Totally putting because it's my face but I don't care.

Started off with a small pain at 4pm and bit of redness. Got worse, pain got worse, kept getting a crackling sensation.
More pain and redness so I went to minor injuries.

There's nothing in there and no abrasion. And in the meantime the blood redness spreads but so does the fluid so they say it's an allergic reaction.

I go home, unconvinced. The eye is feeling better since I put a patch on.

I just took it off and took a photo and there's like a crater under the surface.

What the actual fuckery is this?

It's happened once before and no one knew what it was then either.

Any ideas?!

A traumatic injury/episode, causing a nasty inflamatory or infectious case, likely linked to your contacts lenses. A&E asap!

Windmillwhirl · 22/03/2021 22:09

It could be extreme conjunctivitis among several other things according to this link

Nahna · 22/03/2021 22:10

Yikes! Perhaps a trip to a and e tonight! Hope it's OK!

justasking111 · 22/03/2021 22:10

Friend had some like this, drops day and night round the clock, no more contact lenses and she's on the edge of being allowed to drive now one more infection and the car is gone. Hospital

Arthien · 22/03/2021 22:13

It could be an allergy to something like aspirin. Have you tried taking any antihistamines?

ineedaholidayandwine · 22/03/2021 22:13

Wow OP, hope your on the mend soon. I would definitely get to an eye hospital, better to be safe

justforthisnow · 22/03/2021 22:13

The "ulcer" you think you see may well be a pus filled cyst, of infection. Or (less likely but more intriguingly) a live parasite.
Do keep us updated.
From the A&E.

youvegottenminuteslynn · 22/03/2021 22:16

No abrasion to massive abrasion seems like getting loads worse to me but maybe I'm just a worrier! Hope it's ok when you see them tomorrow OP and that you manage to get some sleep, it looks so sore! Thanks

RoomAtTheEndOfTheWorld · 22/03/2021 22:19

I had exactly this a few years ago when toddler DS kindly head butted me on the top of my cheekbone and he also had conjunctivitis at the time.
The whole white of my eye was red with blood, it looked horrendous! My eyes were constantly running too, like I was crying but I wasn't!
At the time the doctor said it was caused by a combination of bruising/trauma to the eye from the head butting and the infection from conjunctivitis.
It went after a week or so.

Atalune · 22/03/2021 22:21

Good luck.

And shamelessly place marking.

RoSEbuds6 · 22/03/2021 22:23

Your eyelid in the first pic looked yellow/bruised, is it caused by a black eye?

Caramelsmadfuzzytail · 22/03/2021 22:24

Why are you willing to put your eyesight at risk? Whats the point of coming on here, asking peoples opinions and the basically shoving your fingers in your ears and "la la la, I cant hear you".
I find it hard to believe that a "medical professional" said to leave it. I had a problem with my eye, saw a pharmacist, who nearly had kittens and told me to see an ophthalmologist ASAP.

FATEdestiny · 22/03/2021 22:25

Jesus. That's horrific.

justforthisnow · 22/03/2021 22:27

Having zoomed in on your latest pic, it does look like an abrasion of some sort, of a traumatic type, force or pressure driven. Given you wear contact lenses, this will likely be the source. Unless you have a Superhero job involving eyebballs you're not telling us about 😊.
If you are happy to wait til morning, then ok, I wouldn't be personally, as I would like the industrial strength antibiotics now please, with a follow up appt with opthalmology to find out any underlying cause.
You've had it before, so you can probably judge best.

Roszie · 22/03/2021 22:27

Christ.

Go now.

An interesting question.
BrutusMcDogface · 22/03/2021 22:31

I wouldn’t be able to sleep if that was me. Poor you. Hope you get it looked at again ASAP Sad

Shufflebudge · 22/03/2021 22:32

Do you drink a lot of alcohol?

AnyFucker · 22/03/2021 22:33

What did you get banned from Mn for ?

Belle89 · 22/03/2021 22:33

Good luck tomorrow, hope it heals quickly

GetTheStartyParted · 22/03/2021 22:34

My DH had a coldsore in his eye, it caused it to look similar to yours and was very sensitive to light. I couldn't see the actual coldsore though. He needed treatment for quite a while and a lot of checkups.

Hope you get it checked and it feels better soon OP.

AF am I the last to know, as usual?
KasparKat · 22/03/2021 22:35

As its changed significantly since you saw the medic (you might think its getting better as there's less pain but think of someone with appendicitis, when it bursts it stops hurting but will kill them if they don't get it treated) I really think you need to go to A + E now. I wouldn't be taking any risks with my eye sight or calmly going to bed!
