Anything other than a wee, yes of course.

But washing hands after every bloody wee is overkill in my opinion

Sorry about typos above !!

This is fucking rank. I feel queasy after reading all these posts from filthy articles that don't wash their hands after going to the toilet. And the one who drip dries in her knickers then goes back to bed has absolutely disgusted me. All that bother of changing sheets twice a week, clean pjs and clothes every day, all that laundry because they can't be fucking bothered to wipe themselves after a wee.
It'd have to be a conscious effort to not wash my hands after going to the loo. It's so automatic to flush and then wash my hands I'd have to consciously and physically stop myself from doing it. Obviously the people on here saying they don't bother have never really got into the habit of basic, let alone good, hygiene, otherwise they've decided to unlearn something that most parents teach their kids as soon as they learn to use a potty. It's laughable that these dirty pieces claim their toilets are spotless and cleaned daily. And as for urine being sterile, good grief. It really is no surprise that covid has ripped through the country when there people freely admitting they barely bother to wash their hands after visiting the filthiest room of the house. Absolutely disgusting.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 05/02/2021 23:39
@shouldreallynamechangemore if someone can't be assed using basic hygiene and wash their hands after having a wee, do you genuinely believe they will wash them before preparing food?? ;)

I am an absolute minger by mn standards, have never used sterile hand wash in my life, don't shower every day and I'd hate to admit how often I change my bedsheets. But this has blown my tiny middle aged mind! Didn't know people would actually do this. Or not do this, should I say.

But hey you live and learn, and I'm def going to be asking my mates!!
They'll say yes, no one will admit it IRL

Mingkong · 05/02/2021 23:40

@Moneyfornothingkerbsforfree

I never do. In or out of the home. Pre or post covid. Immune system strong as an ox 💪
What about other peoples' immune systems !!!! How do you think the germs you are transferring affects them ???!!!
MiaMc · 05/02/2021 23:40

So you use a public toilet, open the door, lock the door, lift the lid, touch the loo roll dispenser, flush etc.... and then you don’t wash your hands Biscuit

Thanks for adding weight to the delusional optimism theory though.

PattyPan · 05/02/2021 23:40

@BohemianDream

I don't always bother after a pee no. I don't see how the tiniest trace of piss going to be harmful in way. It's no big deal surely? I don't see what that has to do with preparing food, obviously I know that I'm going to eat and will wash my hands before, but not because I'm scared there's any urine on them. Jesus, have none of you ever been camping.
I am a camping fanatic and I still look after basic hygiene while camping Confused If I have to go to the loo behind a bush I use hand gel! I still clean my teeth when camping too Confused
AntiHop · 05/02/2021 23:41

Urine is not sterile.

Toilet paper does not stop bacteria getting on your hands.

You are disgusting.

MiaMc · 05/02/2021 23:41

@Mreggsworth

A very brisk splash under water and wipe with towel after wee, a soapy hand wash after poo.
You’ve basically just contaminated the towel.
BohemianDream · 05/02/2021 23:41

God sake, admit to not washing your hands after every single wee and your obviously a dirty covid spreading genocidal bastard Grin mn is amazing.

foxhat · 05/02/2021 23:43

Rank. Completely rank.

DaphneDuBois · 05/02/2021 23:43

I do. I would never go to the toilet and not wash my hands.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/02/2021 23:43

Most of us don't wash our hands properly after every wee, let's just admit it....20 seconds, lathering every part of the hand and drying your hands properly with a clean towel or paper towel?

Shaniac · 05/02/2021 23:44

Ew how dirty are people?! Of course you should wash your hands after every wee. Why would you not?! And why do you view having a shit as different to a wee? Do you cover your hands in your own shit? No? Then why do you feel the need to wash then then but not after a wee?

saggybaps · 05/02/2021 23:44

Always have and always will do. Your post explains to me why Covid has run through the country like a dose of salts and I’m actually quite shocked. Wash. Your. Hands.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/02/2021 23:44

A quick soapy rinse and patting a towel isn't it.

PattyPan · 05/02/2021 23:47

@CayrolBaaaskin

Yanbu op. It’s bad for skin to wash hands too much and no need after a wee in your own home
ConfusedEnvy

The risk of harm from not washing your hands far outweighs the risk of harm from washing your hands too much - and I speak as someone with eczema between the fingers!

Shaniac · 05/02/2021 23:47

Theres a reason every public touch surface including card readers and mcdonalds touch screens have been shown to be covered in human urine and fecal matter.

HeelsHandbagPerfumeCoffee · 05/02/2021 23:48

Hand washing is the easiest,most effective hygiene strategy you can use
Soap and hot water disrupt and deactivate virus

LindaEllen · 05/02/2021 23:49

I do. I know for a fact the two males in my house don't.

tothesea · 05/02/2021 23:49

Urghhh wash your hands!!

Totally agree with you. And as if the people who don’t wash their hands are actually going to bother to clean their loos. And someone saying they change the sheets twice a week because they can’t be bothered to wipe their bum! And fresh nightclothes daily because they don’t use loo roll? All very odd and it’s no wonder we have national campaigns imploring people to have basic hygiene. Jeeeeez.
PattyPan · 05/02/2021 23:50

@BohemianDream

I wouldn’t say genocidal but yes not washing your hands spreads germs, that is the basis of infection control! Hmm
goldfishblub · 05/02/2021 23:51

This is shocking !
I always wash my hands with soap and water after any visit to the toilet. Even if it's helping my daughter after a wee or poo.

I got sick once because my friend thought it was ok to wipe her hands with dettol wipes after changing her DDs nappy and then prepare food. Turns out she had a sickness bug and we all got it too.

Kljnmw3459 · 05/02/2021 23:52

It's not just people who don't wash their hands that spread germs but people who don't do it correctly every single time. That's most people on the planet including the hand washers on this thread.

Shaniac · 05/02/2021 23:52

3rd world countries have better hygeine than many on mumsnet. Fucking hell.

Hundreds of years ago people discovered soap and water helped stop many infections. Now 2021 people think they dont need to bother being clean.
