@Wearywithteens

“If I was a fighter, there's no way I'd have wanted to go up against a fighter than had been born male. But, presumably, the fighters that did had that choice and decided to.”

You presume wrong - if that’s their job they don’t have a choice. People are losing their jobs, careers and in the case of people like JK Rowling, bombarded with death and rape threats for trying to give any reasonable (and kindly worded) challenge to this dogmatic absurdity.

As Jonathan Pie put it - 'it's not the prescribed liberal view, into the incinerator you go....'. Women will and are losing their positions and jobs, and being threatened physically over speaking up about needing biological fairness in a world that values gender ideology and beliefs more.
Meredithgrey1 · 14/02/2021 17:05

Fighters are matched by category and weight

So why even have separate competitions for men and women then, if matching by weight is just fine.

CatsAndDogsAndHorses · 14/02/2021 17:05

Can you imagine the hate and abuse the female fight would get if they refused?

CatsAndDogsAndHorses · 14/02/2021 17:06

*fighter

TinyCake · 14/02/2021 17:06

@PurpleDaisies

It would have been nice to have had a warning about what was in that picture before opening the thread.
Agreed. A bit of a clue in the title might have been nice.

Not the point but do they wear helmets?

BeautifulStar · 14/02/2021 17:07

I feel physically sick. Please ask MNHQ to edit your post and put a warning on that it's grafic. I'd say it needs a trigger warning too.

Nope, you should feel sick. It’s about time people stop putting their fingers in their ears and saying “lalalala - I don’t care it doesn’t affect me”. It will start to affect every woman and girl soon if people bury their heads in the sand.

BrumBoo · 14/02/2021 17:07

True #BeKind is just for women (of the xx variety).

I am so tempted to change my username to Fuck Be Kind. It needs to be repeated until XX women know kindness is not inherently female, that we are not the sanctuary of all sweetness and good things.

dementedma · 14/02/2021 17:08

The Fallon stuff is old news, but the same principle applies in so many womens sports these todays. Rachel McKinnon, anyone?
TW are NOT W.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/02/2021 17:09

Where did I use the words 'I don't care'.

Imapotato · 14/02/2021 17:10

@CatsAndDogsAndHorses

Wow. Whether male or female they’re clearly a dick!

They're male. Hth.

Well duh

But they’re living as a female, hence the male or female comment.

I have no problem with them living as a female, but they shouldn’t be allowed to compete in this sort of sport against biological females. But what’s really disgusting is their lack of care and their attitude towards the whole thing! That’s the point!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/02/2021 17:11

I'd like you to copy and paste it on to this thread where I have used the words
I don't care. Its a big thing to accuse someone of so please back it up.

WalkingMeAway · 14/02/2021 17:15

Disgusting

Doggybiccys · 14/02/2021 17:15

UFC commentator Joe Rogan talks about Fox and sums up some of the physical advantage being born male brings;

“She wants to be able to fight women in MMA; I say no fucking way. I say if you had a dick at one point in time, you also have all the bone structure that comes with having a dick. You have bigger hands, you have bigger shoulder joints. You’re a fucking man. That’s a man, OK?”

Helenia · 14/02/2021 17:18

That's appalling.

dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 14/02/2021 17:21

@Bluntasduck

No one should be doing this "sport" anyway
I agree but if they are doing it, male-bodied people should not be competing against women.
Lightningcrops · 14/02/2021 17:25

It has gone too far. The people I feel sorry for are those who wish to live as trans, who accept that transwomen are transwomen, and transmen are transmen, and are being bundled in with those who are taking steps to erase and deny biology. After all, people have been trans for years and years without demanding all of this, this has an ulterior motive.

zoemum2006 · 14/02/2021 17:25

This sounds like bull. Fights have referees. No one should have their heads bashed in (man or woman).

You also need to be in an appropriate weight class.

This sounds like anti-trans propaganda TBH.

MoodyMarshall · 14/02/2021 17:26

@zoemum2006

Do you think, on the whole, that there are physical differences between men and women?

SakuraEdenSwan1 · 14/02/2021 17:28

The fighters know what they are up against, their choice to do it, but I see exactly your point. It's like a trans prisoner trying to get into a woman's prison.

LunaHeather · 14/02/2021 17:30

@MissMarpleDarling

I hate boxing and fully support transgender rights but that is not ok.
What do you mean by "transgender rights" please?

What sounds like bull? Fallon Fox is a real person who competed in women's MMA.
SummerBlondey · 14/02/2021 17:31

I'm so angry about this. Have discussed it many times with DH, who thinks that the only thing that will put a stop to this, is a woman getting killed by a trans gender opponent. I definitely agree.

How foes Fallon even feel victorious when "she" wins. You're a bloke FFS!

DarkDarkNight · 14/02/2021 17:32

But isn't this chosen based on weight (heavyweight, lightweight, etc)? At the end of the day someone will be stronger than their opponent.

Weight is not the only factor though is it? One competitor is biologically male with all the advantages that brings - testosterone may still be higher even if it has been reduced, bigger musculoskeletal system, longer reach etc. If Roger Federer and Serena Williams weighed the same that wouldn’t mean they were equal and ok to compete together on an equal footing.

This is barbaric, I hope the athletes sue the MMA for putting them in danger.

gardenbird48 · 14/02/2021 17:33

@BeautifulStar

all GladAllOver

Do you have a link or could you tell me the title of the piece please?

Google Fallon Fox. Fallon hid their transgender status until it became so obvious when Fallon did this to an opponent. Fallon is very proud of Fallon-self for doing this and was awarded a SportsWoman of the Year accolade for going through the terrible ordeal of being ‘outed’ (having their birth sex become blatantly obvious from their behaviour).

In other news, despite the fact that World Rugby did a high quality study that established that it is very dangerous for male bodied transgender people to play rugby in the women’s game, Stonewall are campaigning for exactly that to be allowed - regardless that women are far more likely to be seriously injured or killed.

@zoemum2006 the person in question never denied it happened. How is it 'anti-trans propaganda' to have evidence as to why sports should be sex separated? Do you think it's fair that female competitors have to go up against people born male, even though it puts them at a disadvantage?
