If they did this after school ended in London did they do it after London had gone to tier 3?

OP posts:
clopper · 20/12/2020 08:30

Good for them.

lazylump72 · 20/12/2020 08:32

Err sorry and all tat for chipping in my two pennath but I have to say HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have done far more than could or should have been reasonably expected during thiis pandemic. They have been brilliant in keeping up the countries moral as many Royal watchers could testify. They have done so much work on Zoom and Teams from issues like mental health, family problems.isolation and lonliness ,by visiting charities to boost moral to helping in foodbanks non of which was expected or demanded they just quietly got on with it and I know many people were grateful . The train ride was in effect work which they willingly carried out. Give these kids a break they are only human and have done alot more for this country than people who are very brave sat behind a laptop who wouldnt know how to find a foodbank let alone help out........this nastiness of people snipping and being mean on here lately with anything to do with any aspect of the world we are living in at present is just deplorable and so unhelpful.......Pulling together? Yeah right.....

JackAndJillsBucket · 20/12/2020 08:42

So much work?

Confused

Sorry, work?

Are you really saying this on a site filled with hospital cleaners, A&E doctors, 999 call handlers, retail staff on the front lines..?

Work?

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 20/12/2020 08:42

We are in the same position, we left London a few days ago and are now in the same part of the world as Kate and William. Not sure whether to leave or stay now that we are here. Can't find any guidance about what to do if you've already left tier 4 - can anyone link to any?

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 20/12/2020 08:47

I would think Norfolk a much better place to be 'holed up' with the children for up to a month than being in KP (where there isn't much private outdoor space).

? And?

SavoyCabbage · 20/12/2020 08:56

Are their kids in private?
This made me laugh so much.

naturalyoghurtmuncher · 20/12/2020 08:58

Does anybody really carry?? No

RelightMyPfizer · 20/12/2020 08:58

I think the point is that last time William went with covid as did his father- that is why it was all kept hush hush

Seymour5 · 20/12/2020 09:05

@Nomorepies

I couldn't give this any headspace. Things are shit for everyone. Let as many people as possible have a nice Christmas. They don't seem to have broken any rules and doubt anyone is going to be returning to a tier 4 area if they had a choice!
Agreed. I wouldn't have their goldfish bowl lives for anything.
FairyontopofthetreeBatman · 20/12/2020 09:05

@alibongo5 that the only time it would matter. In other tiers it’s only advised not to travel between, not actually restricted.

notafanoftheman · 20/12/2020 09:14

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA other than actually putting their hands in their pockets or putting in an actual meaningful day’s work doing something useful.

TheGreatWave · 20/12/2020 09:17

@nosswith

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be the same as many if not most families in not seeing grandmothers at Christmas.

The Duke could help us all by asking his grandmother to dismiss the Prime Minister.

If we were still in Tudor times or suchlike we could probably ask her to cut his head off or lock him up in the tower forever.

Forgot the /s
Yorkshirehillbilly · 20/12/2020 09:19

Lets face it by Boxing Day we will all be in Tier 4 anyway. This was always about us spending as much money on xmas food and presents as possible to keep the economy afloat and delay having to pay out more money supporting closed businesses, not about us spending xmas with loved ones. And its got Brexit off the front pages this weekend too.

Xenia · 20/12/2020 09:20

Private schools where our family goes finish a week earlier than state schools remember. Eg my child and their family are already abroad skiing for Christmas, lawfully of course. [ Meanwhile in rather big contrast I am stuck here clearing a house with my son where tenants left an absolute mountain of junk in the garden - end in sight now, but how can people live like that!]

hellsbells99 · 20/12/2020 09:37

Very petty thread

SoupDragon · 20/12/2020 09:39

No they didn't.

Although that doesn't seem to be what you want to hear given you've ignored others saying it.

Orcadianrythyms · 20/12/2020 09:45

I feel so sad about all the apologists on here for this bunch. They are a disgrace and if it was just about them then I'd just roll my eyes and move on BUT they have staff and entourages whose jobs and livelihoods depend on facilitating these idiots. If their only role is to provide a sense of national pride and we're all in this together ness then they need sacked. In fact after the Queen passes they should all be binned. She at least seems to understand civic duty and decency. Don't even get me started on the professional adultress popping up on Strictly last night ..... As if yesterday wasn't bad enough Angry

They do work hard, how many of us would want their jobs. There's no point in comparing different types of jobs.

Give these kids a break? William is nearly 40 GrinGrinGrin

I really don't give a toss about the Royals but positioning them as poor children, toiling away, is a bit much

forwardsbackwardsrebound · 20/12/2020 09:52

I'm tired of this lot too. This pandemic has taught us a lot about society, and high up on the list is just how little the Royal Family actually do. Kate and Wills are the worst of the lot, though don't get me started on the Old Boot and her racist husband. The country has gone from crisis to crisis, yet the radio silence from this shambles is deafening. A jaunt on a train when they were asked not to, is not my idea of raising morale.

Bring on the republic.

Yes as long as the weather is reasonable, plenty of fresh air.
TeddyIsaHe · 20/12/2020 09:57

If this was H&M they would be annihilated for doing the same thing. Yet there’s people tripping over themselves here to explain it away and make excuses. I wonder why Hmm
