These are mine - and yes, even now, if I can get myself into focussing on the now, I can feel happy in the moment of drinking these in....

  • The four beautiful snowdrops that are now out in the garden
  • Our dog having a great dream, full of wuffles and twitches
  • The vaccination numbers each day - I can't believe we have now vaccinated more than 1 in 10 of the UK population! Phenomenal
  • Good food... yup, sitting down and eating something I enjoy like scrambled eggs or a bowl of good soup makes me feel so much better... and even cherished

M&S shortbread biscuits
Buying new books
Meeting a friend for a walk and take away coffee.
Listening to music

MaelyssQ · 23/01/2021 15:27

My little dog and his unconditional devotion to me.

My lovely supportive 'work family' during this pandemic - we are holding each other up at times. (NHS covid ward)

Video chats with my adult children who live overseas.

Family quiz nights on Zoom every week - it's like going down the pub. Wine Wine Wine

Living on the coast and walking on the beach while it's snowing for the first time ever - quite magical.

Usermn78 · 23/01/2021 15:36

I got 3000 people vaccinated this week
I'm getting vaccinated this weekend
I made nice food for everyone

Ansjovis · 23/01/2021 15:43

Getting in my 10,000 steps a day. I've definitely noticed that I feel better on the days when I manage to do this versus the days when I do a quick walk around the block.

Hearing my co-worker's toddler on Teams calls. She's too young to understand the pandemic and is so excited that she gets to come on and say hi to us all and occasionally pop up with random comments. I think her dad feels differently but it makes me smile.

I can see that the sunset is getting noticeably later - longer days are on the way!

clary · 23/01/2021 15:50
  • After not getting a few things I really wanted for Christmas or birthday (which is fine!) I decided to buy them for myself - just pjs, new socks, some earrings, all lovely
  • My DD, who has been struggling, having a joke with her brother and me last night and a lovely with her best friend on the doorstep today
  • A two-hour Zoom chat with some friends I haven't seen for a while
  • Reading the marvellous third part of Hilary Mantel's Cromwell trilogy
clary · 23/01/2021 15:50

aaargh a lovely chat with her best friend...

caffeinebuzz · 23/01/2021 15:53

The mornings getting lighter
Doing some form of exercise daily
A nice glass of red wine in the evening once the kids are in bed

huggzy · 23/01/2021 15:54

Walking. I've been forcing myself to go out really early before OH has to leave for work, it's only about 20 minutes brisk walk with my headphones in (and I get nervous if I see anyone else because it's still dark!) but it makes me feel better. It's lovely when it's all frosty and foggy too. Wish I could do it every day but no chance on my working days.

Hueandcry · 23/01/2021 15:54

Sertraline, chocolate, my dog Smile

Misandrylovescompany · 23/01/2021 15:55

It’s not dark at 4pm anymore!!! Every day I savour that.

Going for a run and noticing any little changes around the neighbourhood.

How happy my mum is with the flowers I sent her! She was feeling so blue but it has perked her up no end and that perks me up.

chorusline79 · 23/01/2021 15:56

Yoga with Adriene
Daily walks
Reading and listening to podcasts

Misandrylovescompany · 23/01/2021 15:56

Oh and my dad got vaccinated. That’s very cheering.

InsideOfEmptiness · 23/01/2021 15:58

Just made the Lego bonsai tree to put on my desk at home. It's so cheerful and calming (and even I can't kill it Smile.

Looking forward to the lights to add to the effect.

Snapcat · 23/01/2021 16:10

Ah I love this thread. Thank you. Some good ideas here. Mine are:

Feeding the garden birds
Baking
DD learning new words

SingToTheSky · 23/01/2021 16:15

My new piano. I have delayed the decision to change my much loved but broken upright of 23 years, but now I have a digital and I have played pretty much every day since it arrived, I’m back to playing harder stuff too because I can wear headphones etc. It’s making me so happy!

Being able to do some art with DD1 for school (she’s just started art GCSE) - nice to spend some time just me and her and to be creative

Mario U Deluxe on the switch :o

The fact our housing association is taking a cupboard out in the kitchen next week which means we can get a dishwasher! Both DH and I have disabilities and this will make a massive difference to daily life.
