Would you let teen ds go to centre parcs in this situation

Hi

Son is 14 if he can go Centre parcs in august with his boyfriend and boyfriends older brother and friends.

Older brother of boyfriend is 21.

I am not sure I feel comfortable with it, he thinks I’m being v unreasonable.

Back story - his sister has been v sick and there is no chance of having a break this year.
So would be nice for him to get away but are 21 year olds really responsible for 2 14 year old boys.

I would say no. He's only 14. Maybe 16 would be slightly different but not a change at 14 with 21 year olds.

OhhOkay · 03/04/2021 22:13

Chance*

neroforte · 03/04/2021 22:13

yes. i did almost exactly this at 13 with my best friends older sister who was about 18 at the time. i'm still here!

Mosaic123 · 03/04/2021 22:14

Do you know the 21 year old to be extremely responsible?

I would say no otherwise.

Troublewaters2021 · 03/04/2021 22:15

@neroforte I read that as your still on centre parcs 😂😂😂😂😂

Comefromaway · 03/04/2021 22:16

No, if it was with the parents I’d say yes, but not a 21 year old brother.

thenightsky · 03/04/2021 22:16

How old is the 'boyfriend'?

EverythingsComingUpRoses · 03/04/2021 22:16

Boyfriend as in romantic interest or boyfriend as in friend that is a boy?

Superstardjs · 03/04/2021 22:16

No as he is 14. 16, fine.

shouldistop · 03/04/2021 22:16

No way. I've got an older brother, he'd have been buying us booze and not supervising anything at all.

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 03/04/2021 22:16

I wouldnt let any 14 year old go away with a boyfriend or girlfriend without a parent.

MixedUpFiles · 03/04/2021 22:16

Depends on the personalities involved.

Troublewaters2021 · 03/04/2021 22:16

@Mosaic123 erm I wouldn’t say they were the bad at all, usual lad stuff.

They all do polo and rugby together at the weekends ( my DS including ) but I don’t doubt there is drinking etc

They are a sporty lot so they say they have chosen there because they want to the the outdoor activities

lol that made me laugh ! i enjoyed it but not to that extent ! Grin

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 03/04/2021 22:17

No, presumably the 21 year old will be off with their own friends and not wanting to supervise children.

Hoppinggreen · 03/04/2021 22:17

@neroforte

Probably time you went home now

OP, there’s no way I would allow it

Troublewaters2021 · 03/04/2021 22:17

Boyfriend is also 14.

Erm well so tech they are friends but I am 95 percent sure they are in a relationship !

OP posts:
IHaveBrilloHair · 03/04/2021 22:18

No.

SylviaPlath1984 · 03/04/2021 22:18

No chance, personally.

TrainWhistleChoir · 03/04/2021 22:19

No, definitely not. 21 year olds can drink alcohol. 14 year olds shouldn't. I'd be surprised if that combination was allowed as a group booking tbh.

EverythingsComingUpRoses · 03/04/2021 22:19

Erm well so tech they are friends but I am 95 percent sure they are in a relationship !

On that basis I'd be saying no

Seems like away either boy could find themselves in a position they aren't comfortable with and no get out parents supervising

Tankflybosswalkjam · 03/04/2021 22:19

No. Not a chance.

Troublewaters2021 · 03/04/2021 22:20

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss I think it’s because they all mingle anyway at the their weekend sports.

Maybe I should talk to their parents ? Maybe I could suggest I come along 😂😂 not sure that will go down well

Soontobe60 · 03/04/2021 22:20

I doubt they would actually be able to book as most places don’t allow solo groups of young men ‘ women anyway. It’s a family place, not a lads party hot spot. Either way, he’s 14, barely a child!

mayneedabiscuit · 03/04/2021 22:20

No
