Cummings

Aibu to think this year is slowly improving

  1. Trump is going.
  2. Vaccine on horizon.
  3. Cummings going.
How the unelected bureaucrat was given all that power in first place is another story. Hopefully Bojo will now listen to his electorate for once.

Johnson will piss off out of it by January.

IntermittentParps · 13/11/2020 13:07

Of course that leaves a vacuum, into which I think Dishy Rishi is planning/hoping to step.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 13:15

Rishi looked a bit down beat yesterday I thought. (He was talking about the economy on the news. )
He is a good orator and much more competent than many in the cabinet, but I still struggle to trust him.

Tellmetruth4 · 13/11/2020 13:15

The rats are jumping ship which was to be expected. Cain resigned yesterday, now it’s Cummings then it will be Johnson. They’ve already given multi billion pound contracts of tax payers money to their chums, they’ve already ensured we get a financially ruinous no deal Brexit so job done. They need to be far away when the shit hits the fan or in Kents case when the literal piss and shit hits the hedgerows after it turns into a massive car park with no toilets.

No doubt they’ll all end up on the boards of organisations they’ve given tax payers money to.

These people Iove breaking things not fixing things. I wonder what their 17milion accomplices think of all of this?

Tellmetruth4 · 13/11/2020 13:17

Does anyone remember voting for Cain, Cummings or Carrie? I certainly don’t but yet they seem to be running the country.

Tellmetruth4 · 13/11/2020 13:21

Taking back control my arse. More like taking it from sensible people and giving it the PMs latest squeeze and a couple of Mekons.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 13:23

What was / is Carrie Simmons job ?
Why has she so much influence?

Hayeahnobut · 13/11/2020 13:25

Sunak scares me. He's all about the economy and would happily screw us all if it means his millionaire mates doing well. I actually think he could be worse than Johnson, because whereas Johnson screws us through ineptitude, Sunak would do it wilfully.

JustDanceAddict · 13/11/2020 13:26

I still say good riddance too whatever the reason.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 13:29

Sunak is scary I agree.
Mind you, they all are.

countrygirl99 · 13/11/2020 13:37

The trouble is not that Johnson doesn't listen to the electorate but that he listens to whichever section is shouting loudest this week. Hence all the inconsistencies and sudden changes.

RaspAsYouChokeOnTheToupee · 13/11/2020 13:40

Whilst Cummings isn’t a walk in the park - his leaving means we’ll get more Gove, Hancock or Raab. All excellent choices, obviously Hmm

If Brois leaves shortly after because he’s also abandoning the sinking ship (or because it will be even clearer he has no idea what he’s doing and hasn’t been making the decisions) then we have yet another Tory leadership battle between Raab, Gove and Hancock. Which is just what the country needs at the moment. If the male MPs are self aware enough to realise that being the PM when when Brexit hits the fan is a legacy they don’t want, we might get another female PM. I hear Priti Patel is a particularly caring and compassionate member of the Torys.

Couldn't agree more. His done more U turns lately than a celebrity on strictly. I wonder if they will have a big leaving collection for Dom? Voucher for specsavers could be handy.

PizzaForOne · 13/11/2020 13:45

Yes the news has been quite positive lately.

Might listen to some M People shortly.

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 13/11/2020 13:47

The worrying thing is that Cummings was at least in charge of things. Yes it's a hideous mess at the moment but somebody (albeit unelected) was doing some thinking. Who's going to do the thinking for Johnson now? The thought of him trying to run the country is terrifying.

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 13:52

His not going yet : maybe once he does clear off at Christmas time , Boris won't be too far behind! He can't function that well without him.
I wonder who will employ Dom ? Surely he'll need a job? Will someone be queueing up to employ him? What do people like him end up doing?

user1471565182 · 13/11/2020 13:57

He'll go to some dodgy russian connected organisation that actually does nothing but makes millions through stealing taxpayers money.

Tellmetruth4 · 13/11/2020 13:58

We never did find out what he spent that four years in Russia doing did we?

meow1989 · 13/11/2020 13:59

Yabu for not titling the thread "cummings is going(s)"

the80sweregreat · 13/11/2020 14:02

Back to Russia then maybe?

SonjaMorgan · 13/11/2020 14:02

I love the way language is used about the whole situation. "Why does Dominic/Carrie have so much say?" It takes the blame completely off Boris and tory party. I would rather some vein of, "Why is our PM such a pathetic, inept waste of space?" Place blame where blame is due.

Averyyounggrandmaofsix · 13/11/2020 14:06

I expect theres a comfortable seat on the Board of his father in law's company.

Skysblue · 13/11/2020 14:18

Delighted Cummings is going, but it’s pathetic of him to quit just before all the post-Brexit hard work starts on 1 Jan. What a quitter.
