My children are off school with very bad colds (not covid!)
I want to see my friend at her house tonight we had this arranged however she's backed out last second saying that it's not a good idea to meet while my DC are poorly as she can't risk being unwell at the moment which has upset me as it's not covid and I'm not unwell.
Whose being unreasonable?

It’s a no brainer, it’s Your friend!
She needs to trust you

sillysmiles · 17/03/2021 23:01

@aibu2021

No not been Covid tested. No not a reverse. They are off school. I understand now I'm in the wrong, I just thought it being a bad cold was a bit ridiculous to not see someone.
But if your haven't had them tested how do you 100% know it's a cold?
Emeraldshamrock · 17/03/2021 23:28

@ChinChinPassMeTheGin A reverse is when the OP is actually the friend but mixes it to get a reaction.
Silly game really. Grin

Lacucuracha · 17/03/2021 23:43

Has to be a reverse surely. Own up OP Grin

Sixdegreesofseparation · 17/03/2021 23:47

It's not reverse, she said....

Wish you'd enabled voting! 😁

Cocogreen · 17/03/2021 23:49

Forgetting COVID for a moment - I was hoping this pandemic would see more awareness and consideration for others and people staying home when they had “ just” a cold.
So your kids get her and her kids sick and they’re all having to get tested and stay home because of a whim of yours? Maybe your kids do have colds but how selfish to inflict them on others.

Ohdobequiet · 18/03/2021 00:07

NoProblem123 · 18/03/2021 00:44

This is a reverse - she is.

23PissOffAvenueWF · 18/03/2021 01:49

I don’t think it is a reverse. I think the OP is actually that clueless. Grin

23PissOffAvenueWF · 18/03/2021 01:49

I mean, I know she said it wasn’t, and embarrassingly for her, I think she’s telling the truth.

Mamamamasaurus · 18/03/2021 01:54

Are you always this keen to share you things OP?

You are. I can't believe this thread is even real though.

PurpleTrilby · 18/03/2021 01:55

Don't care if it's a reverse. I'm here to say it's people like you that have helped kill two people close to me in the past year. So just go and fuck yourself for putting your social life first. Seriously, how dare you even ask this at the moment? Boo hoo you can't meet your friend. Who has a lot more sense than you. Fucks sake.

MrMeSeeks · 18/03/2021 02:46

Ffs i knew it.
You do not know ‘it’s just a really bad cold* unless they are tested.
The reason this will not stop when people like you decide you ‘know what it is’.
It’s rampant in schools again!
Get your kids tested, you could spread this to vulnerable people!

PerveenMistry · 18/03/2021 03:01

Why on earth wouldn't a bad cold be reason to skip a visit??!!

No wonder we are mired in a pandemic.

BeeDavis · 18/03/2021 06:51

@aibu2021

How do you know it’s not Covid then? Jesus, Mary and Joseph 🤯🤯🤯🤯
CaptainVanesHair · 18/03/2021 07:39

The thing is, even if it is just a cold, if we pass colds on to people at the moment and they get high temps or a cough, they then have to isolate and that then impacts school, work etc.

longwayoff · 18/03/2021 08:04

YABU obviously.

Cloverleaf20 · 18/03/2021 08:41

No wonder covid spread so fast with questions like this actually being asked

Orgyofsausages · 18/03/2021 08:44

Some 'friend' you are OP if you actively want to spread infections to other people.

OldEvilOwl · 18/03/2021 08:49

YABVU! If your kids are ill enough to be off school they shouldn't be going to anyone's house. This is common sense surely? I can't believe you have to ask

Blackdog19 · 18/03/2021 08:52

Silly question, how would you feel if your friend brought a horrid cold to your house so your kids ended up off school/you ended up feeling ill.

SionnachGlic · 18/03/2021 21:37

@Reallyhadenough

🤣.. the dreaded nits...!

1Morewineplease · 22/03/2021 18:44

How do you not know that a bad cold is not an excuse to meet up with someone?
