To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

Of course you wash your hands every single time you have been to the loo. Otherwise you are setting your piss (and poo from the flush button) fingers all over your house. Every door handle, the kitchen cupboards, fridge even your dc 🤮.

Whodofthunk · 05/02/2021 23:54

@BohemianDream

God sake, admit to not washing your hands after every single wee and your obviously a dirty covid spreading genocidal bastard Grin mn is amazing.
Ha yes! Sorry everyone, despite the fact I can count my outings (all of which have been essential) in the last year on one hand and have washed my hands before and after going out and used a mask and hand gel...it's my fault, covid was all me because I do not see a need to wash my hands with hot soapy water after a wee in my clean bathroom that only I use Grin
CornedBeef451 · 05/02/2021 23:54

I was mine after every wee, every time I've even touched the loo or flush handle. I can't believe you don't!

Fridget · 05/02/2021 23:55

Yes I do! Not happy birthday twice at home after a wee but soap and water. It’s habit.

But it’s a good point from the poster above about oral sex - does everyone make their partner wash immediately before that for fear of any urine?

I think people should wash their hands and it is a bit grim but I’m not quite as grossed out about it as other people. Why is it more gross than not washing your hands after every sneeze cough?

MaxNormal · 05/02/2021 23:56

This thread is absolutely hilarious, I love the ever increasing rage and disgust levels.
I have actual OCD and you're all much madder than me Grin

RagzReturnsRebooted · 05/02/2021 23:56

@justabigdisco

I wash them more these days than I used to. But not after every single wee, no.
Ditto

Yet, I'm a nurse and at work I'm washing my hands at least 5 times an hour and sanitising every few minutes! Plus clean my phone and ID card, desk, keyboard, door handles....
My hands like a break when I'm at home!

Lalliella · 05/02/2021 23:56

Ewww this thread is vile. I can’t believe so many people don’t wash their hands after a wee. GERMS! Yuck!

Pjsandbaileys · 05/02/2021 23:57

I have to or I hear my mother's voice in my head telling me to wash them lol

ineedaholidaynow · 05/02/2021 23:57

Do people who don’t wash their hands at home, wash them when they are out and about?

The ones whose children don’t wash them at home do you tell them to wash their hands if they use the toilet at school?

RagzReturnsRebooted · 05/02/2021 23:57

I'm meant to be flushing every time now too?!
RantyAnty · 05/02/2021 23:58

Live alone but still wash afterwards and use hand sanitiser the occasion I don't.

radicalnotion · 05/02/2021 23:58

This thread is just....yeuch. So many dirty people around.

Five67Eight · 05/02/2021 23:58

Between this and the ‘do you let your dog lick your plate before putting it in the dishwasher?’ thread... 😑

Ignorance truly is bliss.

Cissyandflora · 05/02/2021 23:58

@Shaniac

3rd world countries have better hygeine than many on mumsnet. Fucking hell.

Hundreds of years ago people discovered soap and water helped stop many infections. Now 2021 people think they dont need to bother being clean.

It’s so depressing to think that we are having this conversation during a global pandemic too. Really unbelievable.

And the men and boys in my home are all taught to wash hands too. It’s automatic. Basic hygiene. If everyone was more hygienic - just by this simple measure of washing hands and being aware of contamination, then there would be fewer viruses and people would not spread bacteria as much.

strudsespark · 05/02/2021 23:59

@RagzReturnsRebooted
Yes please, oink oink Grin.

ineedaholidaynow · 05/02/2021 23:59

I’m quite glad there is so much sanitising going on in supermarkets not just because of COVID but because of the skanky people on here.

vulturedudess · 05/02/2021 23:59

I always do even if sometimes it's just a quick rinse without soap. It's disgusting how many women walk straight out of public toilets without washing their hands Envy

We only do oral after recently showering, yes. I don’t want urine in my mouth 🤢
ThatsnotmyBorishishairistoneat · 05/02/2021 23:59

Yes I do

Shaniac · 05/02/2021 23:59

I have ocd as well but i dont think the disgust levels are unwarrented. I remember studying medicine through time for gcse and the massive effect of washing hands had on publuc health. Even now many viruses could be prevented if everyone washed their hands after every single loo visit. Why is there so much pride here in being an animal?

Haggisfish · 05/02/2021 23:59

Of course I wash them when out and about because there are people other than me and my family using the toilets. Any ‘germs’ I have will be carried by my family as well. We aren’t fucking going anywhere at the moment and fresh piss is sterile anyway. And I don’t routinely piss on my hands anyway.

MiaMc · 05/02/2021 23:59

But it’s a good point from the poster above about oral sex - does everyone make their partner wash immediately before that for fear of any urine?

Not really relevant . I’ve never seen anyone use their mouth to open a door.

sharonJJ55 · 06/02/2021 00:00

@heatedroller I can't believe you're even questioning whether not washing your hands after going to the toilet is ok! It's basic hygiene! Have you learnt nothing about the germs and bacteria involved in going to loo? So you're spreading the germs on everything you touch after visiting the loo. And what's the reasons for not washing? Laziness? Yuk you need to up your hygiene game

SimonJT · 06/02/2021 00:00

Urine isn’t sterile.

Do you wash your hands before you leave the house?

Procrastination4 · 06/02/2021 00:00

I actually can’t believe this thread! Surely it is automatic to wash your hands after using the toilet, regardless? That’s basic hygiene, and I would have thought people would have trained their children to wash their hands after going to the bathroom. Why, just because it’s in your own home, would you not wash your hands? Do some people think hand washing is just for show, then? So you do it in public and not in your own home? No wonder there has had to be such a widespread campaign about hand washing if people don’t even have the habit of washing their hands after using the bathroom. They probably don’t wash their hands before preparing food or eating either. Absolutely gross!
