To be upset my DP tells me I'm attractive and not beautiful

DP and I have been together for 4 years. After our very first date, he text me to say he had a great time and told me that I'm very attractive. He is lovely, compliments me regularly and jokes that he is punching above his weight because I am more attractive than him. However, he has never told me I am beautiful. :( AIBU to be upset about this? Beautiful seems more personal and affectionate, "attractive" I think is quite vague. Yes, I am aware this is quite a shallow post. I just want my boyfriend to tell me he thinks I am beautiful instead of "attractive".

I’d be interested to know your definitions of attractive and beautiful.
Find out his definitions of these two adjectives. Then you will know if you really have a problem or this is simple miscommunication

From your title I thought he had actually said you weren’t beautiful, but that’s not the case at all. He’s told you you’re attractive- so attractive he thinks he’s punching above his weight. So of course he thinks you’re beautiful and is telling you - he’s just using a different word to say it.

There are women out there probably as a type getting called an ugly cunt while having the shit kicked out of them. Some people have it so good they really don’t know when they’ve got it good.

Now this is a whole other issue...we're not talking about domestic abuse vs wanting to be called beautiful.

Nobody should stay with a man who is abusive.

I agree with a pp that whilst I see many people I would think ate good looking or attractive....beautiful is not so common.

I wouldn't even call most supermodels beautiful....but many are attractive.. they wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

I'm happy with being called gorgeous and sexy by my dp 😁 If he called me beautiful I'd think it odd as I'm not!
