Getting the contestants singing is a touch of genius! Brings out the geekiest, most awkward side of everyone but I just love how they give it a go.

gad, I made the mistake of telling dh that VCM and Claudia are BFFs, he's gone all moony and silly. They would both be on his list.

We laugh when the callow youths are overcome with embarrassment at having to say " Horned Viper " out loud to VCM as if it is really rude and provocative. and then don't answer the question cos presumably all the blood has drained from their brains

I did EXTREMELY well last week with both connecting walls, I usually get most of the connections, but often miss the word ones cos I am looking too hard
I also got the HenryEighth one and the 76 trombones ones....5 points to me! But that's mainly cos I am impulsive and shout out the first thing in my head! :o

Finally watched it, I also got the Henry viii one, and the whale one! I found the wall tricksy this week, but got all the musical signs connection which I was v pleased with.

I'm actually still chuckling at the thought of VCM talking about Max Bygraves in an attempt to be down with the people!

Got Whale, Henry VIII, this week early on, also 76 trombones.

I'm interested in going on, have wanted to do a family team for ages, but DH not keen 😢

It was a terrible example. Sorry!! I'm finding it hard to express what I mean. She shouts at the contestants if they don't recognise people from more popular culture trying to show that she's not a cultural snob. I don't dislike VCM really. I think her performance is meant to be slightly irritating.

I am very good at the missing vowels so we should make a good team. Plus they like having women on. OK, next series I'll look up this thread and contact you. My Dh wants to call us 'the mumsnetters' 😂

We love LOVE Victoria Coren-Mitchell and Only Connect in our house.

True story: I once went to a 'come as your hero' themed party and my costume was VCM. Everyone there was pretty 'cool' so mostly had not heard of her I had a lush blonde wig and made fake Only Connect quiz cards with missing vowels rounds on them.

Also I once saw David Mitchell in the street and may have followed him a fair distance pondering how I could possibly introduce myself without being weird. He can walk at quite a speed with such little legs.
