Aibu to think this year is slowly improving

  1. Trump is going.
  2. Vaccine on horizon.
  3. Cummings going.
How the unelected bureaucrat was given all that power in first place is another story. Hopefully Bojo will now listen to his electorate for once.

@DGRossetti. Biden recently said "BBC? I'm Irish". More than sufficient one would hope. Especially when superforecasters are involved.

user1471565182 · 15/11/2020 14:49

Yeah I wondered what that comment was meant to mean to be honest. Sounds a bit shit stirring.

user1471565182 · 15/11/2020 14:49

Bet hes glued to WIld Mountain Thyme.

I smell a rat here too.

VinylDetective · 15/11/2020 15:21

Apparently they’re not going to boycott the BBC any more either, so we can expect a bit more accountability. Back to shouting at the radio again sigh.

Only if you bother with the BBC. I certainly won't.
VinylDetective · 15/11/2020 15:26

Better the Today programme than the oxymoronically named Good Morning.

Well I won't and wouldn't see either anyway. I've found you can read a lot more than you can take in with the vague witterings of mouthpieces on mass media, to be honest.

If it's pre-recorded, you can turn the speed up to about 1.5x to save time (used to do that when I wrote minutes Grin) but generally it's all a bit Macbeth, isn't it ...

....a poor player, That struts and frets his hour upon the stage, And then is heard no more. It is a tale Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.

I smell a fucking stinking rat @derxa Why now? Why after all this time?

As for Piers well im sorry but it needs saying....
Piers Morgan has really pissed me off
www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/tv/gmb-piers-morgan-christmas-coronavirus-18968452

Saying people may need to miss Christmas with their families this year for the good of the country. but he was out at restaurants during the summer and went on holiday. So he got his. and during the first lockdown apparently ate a lot of takeaways, (who does he think cooks them and brings them to him)

Hes been calling for the politcians to come on GMB and they have been refusing for many months which they shouldnt be allowed to do BUT was he calling for this for months when many vulnerable/ ill/ disabled people were dying after having their disability benefits cut. NO!!

Squirrels are masters of disguise.

ListeningQuietly · 15/11/2020 16:45

45 days till the end of the year
45 days till the end of transition
and no trade deal in sight

so the Government are getting us all in a froth about who we can sit with at Christmas
forgetting that the shops will be running low on fresh food by Boxing Day
and that prices will go up a LOT on 31 January

the squirrel is sitting on a C88 customs form folks

frumpety · 15/11/2020 17:33

I wonder how much of Brexit they will try and blame on Covid ?

DGRossetti · 15/11/2020 17:39

They might try. However, given that in April it was suggested that maybe Covid may have changed the issues around Brexit, and we were told to go fuck yourselves, good luck with trying to delete your posting history before taking that tack.

Although given the sheer brass neck of the lot of them, it's not impossible.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 17:54

They spent years blaming Gordon Brown for selling gold reserves and the bank's collapsing in 08 and labour in general so blaming Covid for Brexit problems will come very easily to this government and the hard core voters will say ' well, we did have the pandemic to deal with and labour would have done worse ..' etc.
Easy scapegoat.

longwayoff · 15/11/2020 17:59

Saw Gordon Brown on Andrew Marr this morning. Wished I could drag him back to Downing St and give him the PM job.

itsgettingweird · 15/11/2020 18:01

The PM and ministers GMB boycott was and is a clusterfuck and tomorrow's interview will be.

PM will want answers about decisions made in April. Right now is irrelevant.
He will also shout and scream because he thinks that's good and holding government to account.

His interview with Helen Whately was nothing but bullying "are you laughing/ stop smirking etc" playground bullying.

Thing is he is an astute journalist. He's fantastic at interviews for life stories and the murders etc. He often has a very valid point.

But he loses it in range and not allowing the other side to answer. I feel he's been to Americanised in his style. (Having watched American news and interviews with American people).

He also actually is quite confusing at times. One minute he's saying everyone must stay at home, follow the rules, it's your duty to make sacrifices. Then he's saying it's not fair someone only has 15 minutes in a hospital.

I really hope tomorrow he uses his good skills to get some real answers as opposed to just screaming his personal opinion at the health minister about the faults he feels he's made. That isn't getting information for his viewers that he always says they should provide.

Agree. He's so calm and clear and believable.

Not really. Not since he sold Scotland down the river (and he's at it again).
nosswith · 15/11/2020 18:04

longwayoff There are five former Prime Ministers who could do a better job than Mr Johnson- all the living ones. Probably about 2/3rds of the current House of Commons as well.

David Schneider is correct that things will not be better until Mr Johnson leaves number 10, preferably to a prison cell.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 18:09

Why does Boris have to go to prison?

VinylDetective · 15/11/2020 19:03

@the80sweregreat

Why does Boris have to go to prison?
There are the 20,000 care home residents who died for a kickoff. That should be a corporate manslaughter charge with Hancock and Simon Stevens to keep him company.
DGRossetti · 15/11/2020 19:05

@the80sweregreat

Russian money ?

All of it.
