On the bbc news, 3 out 4 of the queen's children wished to say something in tribute to their father...

Andrew is obviously been kept on the back burner. They must know there's only so much the less fawning of us can take.

People are outraged. But AS wasn't on the telly the other day addressing the nation. That's likely to be generate heated debate.

No, she's just getting on with her life knowing nothing will happen to her and she's got away with it.

Because it doesn't work like that?

Maybe it shouldn't but it clearly does. I understand why the US aren't handing Sacoolas over to the UK, they are protecting on of their citizens in the same way that the UK are protecting Andrew.

forfucksakenett · 12/04/2021 13:18

The overwhelming vibe I get from this thread is yes PA is probably a creep bit he's our creep, he's a special royal creep and that means something in this country. We've spent hundred of years protecting our wrong 'uns and we're not going to stop now. Anyway some other counties have 'worse' villains 🙈.

AS has nothing to do with this situation. Not even in the context of extradition rules. The UK and the US go back and forth about lots of different criminals / alleged criminals / people of interest. These two aren't the only two. They aren't a trade off.

Prince Andrew is being protected. If it was me I'd be forced onto a plane and I'd be interviewed by the FBI. It's really that simple.

No they are protecting rich elite citizens. There's a difference.

So is Prince Andrew Hmm
Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 12/04/2021 13:20

If he had nothing to hide he would help the FBI or whoever with their investigations.

Exactly.

Are they? I haven’t witnessed much outrage.

For God’s sake, he gave a banal response to a reporter who asked him about his father’s death. Why on earth are you all so wound up about something so mundane and trivial? It’s out of all proportion.

Lampzade · 12/04/2021 13:31

Andrew’s arrogance knows no bounds.

I don’t want to hear from him unless it is to do with him speaking to the FBI

You spend a lot of time describing people who are angry about Andrew and the Epstein scandal as silly little commoners who are making a fuss about nothing and who should get back to watching Eastenders.

Your attitude speaks volumes about you .

Andrew addressed the nation ( yes I agree a very banal speech) and he has not earned the right to do so.
Once he speaks to the FBI in person and answers questions , things might be viewed differently

forfucksakenett · 12/04/2021 13:32

Type her name in Twitter. Type her name in google. There is outrage.

He was addressing the nation and eliciting sympathy off the back of his dead father. Sorry but that's going to get people's backs up.

Let me remind you

  • he had a long friendship with a convicted child abuser and he knew he was a convicted child abuser
  • he spent many weeks with this man on holiday etc when the stories about what happened surrounding this man were rife
  • he associated with a woman who has now been arrested for child trafficking
  • he has been accused of the statutory rape of a trafficked minor and hasn't actually denied it just said he can't remember her at all. Even although there's a picture of them together.
  • he went on television In one of the most car crash cringeworthy interviews I've ever seen and behaved as if all this trafficking, abuse and mental and psychological scarring was a huge inconvenience for him
  • he has refused to cooperate with the investigation authorities despite several attempts to get him to

So yes. Some people are understandably fucked off that he's going on about is all losing the 'grandfather of the nation' and attempting to garner sympathy when really he should be either doing his moral duty and giving what info he has to help these poor victims get a bit of closure.

forfucksakenett · 12/04/2021 13:34

@Alsohuman the repeated abuse and trafficking of young women is not a mundane issue and yes actually it really does wind me up.

How very weird of me Hmm

'For God’s sake, he gave a banal response to a reporter who asked him about his father’s death'

Yes anyone would think he'd hosted a press conference or something. His df has died he is actually allowed to comment as he left church.

The list of grievances and alleged offences may be proven but they haven't yet despite his offer of a witness statement.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 12/04/2021 13:38

@Alsohuman

Anne Sacoolas, totally agree. But how does that make PA's actions OK?

It doesn’t but strangely it’s provoking almost no outrage. 🤷‍♀️

Not on this thread, no. Because this is a thread about Prince Andrew.

There have been MN threads about Anne Sacoolas in the past, and plenty of outrage on those threads. Did you ask all the posters on those threads why they weren't expressing outrage about Prince Andrew?

Alsohuman · 12/04/2021 13:41

You spend a lot of time describing people who are angry about Andrew and the Epstein scandal as silly little commoners who are making a fuss about nothing and who should get back to watching Eastenders

Do I? Perhaps you could find the posts where I’ve spent all that time saying that. I suspect I’ll have a very long wait.

What I have said repeatedly is that he hasn’t been charged with, let alone convicted of, anything. We have a judicial system which presumes innocence until guilt is proved, inconvenient though that is for the witch hunters.

I find his association with Epstein abhorrent and would like to see him investigated. Even more I’d like to see Ghislaine Maxwell spill the beans.

What I will not do is get outraged because he responds to a reporter’s question about his father’s death.

Somebody doesn't have to be charged with something or convicted of anything for me to realise that refusing to help the FBI with their enquiries into trafficked girls isn't a dick move.

I mean come on ffs.

StarCat2020 · 12/04/2021 13:47

Thing is what would you do if your son was wanted by the FBI, would you encourage him to go to the US?

forfucksakenett · 12/04/2021 13:47

@LDom he has not.

He has offered to answer, in written form, a set of typed questions.

That's not in any way the same.

As @LDom has just said he hasn’t refused. The way he’s offered to cooperate just doesn’t suit you.

Irrelevant.

He's a grandfather in his 60s. His mummy should have nothing to do with it.

forfucksakenett · 12/04/2021 13:50

@LDom let me just correct that for you ...

He may or may not have had sex with a vulnerable 17 year old girl who was trafficked and used repeatedly for sex with older powerful men and she still bears the psychological and emotional scars to this day.

SueSaid · 12/04/2021 13:52

'What I have said repeatedly is that he hasn’t been charged with, let alone convicted of, anything. We have a judicial system which presumes innocence until guilt is proved, inconvenient though that is for the witch hunters.'

Exactly! He's offered witness statements, if he isn't been questioned then we can only presume that currently there isn't sufficient evidence to question him.
