If they did this after school ended in London did they do it after London had gone to tier 3?

Not if they went before midnight.

UndertheCedartree · 20/12/2020 00:25

It depends when school ended. We went into Tier 3 on Thursday. My DD's school broke up that day so we were in Tier 3 by the time her school finished for Christmas.

@FairyontopofthetreeBatman

Aren't you getting mixed up with Tier 4?
DimidDavilby · 20/12/2020 00:26

It's different for them because anything they do can count as work obviously Hmm

Windinmyhair · 20/12/2020 00:27

Kids are at private school, so would have happened over a week ago.

Before tier three.

negomi90 · 20/12/2020 00:28

Private schools often have different dates. My sisters broke up on Wed, so if they left then they would have been fine.

cyclingmad · 20/12/2020 00:28

Its a moot point they will do whatever they like and zero consequences.

Yellowsubmaryne · 20/12/2020 00:29

George and Charlotte’s school term ended on 11 December.

London went into T3 on 16 December.

MrsTerryPratchett · 20/12/2020 00:30

Since mere mortals don't have the means to fuck off to the country, they get to do things the rest of us don't all the time.

Now isn't any different. Make sure to bow and scrape at your betters.

flipapoo · 20/12/2020 00:30

Course they did.

Chloemol · 20/12/2020 00:32

They have been there a week, before London went into T3

Temporary1234 · 20/12/2020 00:32

Yellowsubmaryne

Kate is that you Xmas Wink

SD1978 · 20/12/2020 00:39

Is imagine a large number of families within the private school system have done exactly the same thing if they have a second house. I can't get very incensed that they've done it.

Didkdt · 20/12/2020 00:52

I think they knew this was coming hence being fudgey about their Christmas bubble plans
I’m sure they are ready for a lovely Christmas.

Fizzydrinks123 · 20/12/2020 00:52

I see no problem.

Notthe9oclocknewsathon · 20/12/2020 00:53

Private schools broke up before tier 3. If I could have I would have done the same. No judgement here.

Clymene · 20/12/2020 00:55

The timing of London moving into tier 3 was designed to impact those people whose children are not privately educated ie not our dear leader, his mates or the royals

ktp100 · 20/12/2020 00:59

Are their kids in private? Usually they break up earlier, don't they?

justgeton · 20/12/2020 01:00

I do t actually give much of a toss where they are ( just being pedantic I guess) but should they be going home now? Seeing as we're supposed to be following the rules of our main home.

OP posts:
blueberryporridge · 20/12/2020 01:00

No doubt the rest of them will also be hightailing it to whichever home they fancy going to, with fawning entourage in attendance as well.

Didkdt · 20/12/2020 01:00

How many cabinet members children are in state schools seriously go look it up before you make comments like that
RubyViolet · 20/12/2020 01:08

Private schools finished a week ago. There are lot’s of people in Barbados, and the Maldives. That’s where the moneyed have gone. They went a week ago.

RubyViolet · 20/12/2020 01:09

Last Christmas Boris was on Mustique with Carrie, bet they are missing their freebie this year. Bless their little cotton socks.

Well if they're already home, it's a moot point, surely?
PizzzaExpressWoking · 20/12/2020 01:18

At least they won't be traipsing around the country, attending mass events without masks, or using keyworkers to stage ridiculous photo ops for the foreseeable future.
