It makes me so angry that people are protesting about lockdown... yes its frustrating but it's being done for a reason... to try and prevent as many deaths as there would be without a lockdown... they are selfishly spreading covid and yhe police have to put themselves out there and risk their lifes to stop the gatherings! 😠 What do they think will happen!? That government will say ok- ok you win... go wild, have fun and mingle lets just forget covid now!?.....Does this make anybody else absolutely fuming at the human race!!!?

You can’t argue with stupid. Ignore them or you will get yourself in a stew over it. They’re twats. Just do what you need to do to keep yourself and family safe.

IrenetheQuaint · 28/11/2020 23:16

I may not agree with them but I support the right to protest, and as they are outside the risk of transmitting Covid is very low.

No, it makes my heart sing! It's about time people are starting to realise the destruction this nonsense is causing. Destruction to humanity and the human race for a virus with an IFR of just over 1% so good for them I say. Hope to see more and more of this! (Actually these have been going on for months and months but the media, for some reason, hasn't reported on it). Hmm
Tolleshunt · 28/11/2020 23:17

they are selfishly spreading covid.

Only if they have it, and the risk of that is actually quite low, given the infectio rate per 100,000 in even the most infected areas.

I wouldn’t do it myself, and am playing the game and following all the rules, but I think there is legitimate reason to question the lockdown and am loathe to take away the right to protest for any reason.

Lazypuppy · 28/11/2020 23:20

Nope, i'm pleased people are starting to stand up against these restrictions

ComDummings · 28/11/2020 23:22

If you restrict people’s freedom and destroy their jobs and therefore their lives you must expect anger and resistance. So while I don’t agree with any violence I can’t say I’m disgusted at the protesting in general, no.

MrsGradyOldLady · 28/11/2020 23:23

I wouldn't want to live in a country where people didn't have the right to protest. Although looking at some of the footage on Twitter it does feel like we're heading that way judging by the heavy handed attitude of the police. There are demonstrations all over Europe. Can't say I blame them really.

Smellbellina · 28/11/2020 23:23

I don’t agree with them but I stand by their legal right to protest

Smellbellina · 28/11/2020 23:24

I would also protest for their right to protest

Nope .... totally disagree. Fucking delighted that they are protesting against this ongoing nightmare. The govt have had 9 months to increase capacity of the NHS to cope with the increase. Instead of doing this, they’ve chosen to spend stupid amounts of money paying businesses not to open and people not to work and put the population under house arrest. I’ll be joining them and lobbing my MP to vote against this latest round of insanity

millymollymoomoo · 28/11/2020 23:28

Nope I’m pleased. More should
No one gave a crap when it was BLM

AlecTrevelyan006 · 28/11/2020 23:30

The right to protest is very important for democracy.

Sushirolls · 28/11/2020 23:30

YABU .. I would have been with them, if I didn't have to work. People need to wake up and stand up for their rights.

Yes, why have we not increased capacity in the NHS in that time?

AldiAisleofCrap · 28/11/2020 23:32

The lockdown is killing as many people by suicide as the number of people it is trying to save.
What utter rubbish!

maddening · 28/11/2020 23:32

Have 58000 people committed suicide directly due to covid restrictions Delphine? That is a shocking figure if so!

IHeartNiles · 28/11/2020 23:32

This.
Duemarch2021 · 28/11/2020 23:32

But surely them protesting in groups of thousands is just going to prolong it all? Im not saying people shouldn't protest about other things but this is a virus... the government can't necessarily say ok.. fine you win you can go out again we'll open all your businesses...

The government could say fuck it do what you want... but what would happen then? My point is what are they gaining or going to gain

OP posts:
LEELULUMPKIN · 28/11/2020 23:33

No I am not disgusted and nor should you be OP.

We still live in a free country and it is their right as it is the right of any other movement such as BLM, climate change, etc, etc, etc.

NiceGerbil · 28/11/2020 23:33

No not at all.

I read the other day that the government have banned the right to peaceful protest which is terrifying.

It’d be interesting to tot up the increased suicides from the start of lockdown until the economic and social ramifications are over (some years in the future), and also the extra deaths from cancer, heart attack, stroke, stillbirth (doubled since lockdown) and all the other needless deaths caused by the NHS basically shutting up shop for anything other than Covid.

Taken all together I can imagine they might well overtake Covid deaths.

Pamelaaaaa · 28/11/2020 23:34

No I want to shake their hands. This country needs to get running again. It would take too long to even explain here the detrimental effect this year has had on our planet in so many different ways.

tortoiseshell1985 · 28/11/2020 23:34

They are fighting for our freedom and civil liberties and I am so grateful to them
