Ocado have delivered me no gammon and a chicken that goes off on Christmas Eve so now I need to brave the shops and keep my fingers crossed.

How has everyone else faired?

I gave up on Ocado months ago. Waitrose have been fab. Got my order today, nothing missing and no subs. Got a Xmas card from the branch too 😀

VanCleefArpels · 22/12/2020 22:52

Ocado today - only missing items were a bag of lettuce and a mini pizza. I think we’ll manage 😉

SleepingStandingUp · 22/12/2020 22:54

Tesco didn't deliver two gift sets but my turkey came with my name on, pork pie til 27th, all my other stuff fine. 95 item limit was a bugger.

maverickallthetime · 22/12/2020 22:55

Waitrose today. 6 subs but all more expensive versions of what I had ordered so all good!
Turkey good too. Phew

GlummyMcGlummerson · 22/12/2020 22:56

This is why I go shopping myself after 2 years in a row of disappointments.

Although I can't find sellotape anywhere and looks like I'll have to glue the wrapping paper shut!

Covidrelapse · 22/12/2020 22:57

Waitrose, some of the dates are Christmas Eve but we’re not too bothered by dates

Pipandmum · 22/12/2020 22:59

Your chicken will be fine for Christmas day.
I ordered prepared parsnips as it said on website good for 5+ days, and they actually had a use by the next day after it arrived.

crossstitchingnana · 22/12/2020 22:59

Got mine today. All there except the beer was substituted, which was fine.

OkOkWhatsNext · 22/12/2020 23:00

Asda. 19 substitutions, no stuffing, bread sauce or Xmas pud. 🙄

helloxhristmas · 22/12/2020 23:04

Freeze the chicken?

Mine is coming tomorrow, not sure how that's going to work out!

HmmSureJan · 22/12/2020 23:05

I have been very lucky. Everything I ordered with Ocado arrived including all party food and Christmas dinner trimmings. I went to M&S for my Turkey breast roast the moment I heard we were going into Tier 4 on Saturday and also picked up everything else we'd need. I'm very glad I did because local supermarkets have been unusable since with queues round the car park.

Spied · 22/12/2020 23:07

No turkey- sent no sub
No crate of beer- we requested no sub
No coca cola- no pepsi either. Sub is vanilla cokeHmm
No hot chocolate- sub but we don't like it.

AndcalloffChristmas · 22/12/2020 23:07

I would also freeze the chicken and get it out just in time to defrost for Christmas Day, or whatever day you want it.

Bellie99 · 22/12/2020 23:08

Ocado. All present and correct although I had 2 boxes of cheese straws instead of the one ordered (sorry if anyone missing theirs)

2bazookas · 22/12/2020 23:09

Tesco xmas food delivery yesterday, everything perfect.

Chloemol · 22/12/2020 23:09

Had my order Monday, Ocado nothing Christmas wise missing and everything in date

Mummydoctor · 22/12/2020 23:10

Sainsbury’s delivery today was brill - a couple of sensible substitutions like a different loaf of bread/brand of sausages. Was very impressed.

polkadotpjs · 22/12/2020 23:10

Asda 7 subs. No stuffing and no Schloer weirdly were amongst them

twopintsprick · 22/12/2020 23:11

Ocado order this morning everything was there - minus the turkey which had gone awol (was meant to be there)
Ocado turkey team on the case and managed to find me another one (they had none left at the depot) and a lovely lady delivered it tonight Xmas Smile

ByersRd · 22/12/2020 23:12

Buying local so collecting meat, vegetables and pork pies from the butcher and cinnamon buns, soda bread, mince pies, scotch eggs and deli items from the artisan baker/deli.

Sadly DC's not able to be here though.

FrazzledChip · 22/12/2020 23:13

Asda - order today.

10 substitutions - most bearable. Mini pork pies instead of large one very disappointing. Larger pack of smoked salmon for same price - winner.
Pigs in blankets out of date Christmas Eve.

1stMrsFatherChristmas · 22/12/2020 23:14

I could only get a slot for last night, despite being an Ocado customer forever. Quite a few subs. Luckily my sister with whom I am sharing the shopping and cooking has been able to get later slots. We'll see what happens... main meats and veggies coming from farm shop and Abel & Cole so pretty sure of those.

Tinselerama21 · 22/12/2020 23:15

@GlummyMcGlummerson where are you? I have effing loads!! Bought one from Amazon- 1 box of 6!! It’s the proper stuff as well 😂👌🏻

LeSangeEstDansLarbre · 22/12/2020 23:15

Mine’s not till tomorrow but I already have all the important stuff - this was mainly extra veg, milk and some nice to have chilled things, like cream and smoked salmon, so we can live without if there’s a lot missing. This is Morrison’s, which is usually pretty good for lack of missing items and subs.

MIL had hers from Tesco today and everything was there, including boxed chocolates and a few other Christmas-specific items. They’re vegetarian so no turkey ordered, not sure how that would have worked out.
