I like Only Connect, but my word, Victoria Coren Mitchell is, as my teenage DD would say, totally cringe.

I really like her, she is one of a small number of women in entertainment that doesn’t feel the need to play down her intelligence. I don’t like that program at all though.

The only thing wrong with OC (apart from the singing) is the incredibly annoying final round. After all the knowledge and clever deductive skills needed for the earlier rounds, spotting missing vowel patterns is just such a weedy let-down. I wish they'd come up with a better idea.

I think my husband would be devastated if they did that, it's his favourite round! I think it's because I usually beat him on the wall and he needs to show off .

i love her, she's supposed to be cringe-making. I love the hieroglyphs too if the team says "horn'ed viper" i automatically support the others. If they both do i shout things at them.
I also love the way they really try very hard to have the most utterly dire, nerdy, niche hobby and then try to be all nonchalant about it as though anyone else cares one way or another.
One of the best programmes the BBC has ever broadcast..

I think she is great too. The jokes are cringe and aren't funny but they don't bother me. I absolutely can't stand her brother though he is obnoxious pretentious arrogant jerk.

She's an intellectual snob. She pretends to be down with the people with her references to Max Bygraves. I like Only Connect though.

Monday evening television is the best, though I agree that Mastermind is showing its age. VCB is perfect for Only Connect.’

They are her own, and if you can catch on to them are often referring to something a bit scandalous, naughty. Or are just plain rude, dressed up as prudish nonsense.

I agree she’s great. The shoes great.
Considering it has potential to be the driest most boring show ever. It’s actually brilliant and that’s pretty much down to her.

I don't think the vc on oc IS trying to be on our level. That's the whole point. It's like some weird parallel universe where everyone is terribly genteel and posh and clever. It's basically how I imagined suburban middle class people to be when I was young and scared of middle class people. People who grew up listening to radio 4 and going to the theatre and having conversations and that But then the 90s happened and wc was where it was at, so the world of oc became dated. Which is celebrated in....oc!

God, I haven't seen this showing ages but DH and I absolutely loved it. We used to laugh so much at all the rubbish answers we churned out whilst trying to look clever.

I never used to like her - famous dad giving her opportunities others don't have - but I saw her do an excellent feminist take down of some misogynistic dick on Have I Got News For You. She was awesome.
I think she's goofy, funny and all around hilarious.

I quite like her and love the show. I was ridiculously pleased with myself last night when I got 3 of the links and the whole of the first wall. The only bits I can do relatively easily is the missing vowels round.

We love Only Connect. Nothing like a University Challenge and OC double header. Like the fact it gives "quirky" people their moment in the sun, too.

I love her, she’s so clever and very funny. I often think about how great it would be to be invited round for dinner with her and David.

I don't know - the company would be great, but I heard her on the Off Menu podcast and her approach to food is... surprising...!

Monday night is our favourite night of the week because of Only Connect (in lockdown ). We're already thinking about how we'll cope when it ends. I wish they would put old episodes on iplayer.
