To ask how often you shower?

I only shower 3-4 times a week, to be honest. Is that gross? I especially will skip a shower if my hair looks good.

I do, however, change undies every morning.

At least once a day, often twice or even 3 times depending on what I've been up to (ie morning shower every day, exercise then shower... or morning shower, work, after work shower if going out, going out then shower before bed..)

Lockheart · 14/08/2020 23:39

@springiscoming12

Nothing in the OP about disabilities, caters or skin conditions etc... what a cheap argument, honestly. I’m not even sure why I’m bothering to reply to you who, like many on this site, always seem to want to mention these circumstances to support your argument when you know that’s not who the discussion is about
It's not a cheap argument. You need to think before coming out with such rubbish. Not everyone has to shower every day to be "normal and clean" and two seconds thought would have told you this.
ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 14/08/2020 23:40

Pretty much daily, maybe skip a day if my illness is playing up, and it feels like too much effort, or I’m too sore. But I generally feel better (mentally and physically) when I do, even though I’m not a sweaty person.

Monday55 · 14/08/2020 23:40

@misschoices get him something to scrub with. It's probably all the dead skin from decades ago that's stinking.

I got my DH some exfoliating gloves to scrub his body with, as he too was a bare hands and soap guy.

Washing with bare hands is not effective. Try washing dirty dishes with just soap and bare hands, it won't be 100% clean at all and probably still stinks of whatever food was served in them. That's why we use dish scrubbers.

PickAChew · 14/08/2020 23:42

At this time of year, most days, sometimes twice. Itch more than smell.

IfOnlyOurEyesSawSouls · 14/08/2020 23:42

Twice a day.

Angelina82 · 14/08/2020 23:42

Less often than this question is asked on mumsnet and I’m squeaky clean.

LovingLola · 14/08/2020 23:43

Every morning
2 minutes unless I am washing my hair in which case it’s about 5 minutes
Am very conscious that water is a finite resource so I try not to waste it

springiscoming12 · 14/08/2020 23:44

@Lockheart but it is normal to want to be clean FFS, otherwise we would all walk around filthy and not care. I’m sick of people like you twisting arguments to cheapen them and derailing threads because you haven’t got anything better to do - go and get a hobby.

thedaywewillremeber · 14/08/2020 23:45

Everyday and bath weekly which is when I shave.

SodomyNonSapiens · 14/08/2020 23:45

every 3 or 4 days, except when it's hot then it may be 2 or 3 times a day

Redland12 · 14/08/2020 23:46

Twice a day but with this weather 3 times a day.

Lockheart · 14/08/2020 23:46

Who said anything about not wanting to be clean? It's fairly usual to want to be clean, but person A may need to shower twice a day to be clean and person B may only need a shower every two days to achieve that. Can you not understand that people's bodies are different? Is the concept of different types of skin, activity levels, climates so confusing?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 14/08/2020 23:46

That's why we use dish scrubbers.

Shock Doesn't that hurt?!

springiscoming12 · 14/08/2020 23:50

You do you @Lockheart
I’ll carry on showering regularly and will maintain a decent level of hygiene because, you know, I’m a normal person. Simples! Wink

YewHedge · 14/08/2020 23:51

Every third day with a wash of pits and parts every day at the sink
Saves water and the environment.
Better for my hair and skin

remainin · 14/08/2020 23:53

Every second day in cold weather, every day (or more) in hot weather.

onlinelinda · 14/08/2020 23:55

Most days, daily in hot weather, although I don't use soap or gel other than in intimate areas and under arms and under breasts. I try to shower quickly so as not to damage my skin, which is pretty good but which was dry a couple of winters ago, so I'm careful.

Monday55 · 14/08/2020 23:55

@ScrimpshawTheSecond lol I think you misread. I was giving an example of why we need to scrub our skin when we shower/bath to remove the dead skin. I used dirty dishes as an example that they need scrubbing otherwise they won't be 100% clean.

Lockheart · 14/08/2020 23:56

@springiscoming12

You do you *@Lockheart* I’ll carry on showering regularly and will maintain a decent level of hygiene because, you know, I’m a normal person. Simples! Wink
So in other words: "Yes, I actually do struggle with the concept of climate and people being different".

I'd spend less time in the shower and more time with a book if I were you.

MitziK · 14/08/2020 23:57

Until it finally got a tiny bit cooler yesterday - five fucking times a day. Once when I got up, once at lunchtime after dissolving slowly from such strenuous activities as doing the washing up or loading the washing machine, once at about 5pm, once at 10pm and once at about 3am because I couldn't fucking sleep in a room that was still 35 Celsius, splodging out like a beached starfish in front of the fan afterwards.

I don't do heat and, unlike DP, I didn't have the opportunity to spend from 7am - 7pm in a fully airconditioned office.

I've treated it as preparation for perimenopause. and decided I'm having HRT if that's what it's like.

Now I'm back to twice a day (it's still too fucking hot for me at work).

PerveenMistry · 14/08/2020 23:57

Can't imagine showering less than once a day.

remainin · 15/08/2020 00:00

OP, I think we've understood that you "don't smell"! Or that you never sweat (except on your face). And that your partner smells of "moldy cheese" even though he washes every day.Grin

misschoices · 15/08/2020 00:02

@springiscoming12

Do you find the French unhygienic? By your standard, they're 'dirty'.

Why do they live longer than us? Why are they slimmer? Why is their skin fabulous?

If you showering everyday should be the norm, then why is our life expectancy much lower than the the non showering French?

Twice a day for me, my teens all shower once a day.
