These are mine - and yes, even now, if I can get myself into focussing on the now, I can feel happy in the moment of drinking these in....

  • The four beautiful snowdrops that are now out in the garden
  • Our dog having a great dream, full of wuffles and twitches
  • The vaccination numbers each day - I can't believe we have now vaccinated more than 1 in 10 of the UK population! Phenomenal
  • Good food... yup, sitting down and eating something I enjoy like scrambled eggs or a bowl of good soup makes me feel so much better... and even cherished

Such a nice thread! For me: cuddles with my elderly cat; knitting a new project; playing piano; croissant and good coffee every morning at my little side table; perfume every day according to my mood.

Borridge · 23/01/2021 21:41

My new fancy kitchen radio (thank you, DH!)

Some beautiful fish cooked to perfection tonight.

Selection of new wines in our cellar.

A new job (still a bit nervous).

Bumblebee1980a · 23/01/2021 21:44

My DS (4)
Snow
Netflix
Going to bed

Echobelly · 23/01/2021 21:50

Days getting lighter

Have taken out a subscription to an arts streaming service so I can watch opera, ballet and dance in my spare time and I find it very uplifting

I think (with DH's help) I might finally be getting on top of clearing my kitchen every evening so it's not horribly messy 90% of the time.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 23/01/2021 21:53

Daily exercise
Flowers
Cheap oysters from Morrison’s (sorry, fishermen who have been shafted by Brexit...)

Robotcustard · 23/01/2021 21:54

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 23/01/2021 22:08

My cat
My Kindle
Fresh bedding on a Saturday
DP bringing me a bacon sandwich in bed this morning

Also, vases of £1 daffodils all over the house, a pot of hyacinths in the kitchen, watching It’s A Sin on All Four, and a scale and polish at the dentist yesterday.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 23/01/2021 22:15

Days getting lighter
Good food, having the time to prepare nice meals
Spending more time with teen DCs

mumwon · 23/01/2021 22:20

dd 2 gave me a pot of hyacinths & their on my kitchen windowsill (which means I can look at them whilst being nosey about what is going on in our little area - not a lot!)

HelloDaisy · 23/01/2021 22:27

Walking with my friend every day
Playing games and chatting with dc
Roses in my garden that have decided to flower now
Spending more time with dh as our pace of life is definitely slower

jelly79 · 23/01/2021 22:31

Exercising
Not drinking
Not dwelling
Enjoying the pace

Hugoslavia · 23/01/2021 22:43

Lavender soap
Keeping on top of the cleaning so that the house seems more restful/calm
Digging out some old CDs and listening to some of my old music.

Other things:
Bulbs emerging in the garden
Garden birds
Scented candles
My inflatable hot tub.

Walks with 18 month old who is just excited about the world

Cuddles on the sofa with my DP

Long lush baths

blueberryporridge · 23/01/2021 23:59

Working my way through my stash of old gardening magazines and finding ideas for growing things this year.

Sitting on couch with DS under a cosy throw and watching something he likes on TV with him.

Not having to walk to school in yukky weather.

Being able to go out for a short walk with the DC on weekday afternoons, especially when it is sunny or when there is fresh snow.

Itslookinglikeabeautifulday · 24/01/2021 00:10

Music
Food
A crackling fire
And today I rediscovered Caleb Marshall’s dance workouts and spent ages prancing around the lounge like an idiot. Loved it. (Still couldn’t get the hang of many of the moves but didn’t care by the end)

Littlecaf · 24/01/2021 09:36

Trump gone Biden in
Vaccinations rising
My Dad has an appointment for his vaccination
Work being helpful about home schooling/looking after kids
Maybe snow today?
Was DPs birthday yesterday and we took the kids to a local National Trust garden (about a ten minute drive away) and it was lovely to be somewhere other than our village which I’m bored of and is muddy!

BookWorm45 · 24/01/2021 10:53

Daffodils for £1 a bunch in vases round the house

Tidying up kitchen which now looks a lot more spacious

Reading new books (from the library)

catgirl1976 · 24/01/2021 11:01

The Duke of Hastings
The fact that I am working from home and have no commute
Lots of extra time with my son as he is not in school (ditto husband and cat)
Lack of running around like a blue arsed fly at weekends and instead being able to relax
It wasn't dark at just after 5pm today - Spring and lighter nights are coming

I’m eagerly awaiting the £1 daffs, I get several bunches and have them around the house. Haven’t come across any yet though 🙁
