Vaccine-feeling worried

2020yearfromhell · 11/11/2020 20:36

I’m feeling really worried about this gradual
push to possibly have to have the vaccine, they say they won’t force us, but will likely make you unable to travel, go to festivals etc etc without it, so basically it is almost as if we’re being forced.
Why the sudden rush through of it and such a need for it from day one.
Anyone else feeling nervous? I really don’t want it as no idea what it is.

Where are you getting your information from?

Because people are dying from it?

This is a joke right? Why the sudden need for it???? Have you looked around or watched the news at all this year?

Put it this way, if we didn't have the vaccine you wouldn't be going on holidays or to festivals anyways... At least this way you have a choice to have the vaccine or not!

PiperPiper20 · 11/11/2020 20:42

Well it's not day 1, it's day 300 or so until the virus started.

And the need/rush is because it's a highly contagious deadly virus that has killed hundreds of thousands of people worldwide in a year.

Don't have it if you don't want it, but don't expect to piggy back on the immunity of the people that have had the vaccine to enable you to safely travel or attend large events.

LouiseTrees · 11/11/2020 20:45

Are you a lazy journalist?

Autumnblooms · 11/11/2020 20:45

You do know you already have to have certain vaccinations already to visit some countries, that’s been around for years and years, you can choose not to travel or go festivals, but you can’t have it both ways!

The deadly virus that you have to get tested for to see if you have it.

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 11/11/2020 20:48

If it helps us get life back to normal, allows me to travel and hug people, then I’ll happily let them inject it in my eyeballs. Tomorrow.

authenticallyclara · 11/11/2020 20:49

😂😂 right ... doesn't add up half the time imo
midgebabe · 11/11/2020 20:49

I am more worried about too many people not getting he vaccine which means we won't get normal life back again

userxx · 11/11/2020 20:51

🤣

TrainspottingWelsh · 11/11/2020 20:52

Yeah, it's just a cover up for inserting a microchip into every member of the population. That's why the elderly will be first, they're the closest to revealing the government's top secret plan.
We only need to switch off the 5g to get rid of covid.

AcornAutumn · 11/11/2020 20:55

@userxx

Ticketmaster have already said you’d need a vaccine or negative test to attend their events.

I think some countries already ask for a negative test but I’m not much of a traveller so don’t keep up to date with this kind of thing.

BlusteryLake · 11/11/2020 20:55

I have to say, I am pleased that I would be at the back of the queue for the vaccine, in that I am under 50 and healthy. It's been such a short time in development I am secretly pleased that lots of other people will have tested it before my turn comes.

AcornAutumn · 11/11/2020 20:56

I’m also worried about a repeat of the 1976 vaccine. I don’t know why it’s considered a conspiracy to be concerned.

Ok Confused
Splodgetastic · 11/11/2020 20:57

It will be a bit annoying if all these oldies get to attend festivals before the youngsters! They are saying you might not even be able to buy it and might have to wait your turn.

2020yearfromhell · 11/11/2020 21:01

Yes it was the Ticketmaster report I saw earlier on today and I’m guessing lots of other things will follow suit. So effectively, if we want to live a normal life, it will force us to have it.
No one else scared?! It’s been made in such a short time, in a really weird period of time, I really don’t want it, my anxiety’s heightened even thinking about it.

@AcornAutumn What happened with that one?

Exactly, I’m surprised others aren’t cautious at all

Its hardly a sudden rush through. Its been in development pretty much since the beginning. Any vaccine released will have been thoroughly tested. If it means we can have our normal lives back we should be all for it. Its hardly anything to get upset or worry about. They aren't gonna inject the public with rabies, microchips or disinfectant.

If you don't want it, don't have it but then you'll have to accept certain parts of your life will be limited I suppose. I can't wait to get it. My life has been pretty much destroyed by covid.

I can't fathom how people believe such conspiracy theory claptrap. Anything for a bit of drama.

You don't have to have it, no one will force you but yes, your life choices will be limited as a result. That's life following a pandemic. Everyone has to make choices. It's not been made quickly or at a wired time - I don't really understand what you mean there.
countbackfromten · 11/11/2020 21:07

I’m a doctor and I cannot wait till the vaccine is available. We are many many steps until that point, until any vaccine is in mass production and ready for distribution. I’m hopeful that it isn’t too far into the future but right now I can happily say that when it is available I will be having it.

gah2teenagers · 11/11/2020 21:08

Lloyd’s travel insurance small print now says you are only covered if you have had a gov recommended covid vaccination if one is available.

AcornAutumn · 11/11/2020 21:08

OP I feel for you

I was desperately upset about this in March because I could see what was coming

I’ve had time to get used to it, I guess. The trouble for me is it won’t stop at live events and travel, I don’t do either. But hopefully by the time I’m made to have it, we’ll know more about the safety.

This is the 1976 one

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1976_swine_flu_outbreak

My father was a doctor and I think he’d say this is mad rush for profit. As a family, we had our vaccines but it doesn’t take a conspiracy theorist to be concerned about the speed here.

My mother might have to decide soon, she’s 82.

I won’t get into the civil, liberties aspect because I can see no one cares on MN.
