.....if VCM calmed down a bit. I like Only Connect, but my word, Victoria Coren Mitchell is, as my teenage DD would say, totally cringe.

I really miss the Walls you could play on the programme website - you could solve them online and for some reason the BBC got rid of them. VC made encouraging remarks when you failed miserably and you got the music when you solved one.

It’s my favourite half hour of the week. I am bereft when the series finishes. I am reasonably good at answering the questions but would never have the nerve to go on TV.

Ha, we love her, and the singing is more or less weekly.

We watch each week, mainly to see if we can score any points whatsoever. And we have a really complicated scoring system for us being a team of only two -which means we can cheat- and so we get a respectable end result.

Yep.

I used to love Only Connect, but recently it's just become too difficult to be enjoyable. I perk up for the last round, which is now the only round I'm any good at!

I love her and the show.
If you search on iPlayer you can find the first series where she is a lot more straight laced and doesn't have the same rapport with the teams and there's none of the 'cringe' jokes. It really doesn't work as well. I like it now she's more relaxed.

I like the show and suspect that I’d like her in person but find the whole funny/not funny cringy thing very annoying. Did anyone actually enjoy that total drivel about quizzing her husband and family at the end of tonight’s show?

I have a friend who lives the first round and is all excited about a new series. But she gets really angry (joke angry, she has a great way with words) as each series progresses. She said tonight she is down to just the missing vowels round now! 😁

Oh, she's fab on it. The only thing I find a little weird is when she references Michael Portillo at the end of almost every episode! Borderline obsessive....

I like her, she's a really funny writer as well. She wrote a brilliant article about her father's memorial service and a group of professional memorial service attendees. It reminded me of Blanche in Corrie going to funerals for the buffet.

I don't think so. I've been watching it since season 1, and it's just got gradually harder. I suppose it becomes more and more difficult to find connections, so the question setters have to find more and more obscure ones!

I used to play Internet poker & was on the forums in the day. (2+2). There was a massive thread, populated by poker nerds, discussing her chest. She came on the thread & commented. Can't remember what was said but was super-impressed with her.

Years and years ago, there was a website that had the walls rounds, as a computer quiz. Loved it! But then it disappeared. I wish it would come back. It's the perfect computer game.
