Just that really. I neither like nor dislike him I don't feel any emotion towards him.
AIBU to ask why so many people on here hate/dislike Boris Johnson?

I actually think this is a useful thread for narrowing down information for people who just dont know. More accessible than reading thousands of likely biased pages of Information on the internet.

On topic, I've not seen homophobia from him, could anyone link me or tell me?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/01/2021 15:28

@MarshaBradyo

This is going to run and run...
so 999 posts by Sunday at 6pm?
Vitaminsss · 08/01/2021 15:28

Because he’s shit

He makes Theresa May’s reign seem decent in comparison

skidadle · 08/01/2021 15:28

@Haffiana

No I don't watch the live press conferences or updates from him or read the papers.

Then who cares what you do or don't think?

Never asked anyone to care what I think!

ThePlantsitter · 08/01/2021 15:29

I hate him because he represents everything I hate about the British establishment and how it has functioned for hundreds of years: by using inherited power, wealth and influence to crush others into providing privilege and luxury for himself, and somehow managing to make those crushed underfoot people feel as if he is one of them.

Also he is incompetent, but to be fair he's probably only just realising that himself.

luxxlisbon · 08/01/2021 15:29

Incompetence for one...

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/01/2021 15:30

the embodiment of the word "entitled"

JemimaTiggywinkle · 08/01/2021 15:30

Because he is racist, misogynistic, incompetent and a liar.

MarshaBradyo · 08/01/2021 15:30

Every yep Grin maybe earlier

skidadle · 08/01/2021 15:31

How on earth did he get to be prime minister then??

OP posts:
MariaAngustias · 08/01/2021 15:32

Everyone does not hate him - bizarrely, there are still an awful lot of people who think he is great and would vote for him again.... but then people also voted for Trump so no accounting for folk

Chambored · 08/01/2021 15:33

What @SnowWouldHelp said
Generally prioritises personal vanity over national needs

Both Brexit and becoming PM have been about his ego.
Putting Brexit aside (even though I don’t think that’s in the best interests of the country). Certainly he is not fit to lead the country at a time of national crisis, as has been repeatedly demonstrated. The man cannot make a decision, which is a fundamental part of being a leader. He’s also a liar and far too often involves his cronies in important contracts. I simply don’t trust him to do what’s right for the country.

beguilingeyes · 08/01/2021 15:33

How long have you got?

He based his decision to back Brexit on whether it would make him Prime Minister rather than whether he believed in it...and look at the shitshow that caused.

He was a rotten Mayor of London..spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on vanity projects that never amounted to anything (water cannon, garden bridge etc).

He's a serial philanderer, leaving scores of mistresses/abortions in his wake and finally leaving his wife of 20 years, who was being treated for cancer for his latest squeeze because he'd knocked her up.

He was a disastrous Foreign secretary, almost certainly causing the sentence of Nazanin Zaghairi-Ratcliffe to be lengthened.

He's been climbing up Donald Trump's arse for the last four years (and look how well that turned out).

When we were first warned about Covid he didn't bother to turn up to the first few Cobra meetings because he was sorting out his divorce. Because he doesn't want to deliver bad news he's been late on every single response to Covid.

He conspired with a friend of his who wanted a journalist beaten up,

As Eddie Mair said...he's a nasty piece of work.

TheWhalrus · 08/01/2021 15:34

@skidadle

Ooohhh right, think I get the picture now! Didn't realise he was that bad, never paid any attention to him really. I over heard a conversation in my local shop. One man saying to the other"I think Boris is great". The other man shook his head!!
Can I politely ask where you've been for the past year OP (literally and metaphorically)? Apart from the local shops.

When I think about it, not knowing exactly how flawed an individual our current prime minister is would seem like something of a state of grace, although i'd need to be living on Mars to achieve that.

Icanseegreenshoots · 08/01/2021 15:34

I like Boris! I think he is doing well - very well in fact given everything that has happened in the last year.

It is only on MN where I hear such hatred for him, in RL everyone seems to understand the gov are doing their best under extremely difficult circumstances.

Sheleg · 08/01/2021 15:34

He's a disgusting sweaty chump.

beguilingeyes · 08/01/2021 15:35

@skidadle

How on earth did he get to be prime minister then??
Because people love him...bizarrely..because he was midly amusing on Have I Got News For You people think he's a bit of a wag...which is all you need in a leader...see also Trump. If he's been on the telly, people will vote for him.
AlexaShutUp · 08/01/2021 15:35

How on earth did he get to be prime minister then??

Because people did not care enough to research what they were voting for.

Norwayreally · 08/01/2021 15:37

He has multiple children he doesn’t even acknowledge from various extramarital affairs over the years. If you check his wiki it says ‘At least 6’ children which is just embarrassing.

He’s a massive racist. No, not just because of Brexit. Because he called Muslim women wearing niqabs ‘letterboxes’, black people ‘piccaninnies with watermelon smiles’ and admitted to feeling fearful of black men purely because they’re black. He also referred to gay men as ‘tank topped bumboys’ so homophobic too.

Oh and he hates women. Leaving aside the various extramarital affairs and long list of potential children, he described children of single Mother’s as ‘ill-raised, ignorant, aggressive and illegitimate’- let’s forget the numerous ‘illegitimate’ children and single Mother’s he has left behind him!

I also don’t agree with his politics in any way but I don’t agree with most Tory policies, it doesn’t mean I actively dislike all Tory voters or MP’s. He’s just a bumbling, oafish, moronic buffoon and he has lead the country into an utterly catastrophic state of affairs over the past 10 months. Almost 80k dead because he listens to the scientists and decides to ignore them for a few weeks. Fucking moron. Blobby would probably make a better PM in all honesty.

TheWhalrus · 08/01/2021 15:37

While i'm here @beguilingeyes, I think the Garden Bridge was £60 million pointlessly wasted, not hundreds of thousands.

SecretChocolateStash · 08/01/2021 15:37

He's very artificial, he puts on this bumbling comical idiot facade but it's clearly all for show.

His hair for a start, he intentionally makes it look as crazy as possible as a distraction tactic.

He's also a unbelievably shit prim minister.

Norwayreally · 08/01/2021 15:37

How on earth did he get to be prime minister then??

Because he used Cummings’ ‘Get Brexit Done’ slogan and it worked.

beguilingeyes · 08/01/2021 15:39

Writing in the Spectator in 2000, Johnson attacked what he called "Labour's appalling agenda, encouraging the teaching of homosexuality in schools, and all the rest of it." In his 2001 book "Friends, Voters, Countrymen," Johnson compared gay marriage to bestiality, writing that "If gay marriage was OK – and I was uncertain on the issue – then I saw no reason in principle why a union should not be consecrated between three men, as well as two men, or indeed three men and a dog."

There was even more explicit homophobia. As Business Insider previously revealed, in a 1998 Telegraph column about Peter Mandelson's resignation from the Labour government, Johnson said the announcement would lead to the blubbing of "tank-topped bumboys" in "the Ministry of Sound" nightclub, and "the soft-lit Soho drinking clubs frequented by Mandy and his pals."

EmbarrassingMama · 08/01/2021 15:39

Because the rest of us watch his live press conferences, read the news and listen to what he says. It's very easy to develop an opinion if you pay attention. You should try it...

Hmm
Pyewhacket · 08/01/2021 15:40

No, I don’t hate him.
