I'm a bit concerned about the wheel. I'm not sure if I trust it. Also fire seems a bit dangerous. Grin

I'm not a scientist but AMA? (as long as its not science)

Both are very dangerous and need to be used carefully.
TheoriginalLEM · 05/12/2020 08:46

Well, the wheel lead to the car and that has lead to millions of fatalities. Just saying.

SaskiaRembrandt · 05/12/2020 09:01

I'm not a scientist but I have all sorts of opinions about science so AMA - especially about my opinions!

SlightDrizzle · 05/12/2020 09:03

See, I said that way back about domesticating cows, but no one listened...

CleanAndPaidFor · 05/12/2020 09:04

I'm not a scientist and I don't watch the news. It's bad for you. And I don't read or engage with anything a bit challenging. However I have some very robust views I'm prepared to share with you on Facebook.

AwkwardSquad · 05/12/2020 09:06

I’m not a scientist, but I do spend a lot of time on Twitter so I’m very well informed and I have many, many opinions that I’d like to share with you. Quite forcefully.

AwkwardSquad · 05/12/2020 09:07

First of all, my opinion on electricity. It’s magic, obviously.

AwkwardSquad · 05/12/2020 09:09

Secondly, my expert opinion on experts. Well, we’ve all had enough of them, haven’t we? Why is their opinion more important than mine just because of their extensive education, years in their specialist field and robust peer-review processes? My feelings are just as important.

DreadingSeason2020sFinale · 05/12/2020 09:10

Listen, I've done my research. I've never studied the wheel in a practical or academic setting but I've done my research. They're dangerous. Check out www.wheelssareevil.com for an unbiased article on wheels.

Cattenberg · 05/12/2020 09:13

I’m not a scientist, but I’ve watched a lot of videos on Facebook and there’s clearly a conspiracy going on. Most people just don’t realise, because they’ve been brainwashed.

GabriellaMontez · 05/12/2020 09:14

Fire is lethal. Not sure that was the cleverest idea for your witty OP.

Giggorata · 05/12/2020 09:15

Not all scientists agree about fire, anyway.
There's a group of them who are saying that its side products are smoke and soot, which are bad for you, and that raw food is healthier.

Fire is dangerous, OP. I burnt my finger once.

SlothWithACloth · 05/12/2020 09:15

Well they’re using the wheel to control us. Have you tried travelling without a wheel?
And what’s with all those alarms that they have forced us to install in our homes to ‘detect smoke’ in case fire. Yeah, right. They’re probably monitoring us from there.

TeenPlusTwenties · 05/12/2020 09:17

One thing i do know is that everyone is entitled to an opinion, and that my opinion is just as valid as yours (if not more so), even if you are an expert in your field and other experts agree with you, and I couldn't answer a GCSE question on the topic.

Plus I am far better at doing my research on something by reading opinions of people like me, rather than any nonsense scientific peer reviewed stuff.

I live in a cave.

hamstersarse · 05/12/2020 09:18

I am a scientist and I expect every minion to be completely unquestioning of every aspect of my works of genius

PurrBox · 05/12/2020 09:19

Without fire and the wheel we wouldn't have climate destruction.

If everyone had a brain like mine we would still be sleeping in caves-- Hell! we probably would never have figured out how to crawl out of the primordial slime.

iklboo · 05/12/2020 09:24

I'm not a scientist but surely this 'telling phone' device is a means to lure us to the Dark Arts? Hearing voices over many miles? Sorcery!

titbumwillypoo · 05/12/2020 09:26

AwkwardSquad, I'm pretty sure electricity isn't magic, it's Witchcraft!

Exactly! My 'alarm' has a microchip in it. You know what microchips are for? So Bill Gates can monitor us - I bet he's watching me type this!

Said no scientist, ever.
dudsville · 05/12/2020 09:28

(I love this thread)

chomalungma · 05/12/2020 09:29

I used to be a scientist - so if you're telling me this fire thing is safe, I would like to see some large studies of its use, with a random population, carefully controlled, and that each fire should come with its own warnings of issues.

I bet that never happened though Grin

Nackajory · 05/12/2020 09:30

For a moment I thought you were referring to that new game show on the magic screen in the corner of my living room.

PowerslidePanda · 05/12/2020 09:33

Yes, it's so over-rated. I could have studied science too - I shouldn't be dismissed just because I chose not to.
