To think not everyone washes their hands after every single wee when in their own home?

Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

Oh and I don’t sneeze or cough into my hands! Elbow or tissue!

LynetteScavo · 06/02/2021 00:00

Uh! Just wash your hands people! I'm going to wash my hands even more now I know how many people don't wash their hands. And it seems I wash my hands a lot compares to others.

TableFlowerss · 06/02/2021 00:01

No I don’t because I know my toilet is clean as is my arse...! A poo yes I do! If I think someone else has had a poo in that loo then I’ll wipe it with bleach first then use it for the rest of the day for my wees 😬

JM10 · 06/02/2021 00:01

Maybe not 20 seconds every time, but yes every time. I can't believe people don't!

Mingkong · 06/02/2021 00:01

@ineedaholidaynow

Do people who don’t wash their hands at home, wash them when they are out and about?

The ones whose children don’t wash them at home do you tell them to wash their hands if they use the toilet at school?

My daughters always tell me that very few kids in their classes wash their hands after the loo. Years 6 and 9. Old enough to know better. Grim. I reckon people don't change / wash masks regularly, then transfer invisible mask juice all over the place .
Shaniac · 06/02/2021 00:02

Also TEACH YOUR FUCKING SONS TO WASH THEIR HANDS. BEING MALE IS NOT AN EXCUSE TO BE DIRTY. Is incredible the amount of people are dismissing their sons and partners not washing just because they are male.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 06/02/2021 00:02

As you so eloquently put it fresh piss is sterile anyway ⬅️ No not true
Much loved and repeated by mingers everywhere and not true. Urine is not aseptic

sharonJJ55 · 06/02/2021 00:02

AND splashing water on your hands doesn't count! You need soap too!

nervalslobster · 06/02/2021 00:03

I always wash my hands. Just an automatic thing to do. I also always put the lid down when flushing, and toothbrushes are stored in the cupboard under the sink.

PattyPan · 06/02/2021 00:03

I can’t believe people don’t think germs can transfer onto their hand when wiping. Would you trust a face mask made of loo roll to protect you?

Haggisfish · 06/02/2021 00:03

@SimonJT yes I do. And when I get in from going outside. And I wash at other people’s houses, obviously.

grapewine · 06/02/2021 00:03

A very brisk splash under water and wipe with towel after wee, a soapy hand wash after poo.

Great reminder why I'm not using the hand towels in other people's bathrooms.

elizabethdraper · 06/02/2021 00:04

urine is sterile
i drink that much water i piss water
any germs in my body, my family also have in their bodies so MEH

PickAChew · 06/02/2021 00:04

Piss ceases being sterile the moment it leaves the urethra.

SimonJT · 06/02/2021 00:04

Why do you think urine is sterile?
Fridget · 06/02/2021 00:04

@PattyPan

Oh and I don’t sneeze or cough into my hands! Elbow or tissue!
I sneeze into tissues too. Why does urine go through toilet tissue but germs from coughs and sneezes don’t go through tissues?

I’m not a scientist so am open to an explanation for that!

MiaMc · 06/02/2021 00:04

Fuck me it’s like talking to the parish council
ineedaholidaynow · 06/02/2021 00:04

When I was a parent volunteer I used to have to do cloakroom duty so stand by the sinks to remind children to wash hands after going to the loo and before they went to lunch. There were many who tried to get away with not washing. I thought they were just being defiant, it appears they were doing what they were taught to do at home 🤮

Fifthtimelucky · 06/02/2021 00:05

I am quite slovenly by Mumsnet standards. I don't change my bed linen or towels as often as most people seem to do, I am not very diligent when it comes to housework, and I often eat food past its use by date.

However, I can't imagine going to the loo and not washing my hands after.

Shaniac · 06/02/2021 00:05

Glad im not alone here. My toothbrush lives in my bedroom on my dresser next to my make up.

strudsespark · 06/02/2021 00:06

I need to start asking people this before accepting an invitation. Don't want to risk 'Have a lovely glass of red? (all smeared in host's piss&poo)'.

You lot are gross, no your loo isn't clean unless you have just bleached it and don't use it.

Fridget · 06/02/2021 00:06

@MiaMc

But it’s a good point from the poster above about oral sex - does everyone make their partner wash immediately before that for fear of any urine?

Not really relevant . I’ve never seen anyone use their mouth to open a door.

It’s relevant to the absolute hysteria about getting urine bacteria in one’s mouth if hands aren’t washed.
PattyPan · 06/02/2021 00:06

@fridget you’re supposed to wash your hands after disposing of tissues as well!

enuffalreadyffs · 06/02/2021 00:06

Well this is proof that people are fucking disgusting.

Of course you should wash your hands - WITH SOAP - after every toilet visit regardless of what you pass into the toilet. Why is that hard to understand? s

ineedaholidaynow · 06/02/2021 00:07

Where possible I wash/clean my hands after using a tissue. Now carry a bottle of hand sanitiser in my coat pocket so that makes it easier when out and about.
