To be a little bit in love with Ted Hastings?

Disclaimer: I'm currently catching up and halfway through Series 4, and aware that he may have become shadier in recent times (but don't know the details so no spoilers please!)

I think the fact he's Irish and has a huge line in sarky comebacks definitely helps.

@mammmamia

Mother of god! I find Vicky Mc’s acting so wooden!

Really?! Shock I think she's amazing.

Also, fun fact. Vicky McClure (Kate,) and Stephen Graham (from season 5 of Line of Duty,) worked together in This Is England back in the noughties.

Agree with Steve looking like a magician in his waistcoats. Although he was an abject scoundrel, I did think Dot was rather dishy.

SpeakFriendAndEnter · 07/04/2021 15:45

Ted makes me think of Postman Pat. It drives me bonkers. I think it's the strong nose.

mammmamia · 07/04/2021 15:53

@littlepattilou maybe it’s just this latest series!

Agree with Steve looking like a magician in his waistcoats.

I was thinking more like a snooker player, or a football manager. Grin

Love Ted but he is sexist "running around with pan's people" and I suspect a bit sexually repressed...

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 07/04/2021 16:03

Yes he's absolutely sexist and my inner feminist screams at me for liking him, but I was exactly the same with Gene Hunt.

Some of these replies are hilarious. Mother of God!

In what way?
PatriciaHolm · 07/04/2021 16:06

I don't watch LoD, and for some reason the only Ted that sprang to mind was this one.

I was rather worried for your critical faculties for a moment there.

Littlejayx · 07/04/2021 16:07

Hastings like the battle Wink

OneofPansPeople · 07/04/2021 16:07

He can bend me over the Top of the Pops stage any time.

I had to google Gene Hunt. Oooooh, he's all right isn't he? Grin

@littlepattilou - just so witty & with such great affection for the series. This thread has brightened up a dull afternoon 😂

LakieLady · 07/04/2021 16:08

He's lovely!

1FootInTheRave · 07/04/2021 16:09

Kate is my fave.

I fancy Hastings to be my father figure.

And I shagged someone identical to steve in my teen years so he remains 16 in my head 😁

Holothane · 07/04/2021 16:10

I think I’m boring my friends with my Ted talks

They only wish to talk about who is H Confused

Stillfunny · 07/04/2021 16:12

@OhWhyNot . .Everything is referred to as "wee " in most places.! In shops " Do you want a wee bag for that, a wee receipt , a wee cup of tea .
And parking wardens in uniforms will give you the authority you crave .
@littlepattilou Seen Stephen Graham in The Virtues and lots of things. Like his accent too.

GreenlandTheMovie · 07/04/2021 16:15

@MintyCedric

Steve is cute and has a fine line in waistcoats but he's about 4ft tall!
Yes, but he's not approaching his sixties!
tanqueray10 · 07/04/2021 16:16

I’m absolutely in love with Ted too! He’s definitely (definately) hotter than Steve!! Great hair.

ButIcantsitonleather · 07/04/2021 16:18

I found Steve’s accent so weird and his delivery a bit stilted when I watched the first two seasons. Until then I had no idea he was Scottish AF.

OneofPansPeople · 07/04/2021 16:19

There's a lot of hot 50 somethings out there.
