Call me nosey but at 25 I’d not quite got into the sector I’m in now and at 35, I’d already started on my career path. Went to university, had my kids afterwards, but was done by the time I was 30yrs old. I’ll start £19,000 and £30,000. I will admit that it has accelerated since. But more interested in those crucial child rearing years between 25-35.

25 - Roughly £39k
30 - Roughly £65k

Had 1 year of maternity from age 29-30. Currently pregnant so expect another year of maternity from age 31-32.

Expecting to be on mid-70s possibly 80ish by age 35.

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 05/02/2021 13:00

Had two kids between 26 and 31 but went back to same employer both times, did a brief stint part time then back to full time. I’m the main earner though.

TinyTroubleMaker · 05/02/2021 13:01

Not a linear picture.

First grad job in 200, £17k in London, barely covered costs
Age 25 another job up to about £25k
That rose and in successive jobs was in £35k plus bonuses and commissions by age 30. But still not huge salary for London
On becoming a lone parent, in another part of the country one job £30k and another £26k
But then I worked hard, proved myself and now age nearly 40, on nearer £42k after promotion. And the money goes further here, a lot further.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/02/2021 13:12

I was on benefits at 25. I earn £8.75ph now at 30. I expect to be on a salary by age 35 but not a high one, about £23k is the average at my company. It's unskilled work though, I've no qualifications and no desire to be a high earner.

Cam2020 · 05/02/2021 13:19

25 - 26k (29k including bonus)
35 - 45kish (55ish Inc bonus)
Nearing 40 50k (60ish Inc bonus)

KarlUrbansWife · 05/02/2021 13:19

25 yo - £23k plus commission and bonuses
35 yo - ~£55k plus bonuses. I had one child by this point.

MyAnacondaMight · 05/02/2021 13:21

As an example without any child rearing:
25: c.£30k
35: c.£120k

Friends in the same field who had children in that period mostly plateaued at management level - so around £80k.

Littlepies · 05/02/2021 13:22

Like some PP’s, my salary went down in these years.

25- £31,000
35- £18,000

SleepingStandingUp · 05/02/2021 13:23

25: about 20k 15 years ago
35: about £64 a week

Bagelsandbrie · 05/02/2021 13:24

25 - 30K
35 - nothing. Chronic disabilities.
