To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

OP posts:

If urine was such a good antiseptic the theatre team would chug some Evian and piss on the wounds to aid recovery
They’d Call the families to request bring water for the staff get them hydrated and ready to clean up

Out of interest, all the urine is clean exponents. Would you let the anaesthetist or nurse Urinate on you after a Caesarian, heal the wound?

AgnesNaismith · 06/02/2021 00:54

I know, @BohemianDream, I know.

Still disgusting not to wash your hands though.

Moneyfornothingkerbsforfree · 06/02/2021 00:55

Do the ‘wee is sterile!!’ simpletons just piss on their kitchen counters then? To clean them? Why not? 🥴
I’ve seen a load of posters here over the years tell on themselves for not washing their hands after changing a kids nappy. Sometimes wiping their filthy hands with a wet wipe instead, at best. People are absolutely repugnant. Never eat in peoples houses, or food they’ve made.

😂😂

And on that note ... Don’t remember ever washing my hands after changing a nappy. Unless I got a swear of poo on them. In which case I’d have given it a quick wizz over with a wet wipe.

BohemianDream · 06/02/2021 00:57

@HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee
Only if that anaesthetist or nurse was smoking hot and I felt partial to a bit of watersports afterwards, of course.

Hedwigtheowl · 06/02/2021 00:57

Utterly rank. Wash your hands!

JengaJanga · 06/02/2021 00:58

Always and with 99.9% anti bacteria soap only!!!!

BohemianDream · 06/02/2021 01:01

This thread has made my pissy day a lot happier.
Thank you all for your input.

The amount of people I used to see at work leave the bathroom cubicles without washing their hands was ridiculous. You've touched your bum, and touched the cubicle handles/locks other people who haven't washed their hands have also touched, and now you're going to make all your teammates a cup of tea... Never looked at those colleagues in the same way again!

RoseMartha · 06/02/2021 01:06

I do. Bit of a compulsive hand washer before covid so I am a bit more obsessed now.

But I dont think the dc always do especially if they get up at night.

BigBadVoodooHat · 06/02/2021 01:09

Sterile means ‘free from bacteria’, which is not the same as being antibacterial.

So a sterile substance doesn’t necessarily have any inherent cleaning properties.

DavidsSchitt · 06/02/2021 01:11

Ewwww, David

Lovely1a2b3c · 06/02/2021 01:16

Not everyone does; everyone should.

Not everyone washes their hands after defecating, before eating or after picking up dog's mess either... they just should.

When you pee and handle the flush then you hand gets faecal bacteria on it from the flush. Urine is not sterile despite what people like to believe and washing your hands after going to the toilet (regardless of the number) is just basic hygiene.

eaglejulesk · 06/02/2021 01:16

I live alone, so no. I'm 61 and haven't caught anything nasty yet!!!

Lovely1a2b3c · 06/02/2021 01:17
  • your hand gets, not you hand gets
WaxOnFeckOff · 06/02/2021 01:18

Isn't it just automatic? My brain wouldn't allow me not to wash my hands and I'm by no means a germaphobe. Always after the toilet - even just a wee. After handling the dirty laundry, doing pet things and before, during and after preparing food or loading the dishwasher, after cleaning.

Sounds like a lot but just basic hygiene, obvs in current times maybe a couple extra i.e. after shopping.

Maybe I do have an issue - i feel weird in the shower if I haven't brushed my teeth - part of the routine I guess, wee, wash hands, brush teeth, shower.

EmilyEmmabob · 06/02/2021 01:22

So putting your hand near your ass isn't a good enough reason to wash your hands? And what about the person in your house that's been for a shit, flushed the toilet before they washed their hands? You've touched the flush handle next, you don't know what state their hands were in when they touched that handle.

Honestly; this thread is grim. Have we learnt nothing over the last 12 months? Ok

sst1234 · 06/02/2021 01:24

Wow the fact this question has been asked and people agree with OP shows shockingly bad levels of hygiene people have. Dirty and disgusting.

DumpedWife · 06/02/2021 01:26

🤮🤢 Gross!! Some really gross people on here.

Nah. I always have washed my hands after using the loo. If you touch the lid, seat or flush and don't that's just grim.

I imagine the same people wash their loo brush in the dishwasher and don't put the lid down before flushing, even with the pot of family tooth brushes enjoying toilet flush splatter on them.

Rubybluesy · 06/02/2021 01:26

Of course I do! And before eating, prepping food etc
It's a must

PADH · 06/02/2021 01:35

Feelingconfused2020 · 06/02/2021 01:36

@ktp100 not a piss take, no. And yet we all survive, as do our children..

Actually this is clearly wrong, we don't all survive. People die all the time from infections they caught from unknown sources and from complications.such as sepsis caused by infections.which may.orginally.have been.mimor .People are catching covid from surfaces and one of the earliest things we were told about covid is that hand washing is our best defence.

MyVikingLife · 06/02/2021 01:40

OMG, what is it with the English, you don’t shower daily and you don’t wash your hands after using the toilet. Completely gross and disgusting.

Providora · 06/02/2021 01:47

I don't i'm the middle of the night, for the same reason I don't turn on the light - it makes me more alert so it's harder to get back to sleep.

I accept that this is disgusting for the reasons outlined above Grin

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 06/02/2021 01:53

@MyVikingLife, hey I’m not English so I can’t give and explanation why they don’t wash

Jenasaurus · 06/02/2021 02:14

A thought occured to me while reading this, do you wash your hands after sex, masturbation etc, I mean jump out of bed and wash your hands because its the same thing really, touching your nether regions, you should wash them I guess
