My children are off school with very bad colds (not covid!)
I want to see my friend at her house tonight we had this arranged however she's backed out last second saying that it's not a good idea to meet while my DC are poorly as she can't risk being unwell at the moment which has upset me as it's not covid and I'm not unwell.
Whose being unreasonable?

I agree with your friend OP. Even if it's not covid, why would she want to knowingly pick up a bug from you? Even if you're not unwell you could be carrying it.

Should you be meeting up anyway at the moment?

MysteriousMonkey · 17/03/2021 18:41

You are

NeverMetANiceOne · 17/03/2021 18:41

Waiting for the rest of the story....

DaisyChainsForever · 17/03/2021 18:41

You are. Just because you're not showing cold symptoms yet doesn't mean u aren't contagious.

SummerHouse · 17/03/2021 18:42

You are. Have they been tested. Thing is, I wouldn't particularly want a cold at any time, but now, if it leads to a temp, cough, loss of taste, you have isolation and testing to do. All totally unnecessary if sick people limit contact with others.

MrMeSeeks · 17/03/2021 18:42

Really?

MrMeSeeks · 17/03/2021 18:43

Have your kids actually been tested, or do you just know ‘its not covid’?

Mayorquimby2 · 17/03/2021 18:43

You

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/03/2021 18:43

Totally you! This just surely be a reverse.

Colds are bad enough (I’m hoping the “carry on as normal with a cold” culture is over now) but do you actually know it’s not COVID?

IndecentFeminist · 17/03/2021 18:44

Errr, you are, of course!

willithappen · 17/03/2021 18:44

Sorry, you are. Covid has shown us that really we weren't being as careful with passing things before. Your friend doesn't want to end up ill
Just because you are fine doesn't mean you are not carrying something. Them being ill can affect a lot for them potentially

SingANewSongChickenTikka · 17/03/2021 18:44

You are. Even slight slights are a pain to get at the moment if you end up getting a cough or temperature the impact is significant.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/03/2021 18:44

And would you really want to leave you children when they are not well?

IndecentFeminist · 17/03/2021 18:44

Reverse I expect

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 17/03/2021 18:45

Unless teens

tellmetologoffIamaMNaddict · 17/03/2021 18:45

You are

TokyoSushi · 17/03/2021 18:45

Reverse, or massive drip feed coming up!

RonSwansonsChair · 17/03/2021 18:46

You are, in case you don't know already.

Atalune · 17/03/2021 18:47

You are Grin

AyyX · 17/03/2021 18:47

Why is this even a question? Confused

WhySoSensitive · 17/03/2021 18:48

You. And you know it is.

FourEyesGood · 17/03/2021 18:49

I had what I thought was ‘just a cold’ for nearly a week, then I lost my sense of taste. Had a test, and it was Covid. YABU.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 17/03/2021 18:50

Yooooooouuuuuuuuu

Zarinea · 17/03/2021 18:50

I was musing the other day that one of the upsides of COVID is that people would become less blasé about coughing abs sneezing over each other. Clearly not.

Returnoftheowl · 17/03/2021 18:50

YABU. Even if it is "just a cold" then your friend doesn't want it.

Imagine if she caught the cold then had to take time off work etc...
