Not this one again!

People like you OP, who like to diss what they know to be popular, only do it because they think it makes them seem better than the average woman. You think you have better taste than most don't you OP?

This is the only reason things go out of fashion- it's snobbery.

They were very popular a few years ago but they seem to have gone out of fashion since then. My husband bought me one and now buys me a charm every Xmas - i am not especially bothered but I don't have the heart to tell him. The charms are expensive too

For the Xmas issue the reason there are queues outside is because they can't have people wandering round the stores at Xmas looking as then people get the jump if someone else is served before them. So to keep it in the queue order it's done like that. Oh and security as funnily enough people love to steal it. If there was one other person in there and loads of sales staff available then that's just silly they didn't let you in
Exactly. There was only one other customer and they were making us "queue" just so from the outside they looked busier and more popular. I was embarrassed for the staff having to make such a silly pretence.

so? I don't like rats or hot tubs - but I understand the concept of humans being different and liking different things - not sure why that's passed you buy OP

@MrsMayo
They probably added them as a named item in their home insurance, a bracelet with a dozen charms could easily have cost them £8/900.

I dont mind them when there's only 4 or so charms on them and they're droopy. That looks better. But I don't like the chock a block ones with a million charms. They are far too busy.

And weirdly I hate the coloured beads. I dont see the point of those. Do all silver!

But some of the other Pandora jewellery is quite nice. The necklaces and the rings that aren't from the bead range. Some of those are quite delicate and pretty.

I have one and I like it. I am 50. As a heads up, I also have a Barbour jacket, hunter wellies and the mumsnet scarf.

I don’t get ankle boots, bootleg jeans or a school run coat or those shoulder open tops.

We are all different.

So don't buy one then? Did you really need advice on this? Hmm

You're not cool for not liking them. Pandora is a jewellery brand that has made millions despite people harping on about hating it. I don't think they give a shit if you dont like it. Grin

Buy whatever jewellery you like. Leave others to buy what they like. I doubt I'd like your jewellery and I doubt you'd like mine. So what?

@Tomatoesneedtoripen

i am watching something on 4od and there was an advert.
i have worked with people who want a charm for a leaving present, and a relative who also likes the charms
i was not expecting vitriol here,

Then why start a thread saying you don’t like them?

I don’t like them either, so I don’t buy them.

You are free to like or dislike anything, but really don’t know why it’s worth starting a thread over it.

If you don’t like them, don’t have one, it’s not difficult.

I don’t have one and have no strong feelings about them, so I’m not offended by you disliking them.

I love mine and I have more than one Blush I also have other pieces of pandora jewellery. I can change my charms as and when I like and couldn't give two hoots what other people think. We all have different tastes and it would be boring if we all liked the same thing Smile

i could have started a thread saying i dont like prosecco,
i probably have.

I remember a lot of people having them in school but I haven't seen anyone wearing them for a long time. Then again I haven't lived in the UK for a long time so maybe that's why.

I personally am not a fan but I think that's the point if jewellery - it's very personal to taste. That's why it is potentially a very touching gift, because the person has understood your tastes.

Seriously? I wouldn't dare wear it! I've got jewellery worth around that, & it almost never comes out of the box except on special occasions. I'd be afraid of damaging or losing it.

i dont like chunky bracelets and find the cost of them unnecessary. and a charm for special occasions.. it is not something for me
i would rather have a necklace

This is such an odd comment ^ so what if you find the cost unneccessary, nobody is making you buy one!
I think Hunter wellies are overpriced and not very good but I wouldn’t start a snotty thread to scoff at other people’s choices.
Some of the pp on here need to catch theirselves on, do you really look down at ppl for a bracelet? over priced tat, teenagery, chavvy very sad.

Some very strong opinions lol. I personally love Pandora bracelets and their earrings. I don't wear much jewellery and my Pandora bracelet is pretty much all I wear along with my wedding ring.
I love the sentimental aspect of Pandora bracelets. I'm quite surprised that other people see them as cheap or tacky but I will still always wear mine!Smile

I like the idea of a Pandora bracelet, but I don't actually like them.

Having a charm to celebrate something significant is nice, but they're bulky, and if stuff keeps happening in your life, more charms accumulate... and you have no control over how it will look.

It's nice having a thoughtless but thoughtful stock birthday/Christmas present option. But you don't want everyone in your life buying you the same ruddy charm, and you don't want that many charms anyway, because the damn thing will just get really bulky.

And that's before considering the cost.

I guess I'm not really a bracelet person anyway thought, so probably not the target audience.

I think they look horrible especially if you have them almost full with charms. But I like the leather ones as long as they have no more than 3 charms (It defects the object some people would say but then, if you put more the leather stretches to become too big for your wrist.

Yes, jewellery is either a really shit present, or the most amazing present ever. When someone knows you well enough to pick out something you would like and actually want to wear (especially if your tastes are less mainstream and harder to guess), that's just really lovely.

No I suppose not, it's just a wee discussion to hear other opinions, like most things on Mumsnet
