To ask how often you shower?

I only shower 3-4 times a week, to be honest. Is that gross? I especially will skip a shower if my hair looks good.

I do, however, change undies every morning.

Once a day minimum, usually morning and night.

I love a good shower! Sometimes will have a bath on a night but that’s relaxation not for washing as such.

If I’m really short on time I’ll have a super quick one, 2 mins in and out, 2 mins dried and undies on.

I couldn’t be an every other day washer - although I appreciate if I had a skin condition I would do what was appropriate

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:07

I had a Roomie at uni, and she showered every morning and I could smell body odour on her.

I only showered 3-4 times a week, and our friends would ask me why she smells?

I am now thinking some people just do not have that odour.

Every day, would feel horrible otherwise. I think it's a basic necessity for the vast majority of people.

If your DH stinks when he's just out of the shower, he's probably not washing himself properly.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:09

@Cloudwatching57

I'm happy to know I'm not some odd person! I also shower after my yoga session - tho it's not due to body odour. It's just good timing due to wanting to redo my hair and wash off.

Why are there so many threads about this?

Lockheart · 14/08/2020 23:09

@Rosieposy4

Shower every morning before work, bath every night before bed. Sorry but people who don’t shower/bath every day do smell. I would never tell them, even if pressed but I can definitely smell the unwashed ( as can everyone else)
See, I'm curious as to how you can conclude this with such confidence. Are you grilling strangers on their bathing habits?

If not, how do you know someone who smells hasn't had a shower that day but had just come from the gym or has a medical condition?

How do you know someone who doesn't smell has had a shower that day?

Have you sniffed all people who don't shower every day to determine whether you're right or not?

Or are you just chatting utter bollocks?

TheChosenTwo · 14/08/2020 23:11

Daily, as does Dh.
I quite often have a bath in the evening too, this is mainly to give me a bit of peace and quiet Grin
I wash my hair on exercise days, it’s long thick and curly and I cba with daily styling to make it look presentable Grin
The dc tend to shower every other day.

Greenpop21 · 14/08/2020 23:11

Once or twice a day. Normally before bed but if there’s any bedroom shenanigans then in the morning too.Wink

Sakura7 · 14/08/2020 23:11

I only showered 3-4 times a week, and our friends would ask me why she smells?

To be fair they were hardly going to ask "why do you smell?" to either you or your friend. It's possible they were trying to broach the subject for a reason.

Dazzedandconfused · 14/08/2020 23:11

Every morning unless I'm ill then I might spend the day in bed and have a bath instead.

Snaptheirfingers · 14/08/2020 23:12

Lockheart

Perhaps they wipe themselves properly, being toilet trained adults and all.

I'm not sure my Dh is properly toilet trained ......that's the problem!

Seriously I do think in the current situation many of us have increased our hygiene standards; what worries me is those who really haven't understood the message.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:12

People are not "dirty" by not lathering themselves with scented soap and shampoo every single day.

I wash my hands 10 time a day, I wash my face twice a day, I have a bidet, I wash my clothes.

So why is this odd?

OP posts:
Greenpop21 · 14/08/2020 23:12

I have gone a day or two without one but would wash the important bits. I’m not smelly, I just like a shower really .

Prettybluepigeons · 14/08/2020 23:13

Every single day. Sometimes twice a day

Illegitiminoncarborundum · 14/08/2020 23:14

I was going to respond something sensible, but then you started waffling on about how superior you are because you don't smell and you eat only whole and organic wonderfully unprocessed foods.

And then I started laughing.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:15

@Illegitiminoncarborundum

I'm not superior; I'm just stating I do not have body odour. Maybe I have some weird medical condition that doesn't allow for me sweat under my arms? I tend to sweat on my face a lot. Not much elsewhere.

OP posts:
Shouldershrugger · 14/08/2020 23:16

Another daily here. Sometimes twice in one day. Especially in the last week.

Kipperandarthur · 14/08/2020 23:17

The problem is that lots of people can’t smell their own sour body odour but others can!

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:17

When I was a teen, I would spray water on my sport top to mask it look like my friends who would jog and have that v shaped sweat spot.

Sadly I never did even after a run, so I would just fake it.

I did, however, sweat all over my face and hair drenching through out.

OP posts:
Illegitiminoncarborundum · 14/08/2020 23:17

@misschoices

Who knows!

I have 2 showers a day- 1 30 minutes and 1 10 minutes

springiscoming12 · 14/08/2020 23:20

Why wouldn’t you shower everyday? I’m always shocked (and disgusted) when I read these threads - just shower everyday like a normal and clean person.

Rosieposy4 · 14/08/2020 23:20

@Lockheart
I try to not get close enough to strangers to smell them, let alone discuss their habits.
I am talking about colleagues over many many years of work and family ( Large on both sides) who are happy enough to discuss their washing habits. My friends are all of the washing variety.
Sample size is large.

misschoices · 14/08/2020 23:21

I can not afford organic - when did I say that? This thread is nasty as usual. I can't afford organic but am a pescatarian. I also just don't sweat much!

OP posts:
SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 14/08/2020 23:21

Eww daily especially in the heat/humidity

genteelwoman · 14/08/2020 23:22

Twice a day , once if I'm too tired in the evening but it helps me unwind and relax and I enjoy it. I feel grubby if I shower too late in the day so have never skipped a day except when I gave birth to DC and was exhausted and recovering after 3 days in labour so showered the next day.

I have quite bad eczema that is probably exacerbated by the frequency I bath and shower but I just cant skip a day even though I dont have any BO issues. I
