I like Only Connect, but my word, Victoria Coren Mitchell is, as my teenage DD would say, totally cringe.

I'm feeling a bit thick tonight, as I don't even get the joke LunaNorth referred to. I am missing something!

I did get one or two of this week's ones, like the musical symbols, but rarely get anything else as I don't know any of the famous people or TV or anything. sometimes the wordy ones. And I'm good at missing vowels, usually.

I wish there was a template of some sort that would let you create your own quiz based on this to play over Zoom with a group of people in teams. But I don't know how it would work to buzz in, with all the delays of internet and so on. And it would be more fun if everyone could try all the questions somehow, but not very fair if those with fastest internet always got recognised first. Even if the internet speeds were the same, I don't know how you'd have that sort of 'buzzing' competition. But it would be fun.

I think she's great, and enjoy the cringey moments, which is totally deliberate. I've never quite worked out how much of it she sets herself, as I know there was some joke with one of the quiz setters being her under another name or something. She must know enough about the answers to know what to accept, or to add extra comments etc, and although I'm sure she researches them beforehand, it can't be totally new to her, so she must be very well-rounded in her knowledge.

We love VCM and her weird monologues and Michael Portillo jokes. I especially liked her on I’ll Get This when she threw in a grand in cash, the other contestants faces were priceless.
