Just that really. I neither like nor dislike him I don't feel any emotion towards him.
AIBU to ask why so many people on here hate/dislike Boris Johnson?

Because like many of the white, privileged posh blokes I've worked for, for years ,it's all knee jerk reactive firefighting & he's crap at covering when he's floundering or he meets a situation his sheltered life hasn't bought him into contact with before. Meanwhile the support staff do the donkey work, cover up the failures & weakness & hold it all together ,so outwardly, he looks good. Until that is, shit hits the fan (as it always does, eventually). Then long suffering & sighing ,resigned upper managers & support staff swing into long practised damage control .

randomer · 12/01/2021 16:23

He is a sort of pound stretcher Trump really.

Jaypreen · 12/01/2021 17:42

white, privileged posh blokes Why the need to need to make reference to a persons skin colour? Are you some kind of bigot?

Why the need to pretend race doesn't have any effect on lived experience? How odd.

I think it's entirely appropriate when describing a man who used the phrase "watermelon smiles" and the epithet "piccaninnies" in political discourse.
CSIblonde · 12/01/2021 18:18

@Jaypreen because all the v v posh blokes I've worked for over 30 years, mainly in investment banking, were white. Before you play the race card my first 2 boyfriends were mixed race. In my current friendship group the races are: white British, Irish, Afro Carribean, Romanian, white South African & Asian. And my current partner is white with some Arab & French heritage in the mix somewhere 2generations back.

MiddlesexGirl · 12/01/2021 18:19

They don't.

Lets face it BJ is from another universe. Moved 10 times as a child, shoved into an abusive cult from an early age and full blown narcissist.

What abusive cult?
Peregrina · 13/01/2021 09:50

I think Eton was probably the abusive cult. You know that haven of multi-cultural education as some would have us believe. Whereas the % of black and brown boys there is very low.

randomer · 13/01/2021 11:00

By the time he was 5 , he had lived in New York, Oxford, North London, Washington DC , Conneticut and Exmoor.

Given what we know about early development it must have had some baring. His mother suffered from clinical depression.
Eton must have seemed like paradise to him.

How very parochial of you 🤣

Oh. What a pathological thought.
Peregrina · 13/01/2021 11:18

I'd lived in 5 different places before I was 6. Yes, it's unsettling, and my mother certainly was depressed by it all - she later told us that she'd nearly had a breakdown. It didn't turn me into a lying cheat.

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 12:29

I know a few kids who have moved around a lot (army) and they are fine!

FloraFocus · 13/01/2021 12:31

Tbfair Boris thinks he's fine!

randomer · 13/01/2021 13:05

I'm not saying moving around is the cause of problems.I think the amount of disruption at an early age, involving different countries and cultures coupled with an unstable mother and a preoccupied father, may have laid the foundations for his narcissism. The need to be liked by everyone, the grandiose sense of self.

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 13:20

Do you think he needs to be liked? I doubt it, he's PM! Odd job choice for someone who needs to be liked by everyone.

Peregrina · 13/01/2021 13:23

I think he does need to be liked, hence his chopping and changing when he realises that the public are against him.

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 13:26

Do you think that's why he does it? To be personally liked?
Peregrina · 13/01/2021 13:32

No, I think he chops and changes because he's a lazy so and so and not fit for office of PM.

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 13:33

That's probably more likely!
UrAWizHarry · 13/01/2021 13:34

Just watch PMQ's if you want to understand why so many people think he's a useless tool. Can't deal with it without his baying mob behind him and can't, despite being corrected on a weekly basis even get the name of the SNP right.

Utter twat.

He's fucking desperate to be liked. Why else would he project the persona he does?
Bluesheep8 · 13/01/2021 14:09

No I don't watch the live press conferences or updates from him or read the papers. Before anyone asks

May I politely suggest that you do, op?
