m married to, my penis-haver friend Y and I was assaulted by a penis-haver paediatrician?

OP posts:

@Mmn654123

Everywhere we see ‘man’ we should use the contact us page to inform the writer of their trans exclusivity so they can correct it.
Anyone got the address for the mayor of Manchester? They'll have to get all the stationery reprinted and the roadsigns altered.

And what would Clackmannanshire become?

LakieLady · 16/04/2021 09:30

Have we had "bellenders" yet?

On a related issue I've just been confronted with this on my twitter feed.

Trans men are men

Nope.

adviceseekingnamechanger · 16/04/2021 09:41

@NRCS

You realise that this thread contains men and women talking about names for men's genitals right? Trans is not involved, hard as that is to contemplate, I know.
No no they must be centred in everything. I think that's why dear Katy found this thread transphobic. We weren't talking about trans people at all, so that's probably transphobic now too.
Angrypregnantlady · 16/04/2021 09:42

Could we just stop trying to ram people into boxes and treat people as individuals?

Rukaya · 16/04/2021 09:46

No, of course we can't on a societal scale. That would be immensely silly. That would mean not having a box for sex on an NHS record, and therefore calling everyone up individually and gently enquiring if they own a cervix and need a smear test, and then doing it again next time in case they had decided to change sex in the meantime.

The linked Metro article by Laura Abernethy is a very good illustration how increasing numbers of women collude with and contribute to the erasure of the word woman.

(extracts)
People are reporting heavier periods
some people saying they’ve noticed their period has got heavier after getting the vaccine.
They both noticed that their period had come earlier than usual, and Katherine spoke to other friends and family members as they got vaccinated, with a few more noting changes to their periods.
‘A colleague told me she has heard from others that their periods were heavy post-vax. I’m curious whether other menstruators have noticed changes too?
Since then, other people have shared their own experiences, with some saying they were having a period for the first time in years, and others saying their first period after the vaccine was so heavy, they had to call 111
From there, Katherine and Kate decided to launch a formal study to collect experiences of having a period after getting vaccinated
At least 32 people (out of around 56,000) have reported changes to their periods
Dr Elise Dallas, at GP at Babylon, says: ‘There is currently research going on about if the vaccine impact on periods
we have always known that stress, poor sleep, exercise, and some medications, can impact the menstrual cycle

Its only when ’ Dr Ashfaq Khan (consultant obstetrician & gynaecologist, Harley Street Gynaecology) is quoted at the end of the article that women are acknowledged as being the specific group of people affected.

He tells Metro.co.uk: ‘Some women have reported ...
Ashfaq points to a study, which found that around 20 to 25% of the 177 women of childbearing age who provided menstrual data

Yes, I can imagine a senior obstetrician and gynaecologist would have no truck with this female erasing nonsense.

Peregrina · 16/04/2021 09:57

"People are reporting heavier periods as possible side effect covid vaccine"

Well, I suppose this could mean that women are reporting heavier periods to their doctors, some of whom will be male, and they are doing the reporting to the authorities.

Or I suppose not.

Ah right, so if we talk about trans people on here that's transphobic. And now if we dare to discuss biological men or women without referencing trans people that is also now transphobic. So we also aren't allowed to NOT talk about trans people on MN now. Got it.

R0wantrees · 16/04/2021 10:04

The meaningful data comes from extrapolating both sex and age of the human beings who are female who responded.

Cf article in The Sun, 'SIDE EFFECT Women say their periods are heavier after Covid vaccine – when to see your GP' by Vanessa Chalmers where the word woman is used throughout:

@Blue4YOU

Doesn’t langers mean pissed (also Irish but not from Cork)?
Langer means loads of things

You can be langers (drunk)
You can act like a langer (asshole)
Or you can have a langer if you're male (penis)

Epididimonster · 16/04/2021 10:33

Schlong toter

I particularly like the toting bit of it, a bit like a fancy handbag.

Peregrina · 16/04/2021 10:37

todger toter
prostate person.

@MNHQ classics please. This thread needs to exist forever as important reference material

Rowantrees. I had to wait for the red mist to clear before replying to your (very informative) post. 'Menstruator' - how fucking insulting does that sound?

I'm a woman. I'm not reduced to a set of messy bodily functions. Nor do I take too kindly to being called a 'bleeder'.

Really weary of this BS.

LindaEllen · 16/04/2021 10:56

Okay, 'penis haver' is absolutely my new way to refer to my partner. Excellent!

MarieIVanArkleStinks Iris Child captured the rage in her poem,

"Menstruator, and other words that rhyme with ‘hate her’
(extract)
if you wish to be inclusive
please amend your language usage
‘woman’ has now been disabled
this is how you shall be labelled:

ovulator, menstruator, gestator, incubator
procreator, lactator, child-curator, care-taker
homemaker, meal-maker, vacuum-cleaner-operator
titillator, conciliator, erotic-roleplay-stimulator

if a woman should resist
any title from this list
please ensure her full compliance
here is how to squash defiance:

moderate, invalidate, ensure that you re-educate her
irritate her, frustrate her, make sure you exasperate her
do berate her, denigrate her, obviously you castigate her
deprecate her, do deflate her, tell her you depreciate her" (continues)

This thread is so informative, I have learnt so many new words and their meaning. I know it's a serious discussion with the erasure of the word woman but you all so intelligent and witty.
Incidentally, is spunk a regional word as I've only seen it used once?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 16/04/2021 11:05

One of my favourite Irischild poems, R0,

listsandbudgets · 16/04/2021 11:05

@marielvanarklestinks I've only been called a bleeder once.

I went to A&E with a dog bite on my finger and blood spurting out of it. Receptionist red lighted me for triage there was a lot of blood my t shirt was soaked in it and the nurse opened the door yelled out "Doctor we've got a bleeder".

Turned out to be their short hand for an arterial bleed and a reasonable context in which to use it Actually my finger is hurting just thinking about it Grin
