To be peed off with Tesco

My Tesco delivery was today. I had until 11.45pm last night to edit my order. I successfully placed my order at 10.30pm and received the order confirmation email. This morning only half a dozen items were delivered, which are the items I put in the basket last week when I booked the slot. Nothing I added yesterday has arrived.

I called to complain and there’s a recorded message saying due to technical issues if you added items to an order yesterday it wasn’t saved and you won’t be charged for the missing items. No offer of a replacement delivery. I can’t book a replacement delivery because there are no slots for weeks. No click and collect slots either. It’s literally the first day of lockdown and the first day of shielding, and god knows how many people haven’t received their food.

It's annoying but I do think it's the risk you take when you play the system by holding the basket.

Play the system, it's an online food order not a benefit fraud!

🙄

I didn't say it was benefit fraud or anything wrong with it Confused but if you do things like that on an online system you always run the risk it won't correct itself!
Dagnabit · 05/01/2021 19:00

@Bookworming - that made me laugh out loud Grin

As for those saying you shouldn’t book slots if you’re capable of doing your own shopping, I’ve been a delivery pass holder for 4 years so you can sod off if you think I’m not going to utilise it!

How is it “playing the system” when the system is set up to work exactly that way?
Bookworming · 05/01/2021 19:09

@Wheresmykimchi correct itself? WTF? It was a system failure not cause by "playing the system"! FFS!

It isn’t actually aimed at anyone !
And like u have stated u had to isolate lol because of covid !
For anyone that has no reason to isolate or shield I meant lol or I guess if u have small kids and don’t drive ect
If your able to visit a supermarket because your ok too and u have transport then why are people using delivery slots ?[/quote]
Why did you ‘laugh out loud’ mid sentence? Is it a tic? I don’t want to discriminate.

NotSorry · 05/01/2021 19:11

People on here are spouting such a load of rubbish

Playing the system ffs

womaninatightspot · 05/01/2021 19:17

for those struggling for loo roll amazon had a good offer it was 45 rolls of regina delivered for 13 quid on prime. started buying loo roll/ kitchen roll on there last lock down as it seemed better to leave stock in our little local supermarket.

Good grief. You clearly haven’t used Tesco delivery then as that’s the whole point of the way it’s structured. Sheesh. It’s just like you’ve invented a new rule to remonstrate.

If you're going to be rude make sure you actually read what I said .

Wheresmykimchi · 05/01/2021 19:20

Bloody hell the vultures are out tonight.

Putting random things in to take them away later is not what the system is intended for.
If you do that , there is undoubtedly going to be times the system fails! I'm not saying it's wrong , and if indeedtesco does it on purpose then they need to find a better way of holding slots.

Bloody hell.

Wineinthegarden · 05/01/2021 19:23

I don’t understand the holding the basket thing with 6 bottles of champagne etc. Surely your shopping is pretty much the same every week so put what you need in the basket then add any extras as needed. Then it’s not a disaster if the changes aren’t made as you’ll get your standard weekly shop?

God don't say that - theyl be on you too Grin
Travis1 · 05/01/2021 19:40

It is what it is. Happened to me too but I got a text this afternoon so phoned and cancelled because if my amendments weren’t made it was a waste of their time and mine to deliver it.

My next slot is Sunday so we’ll muddle through until then ans use the wee express for essentials.

Online shoppings always a gamble. Technically I could go and do my shopping every week and did that during the first lock down but we’re back to paying for our delivery saver so I’m going to use it. Plus I find slurping round the supermarket soul destroying and reiterates how much I hate people getting in your space and not looking where they are going mask under nose or no mask at all. I’m safer at home getting the baskets brought to my door. No mess, no fuss.

nokidshere · 05/01/2021 19:43

My shopping was done last week with a delivery slot for tonight. I ordered 59 items and got 16. So nothing I added to the order after last Friday was included despite getting an email to confirm the additions and delivery.

Don't be rude unless you've actually read the post? What was wrong with it!

I made her laugh at my comment to you, then she went on to say that those saying (not you) do your own shopping are wrong?

So what's wrong with this @Wheresmykimchi ?

Where has the PP not read what you've said?

You've not read what she's said however... how rude!!

I'm picturing the Joker typing that post while laughing manically.

God you don't like me do you? Didn't realise am opinion on an automated system could cause so much nastiness.
safariboot · 05/01/2021 20:07

There's always a risk you won't be able to amend the order, which is why I only ever put in stuff that I intend to buy. But this is an unusual case in that everything appeared to work, no error messages. Which means there's been little chance to do anything else about it.

I8toys · 05/01/2021 20:09

Tesco have been brilliant through all the lockdowns. We've always shopped online because I can't be arsed with shopping.

I've kept a months worth of bookings going since March and its worked. I add things and meal plan all week but make sure that my order has the main things we need for the week a least 2 days before. Last minute changes are usually only a few odd things. Its just how I've always done it and as I say we've been lucky to get all our orders and most of our items.

I must admit I thought everyone would pile on the websites and they would struggle when BoJo made his announcement.

Bookworming · 05/01/2021 20:12

Sorry @Wheresmykimchi I thought you were accusing other posters of being rude by not reading Pp? That would be rude!

But the I thought it was you not reading the thread, which is true?

So it's not that I don't like you, I just agree you're rude for not reading the PP and agree as you've said that's rude?

I think you've lost the argument on this thread, you can call people rude and say the vultures are out and say they don't like you, but truth is you're wrong on this thread!

Okay pal. You really need to get out more Grin

I had an opinion, honestly in a pandemic you're deluded if you think whether or not people agree about a bloody computer system even registers with me.

I said you didn't like me because you have jumped on each of my posts with some level of personal attack which quite frankly is embarrassing.

Bye now

Bookworming · 05/01/2021 20:19

@Wheresmykimchi bye pal!
