To be a little bit in love with Ted Hastings?

Disclaimer: I'm currently catching up and halfway through Series 4, and aware that he may have become shadier in recent times (but don't know the details so no spoilers please!)

I think the fact he's Irish and has a huge line in sarky comebacks definitely helps.

Mmm Ted isn’t that sort of man 🤨

TransplantedScouser · 07/04/2021 21:31

@OhWhyNot

Not necessarily if he wasn’t married at the time

That has always been his barrier

fizbosshoes · 07/04/2021 21:35

@iklboo
😂😂😂😂

BeardieWeirdie · 07/04/2021 21:36

Steve has to be from “down south” because otherwise he wouldn’t have fitted Dot’s list of the Caddy’s characteristics. I did like Kate telling Steve in series 5 that he’d be getting nosebleeds after having gone all the way north to Liverpool.

I got really annoyed with Steve this week snooping around in Mrs Scouse’s house - of all the bent, murdering bastards in LOD, a widowed mother of two who’s kind to him wouldn’t be my top target.

HOkieCOkie · 07/04/2021 21:37

On s2 I get it!! He has an air of liam neelson about him

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 07/04/2021 21:37

@iklboo Grin just needs a tiny waistcoat.

Ah but weren't you impressed how he scaled that loft ladder with his dodgy back ? Wink

Loved Dot Cottan with his cheeky little smirk.
I even braved the Whitechapel episode where he plays "The Krays ." ( twins Jimmy/Johnny)

AreYouSiriusLupin · 07/04/2021 21:50

TransplantedScouser same... fight you for the 3 of them, but I would consider sharing Grin

dodiebantock · 07/04/2021 22:02

I really fancy a bit of solitary confinement with Ted......

I saw Ted in his other (real) life in an Art Gallery a little while ago a came over all peculiar. Absolutely gorgeous .He is my idea of a real man. Have you noticed he wears TWO wedding rings, one on each hand. Please can anyone tell me why?

ladygindiva · 07/04/2021 22:14

He's too old and grumpy but yes I probably would.

Bella43 · 07/04/2021 22:19

He's a wonderful actor. I think he has some fantastic lines and whoever cast him deserves a promotion. He was definitely made for that role. Now, onto the underground stuff, I think he's seriously underrated as a bit of a sex god. There's a smouldering look about him. It's like he's undressing you with his eyes. He sure knows how to work with the camera. As for Steve Arnott, I'd give him one an' all. I could work around his bad back no problem Wink In fact he wouldn't have to do anything

I was more annoyed that he didn't pick up on the massive 'H' tile in the kitchen behind the mugs.

I'm so glad I started this thread...thought it might be a bit niche but I've had a shitty day and it's really cheered me up!

DS Twyler in Series 4 is also quite fit...something of a beardy Richard Armitage vibe I think?

@Noauthorityhere

Mother of god!
You beat me to it!!!!
AgentCooper · 07/04/2021 22:45

Ted might be more adventurous than we think. Mind that time he had to get his laptop wiped because he’d been watching parr-naa-graphy? If he was going to the trouble of getting it wiped there might have been some pretty mad stuff on there....

And it sounded to me like he definitely had an affair with Corbett’s mum.

MintyCedric · 07/04/2021 22:53

@AgentCooper

Do we know why his wife left him? Was it just work or perhaps there was some kind of kinky sex incident?!

OP posts:
ursuslemonade · 07/04/2021 22:59

I thought she left him because he used all of their savings to invest in property in Portugal without her knowledge and lost it all.

SpiderinaWingMirror · 07/04/2021 23:13

Steve in his waistcoat has a look of Basil Brush about him, the wee fella.

@MintyCedric I think it was due to him losing their life savings with his dodgy investments but you get the feeling that was the last straw and he was probably never out of the AC 12 building, ever.

Who knows, though? Maybe she wanted to be able to commit minor crimes like jaywalking without him reporting her because he must follow the letter of the law Grin

IdblowJonSnow · 07/04/2021 23:27

Came on to say 'Mother of God' but can see I've been beaten to it, probably several times!

Frickssake · 07/04/2021 23:36

Well, she's cooked her goose now
