Feeling stupid for posting this on WhatsApp but can’t retract it

I rarely use any kind of chat as always wary of saying the wrong thing or upsetting anyone. I have really bad anxiety to put it into context. Anyway yesterday I was on a WhatsApp chat for parents at my sons school. I posted the attached to the chat as someone had posted to me. It made me smile so forwarded. Now I wished I hadn’t as I don’t usually do this and maybe other people will take offence. I feel like people may think I’m make light of a terrible situation and it’s a bit poor taste.

Others will have found it entertaining too. Don’t worry about it

AlwaysCheddar · 06/01/2021 14:02

It’s going round everywhere... dont worry.

oakleaffy · 06/01/2021 14:02

It's a joke..Don't worry about it.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 06/01/2021 14:02

Yep, seen it, it’s fine, don’t worry 😉

BestJamInTheVillage · 06/01/2021 14:03

It’s funny op seen it in a couple of the school WhatsApp groups don’t overthink it

Carolofthebellies · 06/01/2021 14:03

Haha, it's funny!

3cats1baby1manchild · 06/01/2021 14:12

Aw OP you sound just like my sister her anxiety does this to her too and il tell you what I say to her ‘everyone is too busy thinking about themselves/their own lives to give a small passing comment/moment (or in your case a meme you’ve sent) a second thought!’’ No one will even think about it after they’ve looked at your message! Do you remember everything single meme or comment you see when scrolling in fb or texting probably not. I hope you’re ok and have someone to talk to. Anxiety like this is awful and will make you worry about the tiniest of things no one else batters an eyelid to.

Charlie63849 · 06/01/2021 14:13

Don’t worry. Iv seen memes far more offensive in the last few days then this Grin

Cadent · 06/01/2021 14:13

@Iknowwhatudidlastsummer

If it's supposed to be funny, I don't get the joke.
No one in their right mind would seriously say that, would they?

Lighten up, I thought it was funny.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 06/01/2021 14:15

Not offensive. You are fine 😊

bluebluezoo · 06/01/2021 14:16

I’d roll my eyes at the narrative that needing alcohol to cope is just a bit of a giggle, but I do that at all the “mummy needs wine” type memes.

Then I’d move on and get back to things I do find funny, like cat videos Grin

yesifibbed · 06/01/2021 14:16

This was shared on my DS school whats app group and we all laughed. Dont over think it

yellowhighheels · 06/01/2021 14:17

Nothing to worry about, this has been doing the rounds and it made me smile the first time I saw it. Its not contentious or offensive. Probably nobody commented as they've already seen it. All fine, OP. I know what it's like to have anxiety making you fret.

Candyfloss99 · 06/01/2021 14:20

What did everyone respond? If it was lol I wouldn't worry.

littlepattilou · 06/01/2021 14:21

@Notagoodtime find it quite amusing, but YANBU to be offended by it.

littlepattilou · 06/01/2021 14:22

That is 'I find it quite amusing!'

joystir59 · 06/01/2021 14:22

I think it's light-hearted and funny

Hatstrategicallydipped · 06/01/2021 14:22

You're stupid for posting it on here and fretting over people getting offended when nobody has.

WorraLiberty · 06/01/2021 14:24

That's been doing the rounds on SM since last March, so chances are they'll have seen it before anyway.

LaceyBetty · 06/01/2021 14:25

I've received this 6 times already. Do not worry about it for one more second.

Kljnmw3459 · 06/01/2021 14:26

It's not offensive! It's a quick laugh and something that most parents can relate to.

Livinginthecity · 06/01/2021 14:27

Its not that bad except for people who might be actually living with alcoholics.

FrazzledChip · 06/01/2021 14:29

Honestly don't see an issue with it. I'm also one to send stuff and then think argh that'll either fly or go down like a lead balloon.

Emeraldeyes20 · 06/01/2021 14:30

That made me laugh! My husband is a Dr working well within the midst of this virus and I know he would laugh too! It’s not bad taste it’s a bit of humour and it’s something we all need at the moment !

Lalliella · 06/01/2021 14:31

I think it’s funny. In fact I’m going to steal it and post it myself. OP if we didn’t laugh we’d cry, and it’s perfectly normal to do a bit, or a lot, of each. Please don’t think anything more of it.
