To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

KindnessCrusader · 06/02/2021 10:59

I'm shocked people don't Confused Even if you've only done a wee the last person to use the toilet and flush might have done a poo. This is something that will bother me all weekend!

Bathbea · 06/02/2021 11:01

wee a LOT as I drink a LOT. So sometimes I can wee 3-4 times an hour if I've just exercised and drank lots during.

Even if drinking substantially above the recommended fluid intake, that's excessive. Have you had it checked out?

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 06/02/2021 11:01

Not surprised at this thread. I've seen loads of women over the years come out of cubicles in public loos and walk off without washing hands. Sometimes stopping to check their hair though

Yes, that has surprised me. I haven’t often seen it, but have noticed that you can’t tell who’s going to stroll away without washing her hands. Quite likely to be well dressed, clean-looking, even elegant.

Lelophants · 06/02/2021 11:03

Of course they don't. But most people are disgusting. It's not the wee itself but the toilet surroundings. Grim!!

Lelophants · 06/02/2021 11:03

And yes I get dry hands, but I also use handcream. And never get sick.

Lelophants · 06/02/2021 11:04

God I'm never letting anyone else make me sandwiches again 😂

SqeakyHindge · 06/02/2021 11:06

@Lelophants. This is reason why don’t keep toothbrushes in bathroom.

SmeleanorSmellstrop · 06/02/2021 11:07

I don't 🤷🏽‍♀️

ZigZaggyZoo · 06/02/2021 11:08

Some people are disgusting. Of course you should wash your hands with soap & dry them 🤢

Happyone8 · 06/02/2021 11:12

Definitely do and always have ! Gross of you don’t eugh

Washingmyself · 06/02/2021 11:13

I use handgel.

ddl1 · 06/02/2021 11:15

I'm sure not everyone does, but I do.

PixellatedPixie · 06/02/2021 11:17

I can guarantee that your front door handle, keys, mobile phone, TV remote and doorbell are more likely to have Covid or other germs than your own home toilet! Urine is usually sterile too so even if you get wee on your hands it wouldn’t matter!

I do wash my hands before touching anything in the kitchen, every time I come home from a walk or being in garage or garden etc though. I think most people’s houses have much germier places than the bathroom. I clean my toilets every day but do not clean my phone everyday - although I probably should!

Tianatiers · 06/02/2021 11:17

What is this? I was my hands after I've been to the toilet whether a number 1 or 2 surely that's normal?

@SqeakyHindge - why not wash your hands then use hand gel after opening the door? What an attitude to have. You're one of the people responsible for viruses and illnesses spreading. How revolting."

Give over I haven’t left the house in almost a year!

Perhaps you do well taking food hygiene course you see how pointless that is*.

u been amaze what your suitcase picks up or when your kid get threads worms have made me OTT. it took my child to make me realise had issue, after few months his hands no longer show any signs of what overwashing has done.

I think I got the gist of your post but who knows.
You said in your previous post that you don't wash your hands after going to the train station toilet because you have to touch the door to get out, thus transferring whatever germs you had on your hands after visiting the toilet back onto the door handle for the next person to touch. You then use hand gel after touching the handle on the way out. I can't believe that an adult, who is responsible for children, thinks that washing their hands after visiting the train station is 'pointless'. I think you're the one who needs to do a basic hygiene course. When I did the food hygiene course for work not once did they ever say that handwashing after visiting the toilet, especially train station toilets, was 'pointless'. You might think you won't get ill by using hand gel after you leave but what about other users of the toilet? What if they don't have hand gel to use after the touching the door handle you've just covered with bacteria? As long as you're ok though hey. Fuck everybody else. You spread as much bacteria as you like, it's not your problem is it? Jesus Christ. Some people are so fucking selfish. And thick.

IDontLikeZombies · 06/02/2021 11:21

It's not the cleanliness of the bathroom surroundings that matter it's the cleanliness of your lower intestine that's the issue. Everyone's bum is full of bacteria that can make you sick, they don't just live in your bum, they can survive on the warm, moist skin about the bum crack as well as some other bits as well.
Unless you are sterilising your anus after every bowel motion there is no way that you don't have any of these bacteria on your skin. When you wipe after a pee you can transfer these bacteria to your hands and if you don't wash your hands you transfer them all over your home. Seriously, hands need washing after any trip to the toilet.

Totally. This is the general mentality . F*CK everyone else . I'm alright Jack .this is why were in the mess we are in, cos people don't give a shit about anyone else.
Fuckmyliferightnow · 06/02/2021 11:24

Urine is only sterile whilst it's still in your bladder.

GlamOfRags · 06/02/2021 11:26

Ofcourse I do,after everytime I use the toilet doesn't matter what time it is in the night!I've raised my child to do the same too.

ancientgran · 06/02/2021 11:29

I always wash my hands when I've been to the loo, even in the middle of the night, even if I'm ill and can barely stand. I couldn't leave the bathroom without, I also couldn't go to bed without brushing my teeth. I guess it is how you are brought up, my kids are the same.

springiscoming12 · 06/02/2021 11:29

What the hell, of course you do, those of you saying you don’t are disgusting

ancientgran · 06/02/2021 11:31

@Tianatiers

You'd think so.
kissmelittleass · 06/02/2021 11:32

YABU of course you should wash your hands after using the toilet wee or poo!!
You are then touching food and items round the house and some are other family members and most people go on then to touch their face hair etc 🤮

ancientgran · 06/02/2021 11:33

When my kids were little they have asked why that lady hasn't washed her hands. It can be a little awkward but at least I knew they didn't need me to remind them it was the right thing to do.
SqeakyHindge · 06/02/2021 11:37

@Beseigedbykillersquirrels is being obnoxious due to having bad day or something?

The train station toilet I have used in past I make my children wait outside because it’s so grim. Just taking piss hoovering over the seat is a risk. Catching germs of that handle is least risk of all.

I already stated my hand hygiene in posts, it’s also an issue that become OTT that had impacted on daily life, having to touching bus stop bell, I’ve missed my stop a few times. That’s just top of iceberg. It also something kids learnt not in good way.

So as for saying I’m selfish & thick. Can you guess the word I’m thinking that sums up you right now.
