Ocado have delivered me no gammon and a chicken that goes off on Christmas Eve so now I need to brave the shops and keep my fingers crossed.

How has everyone else faired?

Ocado. Full order delivered - including turkey and stuffing.

Bluebaubles · 22/12/2020 23:17

I’ll tell you tomorrow!

Tinselerama21 · 22/12/2020 23:17

Ocado coming tomorrow - bricking it!

Roominmyhouse · 22/12/2020 23:18

Had Sainsbury’s delivery tonight. Got everything I ordered and dates were good too!

silverstarfish · 22/12/2020 23:20

Sainsbury’s. No potatoes Hmm

caringcarer · 22/12/2020 23:20

I got order on 21st from Morrisons. Last date I could get before Xmas. Large beef use by 26th. Only missing items sandwich bags and some Southern fried chicken strips for Boxing day buffet. Got loads of other stuff do does not matter. Got fresh turkey at Aldi. None left to order at Morrisons. Got next order coming on January 4th.

Tinselerama21 · 22/12/2020 23:20

Although I made a decision a few weeks ago to get what I could from the farm shop and Abel and Cole (a lot of the latter was already sold out). Picking meats up tomorrow from farm shop drive through shop - best thing ever, wish I’d have just got it all from there now 🤷‍♀️

AlwaysLatte · 22/12/2020 23:20

Tesco have been great, and today's order came with only one thing missing. But since they started putting a 95 item limit on I'm having to do another shop as well so am thinking of changing.

butteredbarmbrack · 22/12/2020 23:20

Ocado here, delivery yesterday evening and we struck lucky with nothing missing and no substitutions. Though I realised a couple of things I'd forgotten to add to the order (none essential or difficult to get elsewhere, luckily!)

Donotgogentle · 22/12/2020 23:20

Ocado today - everything there.

Solina · 22/12/2020 23:21

Ocado. Had 4 subs all like for like and bottle of wine and one loaf of sourdough bread missing which I wont be going to the shops for.

jackstini · 22/12/2020 23:22

Best substitution ever

Ordered spiced red cabbage
Got a piece of Brie and a piece of Saint Agur instead

SquirtleSquad · 22/12/2020 23:23

Great thread! Mines coming tomorrow's Wine

Lemmeout · 22/12/2020 23:23

Mine have worked out in the home gym Grin

Lougle · 22/12/2020 23:23

Tesco, 1 sub, non-essential.

jackstini · 22/12/2020 23:24

That was Tesco - Asda, had main Christmas joint, rack of lamb - no replacement whatsoever.. Angry

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 22/12/2020 23:24

Sainsbury’s yesterday. Some wine was substituted for different wine, and a few things with short dates - but one was for the freezer anyway, and the others for dinner on Christmas Eve, so fine.

Will need to go to the Co-op or Tesco Express for bread/milk/salad, otherwise done. Could also do with some festive flowers.

Brighterthansunflowers · 22/12/2020 23:24

Asda coming tomorrow, I’m nervous

I’ve done their preorder range for the meat so hopefully that should be ok. I do have a spare joint in the freezer just in case, along with frozen veg and roasties. And have been getting bits of other stuff for weeks like the Christmas pic and Yule log. So shouldn’t be a disaster but will be disappointing if stuff is missing. I’m mainly concerned for the Yorkshire puddings (didn’t have room in the freezer to buy ahead) and the stuff I’ve ordered for dinner after work on Christmas Eve

sassbott · 22/12/2020 23:27

Festive flowers? I called my local florist and did a click and collect. Trying to keep local businesses afloat. Gorgeous bouquet

Tinselerama21 · 22/12/2020 23:27

@Brighterthansunflowers that’s a good idea, it pinged into my head whilst out running today...why didn’t you try and get none perishable stuff in weeks ago.....will have to remember for next year!

ApplesinmyPocket · 22/12/2020 23:27

Tesco - perfect, everything there except kitchen paper substituted with better kitchen paper. Food to order looks nice.

ZippedyDooDa · 22/12/2020 23:28

Not good here - all bread, potato, fresh veg and fresh fruit items and loo roll (and sprouts - they even removed my order for a bag of frozen sprouts!) keep getting deleted from my online basket. Order due to arrive tomorrow morning - if I'm lucky, I might receive the gin, but I'm not expecting much else. Merry Christmas!

Bunbunbunny · 22/12/2020 23:31

Asda has made a bizarre substitute for my wine, choose small cans as I would have had glass with dinner and it's just me & DH but they decided I needed jelly Grin

KihoBebiluPute · 22/12/2020 23:34

Waitrose collection today not too bad. They were out of stock of the veggie pigs in blankets but I had ordered quorn bacon and quorn cocktail sausages as a backup so we will live. No parsnip rosti stars either. Worst tragedy was the lack of a particular beer that DH had been looking forward to.

@KenAdams your chicken which is Best Before 24th December will be absolutely fine on 25th, honestly. There is always a margin of error. It's not like the bacteria are politely waiting behind a cordon until 23:59 on 24th and then swarm in in overwhelming numbers 2 minutes later.

planningaheadtoday · 22/12/2020 23:36

My order came today, Asda, no side of salmon but everything else was present. Sub for the prawns, cheaper brand but two bags for same price as one.
