To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

I'm so clean I've never even had an impure thought.

AlwaysLatte · 06/02/2021 14:03

I can't believe anyone would not! Even my children from an early age wouldn't have walked out without washing their hands.

peak2021 · 06/02/2021 14:03

I do but I'm certain not everyone does.

SoupDragon · 06/02/2021 14:03

Mycat licks itself clean after a wee and a poo and she's fine!

My dog eats cat shit and is fine but that doesn't mean that it's a good idea.

Therarestone · 06/02/2021 14:05

(I bet your children do)

Happyone8 · 06/02/2021 14:07

When you don’t wash your hands - you take bacteria from the toilet area and spread it around the whole bathroom . You then add whatever germs you picked up onto the door handles . This is especially so in public toilets .
I’ve seen women leave a public toilet and not wash their hands . So they’ve touched toilet roll , the flusher , door handle of the toilet , sink , dryer , the toilet main door - spreading the germs from within the toilet area . Even if you use a tissue to protect yourself when touching all those things - you’re spreading germs for others.
I always wash my hands but as soon as I touch the dryer and main toilet door I’ll pick up whatever bugs you’ve spread around.
Nice 👍🏻 Just frigging wash your hands , it’s not hard and my toddler manages it

Cats also shite in plastic trays do you do that too @FreekStar

frazzledasarock · 06/02/2021 14:13

And this is why I hate shaking hands with people even pre-covid.

There was a thread on MN years ago about hand washing after using toilets. And most posters said they didn’t. 🤢

At one place I worked at a member of kitchen staff went to the toilet, flushed then walked out without washing her hands.
I did tell the catering manager about that.

I do wash my hands every single time I’ve including at night time I use soap eachother time as well.

StanfordPines · 06/02/2021 14:15

@FreekStar

People only don't admit it in real life because so many are like the germaphobes on this thread- or at least they pretend to be. It's fashionable to pretend to be OCD about germs. Mycat licks itself clean after a wee and a poo and she's fine!
I’m not a germaphobe. I don’t have ocd. I only use bleach once a week in the toilet, I have a bottle of antibacterial spray that I bought over a year ago and it’s still half full.

I wash my hands after every visit to the toilet because it’s basic hygiene and I cannot think of a single reason not to.

Sorry correction they haven’t touched the sink or dryer !
HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 06/02/2021 14:19

Laughing at the well my cat comparison as if cats and human habits are comparable Or worthy of adopting

Borogroves · 06/02/2021 14:23

Thank goodness for social distancing. It means I don't have to come into contact with you grubby lot that aren't washing your hands!

frazzledasarock · 06/02/2021 14:25

Cats also ‘wash’ by licking themselves all over then they go outside eat grass and vomit up hair balls.

Cats also drink water from muddy puddles in the garden.

Garden sniff each other’s bums and times lick them they’ll do it to random cats minding their own business.

Cats avoid baths as a rule.

Cats shit in trays or out in the garden in the open.

Cats piss everywhere moreso if they’re not neutered.

What’s your point? (can’t remember which poster posted about their cat licking themselves clean after a shit).

finished31 · 06/02/2021 14:37

I know - I’m in disbelief here . Can’t believe people are trying to justify it

Next it will be I wear the same knickers for 2 days because I'm really clean......Minty

Annabell80 · 06/02/2021 14:39

It's vile not to wash your hands. I do it every time, we all do.
I work in a supermarket and can just imagine gross people who haven't washed their hands picking through the fruit and veg.
Actually feel sick thinking I might have picked up something someone else with piss covered hands has touched.

Haggisfish · 06/02/2021 14:43

Yes, I deliberately piss all over my hands when having a wee. Hmm

Duckyneedsaclean · 06/02/2021 14:44

Ew

CookPassBabtridge · 06/02/2021 14:47

I never wash them after a wee at home, but always out of the house! I don't touch anything apart from my clothes 🤷🏻‍♀️

hehe! I'm wondering this too. The people saying its gross due to others having urine "all over their hands" are making me cackle. Ive never once got wee "all over my hands"- EVER. How the fck are they urinating that this happens????

How do you wipe?
Faith50 · 06/02/2021 14:53

I do.

I was taught to from a young child as do my dc.

I don’t get wee on my hands, but I still wash them. Why wouldn’t you?

Norwayreally · 06/02/2021 14:57

I think males should because they touch their genitalia to aim unless they choose to sit which barely any guys do. Females, well if your loo at home is clean and we use toilet roll to wipe so no contact with our urine or genitals then it isn’t so gross.

CounsellorTroi · 06/02/2021 15:00

Wee can soak through toilet paper.

TotorosFurryBehind · 06/02/2021 15:04

Agreed. I don't get wee on my hands and my flush and toilet seat are immaculate. It helps that DH has a separate bathroom so I know it's only me that uses mine.

If I sound like a gross person, I'm actually really OCD about hygiene and things like not having shoes on inside.
