Feeling stupid for posting this on WhatsApp but can’t retract it

I rarely use any kind of chat as always wary of saying the wrong thing or upsetting anyone. I have really bad anxiety to put it into context. Anyway yesterday I was on a WhatsApp chat for parents at my sons school. I posted the attached to the chat as someone had posted to me. It made me smile so forwarded. Now I wished I hadn’t as I don’t usually do this and maybe other people will take offence. I feel like people may think I’m make light of a terrible situation and it’s a bit poor taste.

Well for the first time today op you've made me smile!

TatianaBis · 06/01/2021 16:50

It's fine OP.

Is there anyone on MN who doesn't suffer from anxiety?

autumnboys · 06/01/2021 16:52

It’s funny. I’ve seen it and it made me smile.

ArosGartref · 06/01/2021 16:56

That's quite tame for my class chat.

lljkk · 06/01/2021 17:01

That is making me want Gin. Lots of interesting bottles on offer in Lidl today (which was flipping empty otherwise). Hmmm...

IEat · 06/01/2021 17:13

Did no one send a comment?
Honestly I have died so many times when I’ve posted stuff and it’s just deathly silence

Calmandmeasured1 · 06/01/2021 17:15

Not offensive at all. Mildly amusing (and probably true 😂).

PolloDePrimavera · 06/01/2021 17:35

Absolutely fine!

Summersun2020 · 06/01/2021 17:36

I’ve shared this on Facebook and in a WhatsApp group. It made me laugh Smile hope you’re feeling a bit better OP x

@BubblyBarbara

I'm not sure what's so funny about mocking people suffering from alcoholism but you do you
Quite a few of my AA friends have posted this on Facebook so they obviously find it amusing and are not offended by it.
BubblyBarbara · 06/01/2021 18:30

Some ethic people find racist jokes funny, it doesn't make it okay Angry

Fembot123 · 06/01/2021 19:38

Oh bubblybarbara 😂😂🤦🏼‍♀️

AudreyAubergine · 06/01/2021 19:51

I am the daughter of an alcoholic who died young due to alcohol abuse. This joke really isn't offensive. Some people are offended at every opportunity though. They are bloody weird.

garlictwist · 06/01/2021 20:03

I'm like you - I never post on social media, chat groups or forums (unless anonymous like this). I find it really stressful and on the odd times I do I worry what people think and if I've said the wrong thing.

UsernameFail · 06/01/2021 21:53

If you are the mum in our WhatsApp group who sent it round please do not worry!

It's amusing and everyone needs a bit of a laugh right now
