Feeling stupid for posting this on WhatsApp but can’t retract it

I rarely use any kind of chat as always wary of saying the wrong thing or upsetting anyone. I have really bad anxiety to put it into context. Anyway yesterday I was on a WhatsApp chat for parents at my sons school. I posted the attached to the chat as someone had posted to me. It made me smile so forwarded. Now I wished I hadn’t as I don’t usually do this and maybe other people will take offence. I feel like people may think I’m make light of a terrible situation and it’s a bit poor taste.

You're overthinking it. I think it's mildly amusing

Timeforabiscuit · 06/01/2021 13:08

I think that's your anxiety doing the talking, it's honestly not that bad - I've seen that one on Facebook and not given it, it the poster, a second thought.

How are you doing?

Thehop · 06/01/2021 13:10

I wouldn’t give it another thought.

AudreyAubergine · 06/01/2021 13:10

Inoffensive!

If nobody has responded, it's probably just that they have seen this or similar already, as a few did the rounds last lockdown. Don't worry at all.

SquatBetty · 06/01/2021 13:11

I don't find it offensive in the slightest, and remember there's loads of memes going around like this at the moment.

I know you've got anxiety but honestly don't worry about it.

IsolaPribby · 06/01/2021 13:11

I agree that you are overthinking. But if you weren't sure about posting it on your WhatsApp, why post it again here? Confused

Notreallyhappy · 06/01/2021 13:11

Bit of an overthink...if I'd received it you would of got a 😂...stop worrying!!

BiarritzCrackers · 06/01/2021 13:11

Someone put that on a Whatsapp group I'm on yesterday too - I didn't give it a second thought. Try not to worry! It's fine.

notanothertakeaway · 06/01/2021 13:12

If you select that post on WhatsApp and swipe right, then it'll delete the post

But I wouldn't worry about it. I've seen that post already and didn't think it was offensive

pitterpatterrain · 06/01/2021 13:12

Hah I saw that one - made me smile as well

We had the one about it being a fire alarm if you see the kids locked outside on the class WhatsApp

OwlinaTree · 06/01/2021 13:12

I wouldn't be offended by that.

Notagoodtime · 06/01/2021 13:13

Thank you - I you are making me better

MrsPerfect12 · 06/01/2021 13:13

I'd laugh. Don't delete it now. Just ignore it.

Because it anonymous 🤦🏼‍♀️
Wonkydonkey44 · 06/01/2021 13:13

Because she wanted honest opinions as to whether it's offensive or not?

And OP it's horrible to have anxiety but please know that it isn't offensive at all. My friend sent it to me the other day actually and it made me laugh.

CaraDuneRedux · 06/01/2021 13:14

I'd give a quiet smile at receiving that.

If it was a group of friends I might respond with "And the really scary thing is they'd do a better job of it than the current government." I wouldn't on a school what's app group though ("No sex, politics or religion in the mess...")

Happytentoes · 06/01/2021 13:15

I have been sent that one a couple of times and it raised a wee smile. It’s not offensive to me - I have shared a laugh about the self medication required to home school with friends in that position a few times.

And we have to try to make light of some things, it’s a coping mechanism.
Most will have smiled too.

pelosi · 06/01/2021 13:15

I changed my vote about 3 times Grin

I’m in the don’t worry about it camp Smile

Because if she hadn't then everyone would have asked what it was!

@Notagoodtime.

Please don't worry. It's not offensive, it's funny. At least it was the first time! (I've been sent it several times). And I'm not really at the 'joking about Covid' stage yet and doubt I will ever be. I've definitely found somethings I've seen quite offensive, BUT accept others have a different SoH.

Stop worrying 💐

Badwill · 06/01/2021 13:17

Definitely don't delete it - that would appear strange but the picture itself is completely fine! Honestly it's funny and true Grin

AryaStarkWolf · 06/01/2021 13:18

It's funny, stop over thinking

Wishimaywishimight · 06/01/2021 13:18

Saw this on Facebook and thought it quite funny. No doubt someone somewhere will take offence though!

RileyG73 · 06/01/2021 13:19

Ergh, class WhatsApp groups are the devil. Leave now for the sake of your health. Kids aren't even in school.
Its a fkin funny meme 🤣🤣🤣

Because she was asking people's opinions on it?
