Aibu to think this year is slowly improving

  1. Trump is going.
  2. Vaccine on horizon.
  3. Cummings going.
How the unelected bureaucrat was given all that power in first place is another story. Hopefully Bojo will now listen to his electorate for once.

I'm not at all sorry to see the back of Dominic Cummings, but I can't help wondering where he will pop up next, and in what guise. Will Boris jump ship too? Maybe, but when? I wouldn't be sad to see the back of his sorry arse either, but who replaces him?

What comes next? None of it fills me with confidence. The only thing we know for sure is that it will all be shit.

Perhaps that’s what he want us to think. I can’t help thinking this is a bit of a publicity stunt.

Is it just me who thinks the photos of him leaving No 10 are particularly well shot?

Oh, and Carrie is not married to Boris, though did have his latest baby. Last I heard he wasn't yet even divorced from his previous wife, although that was maybe a few months ago so might have changed in the meantime.

Boris did divorce Marina this year I read somewhere.
Hence the reason 150 k a year isn't ' enough to live on' : they probably had expensive London lawyers to sort out all that.
Anyway. That box of Dom's is pitiful.

Cummings is gone and Boris, already struggling, will struggle more. All he had to offer the electorate was 'get Brexit done' and the voting lemmings followed him over the cliff.

He can't get Brexit done. He is failing miserably, and soon he will be leaving himself 'to spend more time with his family'.

Johnson has added nothing positive at all to the country.

I agree that Cummings leaving is a reason for worry rather than celebration. He's a rat and they have good survival instincts.

Boris and Carrie were supposed to get married this summer (announced around the same time as her pregnancy). I’m surprised the press haven’t poked around this a bit more tbh, well not overly surprised but even so. Maybe that’s coming.

I’m very annoyed it looks like those who pushed for brexit aren’t going to be around to face the music when the inevitable shit hits the fan. I obviously voted remain but take no pleasure whatsoever in watching this abattoir slaughtering the remains of our country. I’m still hoping to be proved wrong because of the awfulness in store if I’m right.

If Carrie Symonds had any opinion voiced about Dominic Cummings or Lee Cain, I think it is as someone who has worked in the Conservative Party, not really about her personal life.

Though if Boris Johnson took any notice, it is a rare event for him to value the opinion of a woman.

Brexit isn't 'done' at all. The pandemic got in their way and Dominic Cummings breaking the rules didn't help.
Then there is the long list of disasters this year that has resulted in the worst death toll in Europe. Carrie Simmons is surrounding herself with remainers ( daily mail reports) and two ' consultants ' have now left.
It's all very strange and a bit unsettling. A new leader is in the wings waiting patiently I've no doubt. The conservatives thrive on dirty tricks and back stabbing.

I wonder if Cain and Cummings leaving has something to do with the no. 10 inquest into who leaked the news of lockdown 2.0? It was widely reported that no. 10 weren’t ready for it to be announced and everyone knows that Cummings is Laura K’s source....(based on the way she immediately jumped to his defence back in May)

They need to make a deal, they really do.

The optimist in me hopes that Cummings has left because he knows we need to concede on the deal to get it over the line and he wants to look like he wasn't prepared to accept concessions.

I am praying we are not about to go no deal.

Do a deal' the Conservatives voters don't like at all , they will all vote for Farage's reform party next election and the whole thing will go on and on forever. A three way split will happen again with the voters. They have had remainers and leavers as their PM and they still won't be happy about any deals and turn their back on them.

Infighting over Europe has torn the Tories apart for decades now it's just taken everyone else with them unfortunately.
There's probably more to all this than just the EU as well. Cummings probably did leak the news about the lockdown 2 last month or had a hand in it somewhere.
I wonder why Carrie doesn't like him?
What a circus it all is.

It's only what I've read in the daily mail about Carrie and Javid. It's all probably made up but there are a lot of leaks out of number ten lately!
Javid is a remainer though.
