To ask how often you shower?

I only shower 3-4 times a week, to be honest. Is that gross? I especially will skip a shower if my hair looks good.

I do, however, change undies every morning.

I don't need deodorant but I use it anyway. Pointless as I smell the same with or without

@misschoices are you Prince Andrew?

misschoices · 15/08/2020 00:06

@TwinsetAndPearlss

Did Prince Andrew really say that?!

OP posts:
Emmelina · 15/08/2020 00:07

Every other day in winter, most days in summer. Somewhere across the two the other seasons!

CardsforKittens · 15/08/2020 00:08

I shower every other day because I have bad eczema and if I shower more often my skin falls off.

OP if your partner smells like cheese after a shower he might have a fungal infection somewhere. Alternatively... are you of East Asian heritage with a European partner? (I’ve been told by East Asian friends that Europeans sometimes smell like cheese.)

jelly79 · 15/08/2020 00:10

Every day AT LEAST! sometimes twice a day

misschoices · 15/08/2020 00:11

@CardsforKittens

No, I'm white British. Partner is same. But he smells foul.

@misschoices yep, I’ve lived in the France and some people’s hygiene there is questionable at best. But I’m sure even you understand that you can’t judge a whole country by the habits of some, right?
And if life expectancy was directly related to how many showers you have then surely we would all know about that by now, no? I think that’s a bit of leap there, maybe you should have a quick shower and that will help you think a bit more clearly?

Lollypop4 · 15/08/2020 00:14

Every night and most Mornings too

misschoices · 15/08/2020 00:14

@springiscoming12

Hygiene is important and correlates with health (washing your hands before you eat or cook as to not spread germs or disease).

Why else do you shower everyday?

OP posts:
7dayslater · 15/08/2020 00:15

Everyday.

I will occasionally skip a day, like if I am unwell or have an extremely busy day.

misschoices · 15/08/2020 00:18

@springiscoming12

So, washing everyday is not about better health? Like hygiene? Why are you making such a fuss about people who have different showering habits than you? What is the bottom line message?

OP posts:
springiscoming12 · 15/08/2020 00:19

@misschoices you must be really unhygienic then if you don’t shower everyday? Think of all those germs you’re spreading, not smelling should be the least of your concerns.

PickAChew · 15/08/2020 00:22

How are you spreading germs, sat in your house, 25 hours since the last shower?

june2007 · 15/08/2020 00:23

Not very often as I have a bath nit a shower. But anyway not every day.

Bbq1 · 15/08/2020 00:27

Twice daily. Morning and evening. In winter once daily, every morning. Everybody is different though. Lots of people shower every other day or every third day and are Still clean and quite fresh. Whatever suits.

Illdealwithitinaminute · 15/08/2020 00:31

I shower and wash hair every other day, bits and pits wash on other day unless I'm going out in which case I'd shower.

I'm a minimal sweater compared with my husband- he sweats within hours of showering and would have one or two showers a day as a result.

I wonder if the people who shower 3 times a day are also the three times a day hooverers, no idea how they fit in working or anything else!!!

k1233 · 15/08/2020 05:49

@misschoices do you think the drying out of your skin if you shower daily is due to the excessive time you spend in the shower?

Again, long showers (20-30 mins) are bad for the environment. If you showered for 2 mins daily you could easily keep clean. It doesn't take long to soap up and rinse off. And before you say you can't get wet in 2 mins, that is the guideline for drought, when cities are running out of water very quickly.

Penguin007 · 15/08/2020 07:42

You know the smell as you walk into a cinema? Stuffy and stale. It's the smell of unwashed bodies. I smell people in shops, on public transport etc. who have that whiff about them all the time. I have a friend who showers in the evening rather than the morning, and she smells to me like a slightly weaker version of that.

All those people saying they don't smell - that's what you smell like to me. Not full-on sweaty, but stuffy, stale, sour.

You need to frequent better cinemas.
Penguin007 · 15/08/2020 07:57

Ha ha. All cinemas smell like that to me, irrespective of brand and location. It's the unwashed bodies...Bleurgh

onedaysoonish · 15/08/2020 08:00

Every day! Twice a day if I've exercised or if it's really hot (like the last week and a bit for example). Never heard of anyone not having a shower every day before!

LioneIRichTea · 15/08/2020 08:02

In the recent heat 2 to 3 times a day. Otherwise once daily - I honestly don’t think you NEED to shower every day (unless you’ve got dirty or sweaty) but I love getting into bed freshly showered and moisturised. (Also I have to shave my legs and underarms every day as I’m obviously part werewolf and they grow quick!! Confused )

Waxonwaxoff0 · 15/08/2020 08:02

Twice a day because I do a LOT of walking (don't own a car) and I tend to sweat.

HOkieCOkie · 15/08/2020 08:03

Every other day in winter when I sweat less etc. In the summer can be 1-2 times a day.

00100001 · 15/08/2020 08:06

I live these threads.

Because people KNOW when you haven't showered every day. they KNOW that because you STINK. And that can only be because you didn't shower in 32 hours. Nope. That's the only reason.

How they know how often everyone they meet showers is beyond me... Confused
