YY to the accent though. I dated a guy at uni from NI and he used to tag on "So you will" or "So you do" at the end of sentences. Very reassuring. He's gone on to become a dentist, so I can imagine him saying "You just need a wee filling, so you do" and reassuring his patients.

I found Steve’s accent so weird and his delivery a bit stilted when I watched the first two seasons. Until then I had no idea he was Scottish AF.

Being Scottish I couldn’t get comfortable with Steve’s accent for ages in the early series because I’m so familiar with his normal voice. He is basically the epitome of a Wee Guy here. Millions of wee Martin Compston types cutting about Glasgow on a Friday night, which makes going on the pull as a 5 ft 9 woman quite difficult or at least it did when I was in my early 20s and unmarried.

Ted makes me think of Postman Pat. It drives me bonkers. I think it's the strong nose.

Do you know, I’ve never even thought about his nose and now I see that’s probably a big part of why I fancy him so much. All the men I’ve fancied lately have been 50-something with strong noses.

Am currently enjoying watching Santiago Cabrera in Salvation on Netflix. His English accent is impeccable, he even remembers to say arse rather than ass! He did grow up in London though, diplomatic family.

Would 100% bang Ted. Would also 100% bang Steve. Got a bit of a soft spot for John Corbett too and very much fancied Dot.... even when he did. Yknow, turn out to be a wrong ‘un.

I was just thinking the very same thing about Ted earlier this afternoon - my washing machine is playing up and I found myself muttering in a crap NI accent "Mother of God in the manner of my latest crush.

I don't trust Gill. And she's not right for Ted - she'll eat him alive, poor wee fella. Am watching on catch up and only on series 4 so far.

My favourite is Dot. Ted over Steve everytime. I dont like his grumpy face! I like Kate but I dont agree with the others who said shes beautiful. Fantastic actress though.

I love Ted too. I think he'd be really irritating in a relationship, but hey.

My favourite though was Anna Maxwell Martin in series 5. She was SO rude whilst being so nice. I hope she comes back.

I didnt want my DD (14) to watch it because I thought it was bit gory, but apparently one of her teachers recommended it so ive been forced, forced I tell ye, to start at series 1 again. I'm not too sad about that! and picking up a lot that I missed the first time . (Although I have had an appreciation for Ted since the start)
Dd insists we watch with subtitles so we catch any mumbling or police jargon. She did ask what Ted actually did though...and I didnt know, because Steve and Kate seem to do everything!

Love him. Especially when had his armed officer uniform on at the end of series 4 or 5😍 I messaged my friend saying I now saw him in a totally different way when he put that uniform on she wasn't impressed .
