Just that really. I neither like nor dislike him I don't feel any emotion towards him.
AIBU to ask why so many people on here hate/dislike Boris Johnson?

@Haffiana

No I don't watch the live press conferences or updates from him or read the papers.

Then who cares what you do or don't think?

Erm...she was asking what other people thought, not giving her own opinion. She wasn't asking for anyone to care about what she thinks because she didn't state what she thought...

Also, you're rude.

StoneofDestiny · 08/01/2021 16:56

Incompetent
A liar
Amoral
Racist
Supportive of bullies
Allowed governance by the unelected Cummings
A dithering buffoon
A Coward - refusing to explain or defend his policies on TV
Arranged to have a colleague beaten up
Ego driven
Duplicitous - campaigned pro Brexit, after being anti Brexit
From a privileged position he has favoured only the privileged

But I'm shocked you can be so ignorant about who is in control of your children's future!

BaileysforBreakfast · 08/01/2021 16:56

how on earth did he get to be prime minister then?

Assuming this is a serious question:

We do not have proportional representation in this country, so can end up with a government (and therefore PM) with a massive majority, despite less than half the country voting for them.

As Gandhi said: “If there is a idiot in power; it is because those who elected him are well represented.”

People in this country repeatedly vote for Old Etonians and other public school-educated career politicians, and think people like Johnson and Rees-Mogg are harmless eccentrics (or buffoons). Somehow, the people think these privileged MPs will govern in the best interests of the entire population, rather than line the pockets of their cronies.

Critical thinking is not a big thing in this country apparently.

IntermittentParps · 08/01/2021 17:01

Without Coronavirus I think he would have been absolutely fine No, he'd have hit the Brexit skids – well, he has anyway, it's just we're noticing Covid more than Brexit for now.

Really could do with Mrs Thatcher to deal with this one she was decisive and had a scientific background Couldn't agree more, and I'm no Tory; as well as these reasons, she was not fazed at the idea of making unpopular decisions.

Placard4 · 08/01/2021 17:01

I thought he was brilliant in The Wizard of Oz but his intelligence was taken away after the credits rolled !

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/01/2021 17:05

ah ha, well done baileysforbreakfast - I was just about to add a comment on proportional representation after reading carcarbinks comment that her friends voted for him. She might have lots of friends in Uxbridge of course.

mind you, I still can't quite believe he won the direct vote mayoral elections TWICE.

ListeningQuietly · 08/01/2021 17:11

COVID : There was a pandemic preparedness plan
but the Tories defunded it in 2016

COVID : If Johnson had morals he'd have
NOT done "eat out to help out"
NOT allowed everybody to fly in and out without testing
NOT let Matt Hancock bung everything to his mates
NOT stood by Cummings

Brexit
If Johnson gave a shit about anybody but his rich funders he'd have opted to delay until after COVID
but he didn't

because he is arrogant and stupid

ktp100 · 08/01/2021 17:12

Because he's a useless, feckless, dithering, wittering, lying, cheating, spineless arsehole of a man and we as a country have been utterly let down and embarrassed Internationally by his sham of a leadership.

I couldn't despise him more if I tried .

UrAWizHarry · 08/01/2021 17:13

What this person said.

Boris is, as the song goes, a fucking cunt.

beguilingeyes · 08/01/2021 17:16

Also, as far as not caring where he puts his dick... anyone remember Jennifer Arcuri? Blonde American he was screwing? She got access to a lot a trade events etc she shouldn't have and tens of thousands of public money...and apparently he did nothing wrong!!!

Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson. His friends call him Al.

Yamayo · 08/01/2021 17:18

He also supported the lovely Priti Patel...

inquietant · 08/01/2021 17:20

I don't hate Johnson, I don't know him.

I think he's absolutely incompetent, a liar and a prat.

Iwantacookie · 08/01/2021 17:20

Because he thinks I am the scum of the earth and my dc are out getting asbos and mugging old ladies.
So why should I like him?

EngineeringFix · 08/01/2021 17:23

I don't hate him but I find him embarrassing in that he makes me cringe.

And yes pretty sure he'd despise me tbh.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/01/2021 17:26

Listening to the news, I've just been reminded of a redeeming feature that Boris has.
He isn't Trump.

setting the bar high.

Neolara · 08/01/2021 17:27

Because he's a self-serving twat who lies constantly? Because he has a total lack of integrity? Because he's led a government that has delivered one of the worst responses to covid in Europe?

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 08/01/2021 17:31

@Yamayo

He also supported the lovely Priti Patel...
Yup, The Pritster

supported her bullying behaviour to staff.

Seriously??
VickyEadieofThigh · 08/01/2021 17:36

He's shockingly incompetent and a dreadful liar. He wanted to be PM but has spent too much time avoiding doing the job.

Bluethrough · 08/01/2021 17:39

He would do to the UK what Trump has done to the USA, he is another populist leader who fails when he gets into power.
Should he lose in 2024, he'd do the same as Trump and not admit defeat.

80k deaths, currently the highest infection and daily death rates in all of europe by far.
He has caused this by his bungling incompetence, just as Trump & Bolsonaro have in their respective countries.

toconclude · 08/01/2021 17:41

@Icanseegreenshoots

I like Boris! I think he is doing well - very well in fact given everything that has happened in the last year.

It is only on MN where I hear such hatred for him, in RL everyone seems to understand the gov are doing their best under extremely difficult circumstances.

You and everyone you have apparently spoken to have not looked at the facts, then. Or have looked and turned your faces away. Everyone I know despises him. Not hates, despises.
Bluethrough · 08/01/2021 17:46

Johnson (as foreign secretary) did call for Trump to be given the Nobel peace prize.

Thats quite incredible, BJ wanted a lunatic to get the NPP, a man with so little judgement is now our PM.

Buttercup54321 · 08/01/2021 17:47

What a lot of hysteria this GOADY post has created.

Beesh · 08/01/2021 17:49

Is that you Boris?

user1471538283 · 08/01/2021 17:49

Because he is incompetent and cruel. He refuses to listen to anyone with any knowledge and refuses or cannot lead. I fully expected him to go off sick before the pandemic because it was clear then he couldnt do the job. Then he tried a Princess Diana thing which backfired. Then letting children go hungry. Then saving Christmas. Now look ...
