They are keeping Andrew out the way, arent they?

On the bbc news, 3 out 4 of the queen's children wished to say something in tribute to their father...

Andrew is obviously been kept on the back burner. They must know there's only so much the less fawning of us can take.

Is the Express insinuating that Andrew isn't his child? 🤭

OldScrappyAndHungry · 10/04/2021 22:43

There’s no paternity question I think they’re just hoping we’ll forget he exists Shock

Pupster21 · 10/04/2021 22:53

Yes Andrew is being kept out of the way, I suspect to avoid he outrage that will takeover the mourning news.
I do think things will catch up with him. After Ghislaine trial maybe or it may be after the Queen has passed but his time will come.

PermanentTemporary · 10/04/2021 22:55

Bloody hell Foo2 good spot

1Morewineplease · 10/04/2021 22:55

Andrew spoke about his father yesterday.

Interestingly, all of Philip's children spoke about him yesterday, in the past tense , and all of his sons were wearing black ties. Yet none of them actually spoke to the media yesterday.

jessstan2 · 10/04/2021 22:59

Considering the bad press he has had, which even incited demonstrations outside Buck House, he will keep be keeping a low profile until he is (hopefully) exonerated.

Surely the have pre recorded them in advance knowing they'd need to be put out but would be too upset to do so?

Why hopefully? Because he hopefully didn't do it (unlikely given he's refusing to be interviewed)? Or so he'll hopefully get away with the crime he committed?

ssd · 10/04/2021 23:04

Yeah and l hopefully wake up tomorrow a size 10

@RoseRedRoseBlue

I wonder how they would manage things in the event of him passing suddenly - not sure how that would pan out and how much the public would tolerate.
A private family funeral. He's miles from the throne and he's been decommissioned l. He's not going to be having a state funeral is he?

I'd definitely complain if they covered that on BBC1 and BBC2!

woodlandcalm · 10/04/2021 23:17

@ssd

He'll still be living in complete and utter luxury though
In the few seconds snippets they included from him in the broadcasts last night he still managed to come across as over privileged pompous oaf.
ssd · 10/04/2021 23:18

He wont change, theres no reason for him to.

I hope he's shitting himself, wondering what Ghislaine is going to come out with at her trial in July.

BRB2021 · 10/04/2021 23:34

He is the only one who is so pompous that he ALWAYS refers to his mother as "the Queen" when saying anything about her. The others vary between saying an affectionate anecdote as "mother" and re a duty one as "the Queen". Shows what a snidey position obsessed person he is.

The tribute I watched tonight on the BBC had a very small bit from him, and a blink and you missed it shot of H and M's wedding so they are obviously walking a fine line

To be fair Edward and Sophie slowed down and put their windows down to acknowledge the people at Windsor on their way out. Sophie had clearly been crying (understandably) yet she was gracious enough to make a comment to one journalist, something along the lines of the Queen is amazing.
Loveisthehope · 10/04/2021 23:49

Sophie seems lovely - glad she can help comfort the Queen

Devlesko · 10/04/2021 23:59

Oh come on the apple didn't fall far from the branch Prince Andrew is not a head of the RF, we can only guess at who JS was referring to in the Louis theroux documentary.
I remember his words, even though you'll probably never see the recording again.

They’re all pre-recorded well in advance and just updated every now and again. They’ve already done one for their mother, and I believe for each other, as well.
whittingtonmum · 11/04/2021 00:19

Andrew is such a disgrace. That's the problem with the monarchy: He will always remain a Prince. No matter how much they try to hide him he will always be his royal highness. I wonder how many prominent figures in public life outside the royal family would keep their title, position and taxpayer-funded support when associated with the type of criminals Andrew has been linked to. Sickening really.

CallmeHendricks · 11/04/2021 00:25

Well, he was born a prince, so they can't take that away from him. And remember, that he hasn't actually been convicted of anything at the moment. We can't have trial by excruciating TV interview, so the other titles have to remain for the time being.
Re: funding, I expect the Queen supports him to an extent, as her son. One may agree or disagree as to how on earth that works, with a man in his 60s, but hey, that's the system for you.

So what's the alternative? Kicks him out to be a burden on the kids? Puts his face out and about to make money to live? Loses any control over his publicity? And basically says to the world "I KNOW HE'S GUILTY!" when he's not been charged with anything? "Head down, mouth shut. I'll keep you comfortable and content on agreement that you do not many any other decisions for yourself. If the situation changes we'll review" is the entirely sensible answer for them
Pixxie7 · 11/04/2021 00:35

Regardless of what people think of him he has just lost his dad, give him a break.

TheSpottedZebra · 11/04/2021 00:42

What, surely not? Now, pretend that your mum has died - that's right, remember to use the past tense- now what would you say about her?

Isnt it more likely that they just recorded a short bit at home after he died, and it was sent in to the media?
