They are keeping Andrew out the way, arent they?

On the bbc news, 3 out 4 of the queen's children wished to say something in tribute to their father...

Andrew is obviously been kept on the back burner. They must know there's only so much the less fawning of us can take.

He can feel how he wants over his father's death.

I just don't expect the BBC to give him airtime.

firedrake · 11/04/2021 22:32

@BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand

Andrew was just shown on BBC news. He's not being hidden in the slightest.

He (and the rest of them tbh) has no shame.

I turned off line of duty to see him on my screen and I'm disgusted that the bbc would think we care ANYTHING about how he feels or what he thinks.
Babygotblueyes · 11/04/2021 22:32

I would guess they are testing the waters to see if people will accept him. Or that he is so arrogant he insisted in being included - apparently he has always expected the limelight.

cerealgamechanger · 11/04/2021 22:35

I posted this on the other thread that got deleted but it's clearly a PR move to get him out from wherever he's been hiding and get him seen to be 'normal' again. They know people aren't going to attack someone who's been recently bereaved/grieving so are using the death as an excuse to get him out there. Creep.

BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand · 11/04/2021 22:35

It the fact that we were being invited to sympathise with him that pissed me off the most. Just no.

firedrake · 11/04/2021 22:36

Fuck the bbc and the royal family then. They're both rotten.

Taketheredpill · 11/04/2021 22:38

@BeenAsFarAsMercyAndGrand

Prince Andrew is a piece of shit. I dont expect decency from him.

I am more pissed off that our state broadcaster put him on the news. Why do they give him the oxygen of publicity? Why are they helping to rehabilitate him in the eyes of the public?

I agree .

Here’s the complaints link.

www.bbc.co.uk/contact/complaints/make-a-complaint/#/Complaint

I’ve just sent a complaint . Better than wasting time here arguing with Andrew’s apologists

cerealgamechanger · 11/04/2021 22:39

@Taketheredpill

It seems the other Andrew thread has been deleted. I suggest people switch to Twitter now if they are interested in how Andrew’s speech is being received .

😂😂😂

They are keeping Andrew out the way, arent they?
Alsohuman · 11/04/2021 22:40

You’d have to be a special kind of shit not to sympathise with anyone who’d just lost their dad.

It’s clearly nothing of the sort @cerealgamechanger. Ffs, who plays PR games at a time like this?

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2021 22:41

I think the BBC are still dealing with all the complaints that The Duke of Edinburgh’s death stopped them watching Eastenders or something. Hmm

Taketheredpill · 11/04/2021 22:45

Yes they’ve been inundated with complaints
Not everyone shares your fawning attitude you know.

Roussette · 11/04/2021 22:46

Of course it's a tentative rehabilitation exercise.
Whilst I have sympathy that he has lost his Father, there was NO need for him to stand and talk to the cameras.
I know the press asked him a question, he could easily have said...thank you for your kind thoughts, and left it to Edward and Sophie.
But no, he or the palace are testing the waters

I’m not fawning although it’s sad that the Queen’s husband of 73 years has died. But I don’t watch Eastenders either. TV has returned to normal so hopefully everyone’s calmed down a bit now.
cerealgamechanger · 11/04/2021 22:47

Erm, PR companies @Alsohuman (or maybe you're Eugenie/Beatrice/Fergie)?

Taketheredpill · 11/04/2021 22:50

They haven’t calmed down and this won’t go away.

Sparklingbrook · 11/04/2021 22:52

They’ve not calmed down about Eastenders being cancelled? Blimey.

No, I’m someone who’s worked in PR for over 30 years. I can spot a set up a mile off. It was obvious that was spontaneous.

Disgraced Royal Princes thats who.
AnotherSunrise · 12/04/2021 00:44

He was on the news tonight

AnotherSunrise · 12/04/2021 00:45

Masterchef final was postponed!

I thought he spoke quite well actually, it was heartfelt.

While I sympathise with him as a fellow human being who has lost their parent, his interview today did not ring true. This is the man who has a very dubious past plus is known to tell servants to "fuck off" when they dare to bring his tea in the morning. He was totally playing us today sorry I don't buy it.

jessstan2 · 12/04/2021 02:52

@Tossblanket

Well yes, he's a nonce.
Prove it.

Honestly, people seem to love thinking the worst of others. What has happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Prince Andrew hasn't even been charged with anything, neither is that likely unless it is believed he has committed a crime. Knowing someone who has committed crime can happen to anyone.

SmokedDuck · 12/04/2021 03:40

I really really don't understand how pwople saying that

  1. the legal processes around criminal charges need to be followed, and we don't really know what those will turn out to be, or
  2. Speculating to what degree he was involved with or knew about what Epstein was up to,

means defending illegal or immoral behaviour.

I think if he did or knew things that make him criminally responsible he should go to trial and go to prison.

But I'm not sure what actually happened or what he knew, and guess what, neither is anyone else posting on mn.

No one should have to apologise for wanting the processes of the law that protect us all from being observed.
